It "won the weekend," though a weekend without a single major-film competitor. Robert DeNiro's newest "passionless" hackwork bombed even harder.Snow White had a mediocre opening day at the US box office amid the ongoing controversy surrounding the film, while Robert De Niro's mob drama The Alto Knights has completely tanked. The Disney live-action remake, which stars Rachel Zegler and Gal Gadot, took $16m across Friday and preview screenings from 4,200 venues across the US. Variety reports that this figure puts the film on track to land a projected opening weekend north of $45m.It made $44.3 million. They keep lowering projections and it keeps missing them. On Saturday, I think, Disney and the Disney Shill Media revised projections to $100 million global, and set this as the new bar of success. It failed to come close to that, making $87 million globally.

Then there was the casting of Rachel Zegler in the lead role, who has proven to be a PR headache for corporate execs. She rarely hid her criticism of the 1937 film that put Disney on the map. For example, she revealed being actually "scared of the original cartoon" as a child, while also slamming it for featuring a dated love story around a prince "who literally stalks" Snow White. Just six months before the debut of what should be the actor's biggest role on the silver screen to date, she drew heavy criticism immediately following the November election. In a social media post, she wished Trump voters "may never know peace" for their role in ushering in "another four years of hatred". She issued a formal apology later, claiming emotions got the better of her. Finally there was the personal friction between the two main leads. Israeli actress Gal Gadot is an ardent supporter of her country's war against Hamas militants. Zegler by comparison has vociferously opposed the killing of Palestinian non-combatants, including the more than 14,500 children who have died according to UNICEF estimates.Note that Gadot is portrayed as favoring "war" while Zegler just wants the people murdering and raping Israelis to suffer no consequences.

If the official budget was 250 million, it was much higher given the reshoots, rewrites and holding it without releasing it for a year while the interest on the loans builds up. I think the estimate of people who follow this is it would have to break a billion to be a hit.

Some good videos on the subject by Rick Beato. We are in the twilight of big music with old legacy acts staggering on in their dotage, no new bands making the charts for nearly a decade or so, and only internet celebrities making fake and derivative works to fill up Spotify lists.

An actor has to be able to make you believe he/she is the character they are portraying. You have to suspend disbelief. If you go back 20 years or so, there were many attempts to prove gays were genetically predisposed to their behavior in order to legitimize homosexuality, which at one point was openly declared a lifestyle choice, but then became Sickle Cell Anemia - something you didn't ask for and just live with.
And yes, digging into the actual science is a career-ender. A recent issue of First Things has an article about what it is to be canceled for publishing honest factual but inconvenient research - specifically, how kids raised by same-sex parents end up really messed up.

When Warner Bros had their 75th Anniversary about 15-20 years ago, they played a bunch of classics all through that summer. I saw Casablanca, The Big Sleep, Mildred Pierce, The Exorcist etc on the big screen, the average theater was about 2/3 full. That was a seriously fun summer.
I missed The Wild Bunch though, that pissed me off.

A lot of criminals that do death penalty crimes lack the ability to foresee that their actions might affect their future. Some, like a fair amount of gangbangers, have got to the point via abuse, violence, etc. that they simply do not give a shit about their future.
So a genetic lack of impulse control, being drugged up, and used to violence means they simply do not care about the future--everything is here and now. FWIW, a little talked about stat is that most murderers and their victims have criminal backgrounds. Murderers rarely just 'snap'; there is almost always an escalating series of crimes (often uncharged--comes out in criminal histories from sentencing reports), before they kill someone. Often true for their victims too--lots of crimes of violence, drug abuse, and so on.

Because the male sex drive is stronger, significantly more effort has to be made to redirect it, and this usually comes in the form of trauma, but decadence (the need for new pleasures) also comes into play.

Same sex and very probably trans couples have very high rates of domestic abuse. Lesbians have higher rates than male gays but both have higher rates of domestic violence than straights. Especially if you exclude straights that have drug or alcohol abuse perps in them.

Me too. Mike and his wife Bridget are devout Christians. Plus he did most of the writing anyway, even when Joel was still in the SoL. I do like Trace, though. He is super funny. And he did some really good impersonations, like Dean Martin and Gregory Peck.

They didn't remake Snow White.
They did an entirely different story, just used some names from Snow White to tell a tale about a different fantasy-- socialism.
Should have actually remade Snow White, it's timeless warning to women that the power of their youth, beauty, and sexuality will eventually fade is something Zegler should ponder.
