45 I like it. It's an interesting take on the art cliche of nude subjects. She isn't glamorous, isn't an idealized image, but more everyday JPF subject.

I agree that it looks unfinished, but maybe that's the point. Raw, not retouched, etc.

Or I'm just full of shit after having dated an art major a long time ago.

57 The odalisque was a popular image at the time. Jean-Baptiste Ingres used/reused them in a lot of his art. They were a romantic image, being depictions of "oriental" haram girls, but also classical in that they were beautiful and idealized. One of Ingres most famous odalisques lounges in a pose similar to this. It's a Venusian pose of beauty, sexuality, and seduction. This pose can be seen in works by Titian, Canova and Manet, as well as on the Elgin Marbles of the Parthenon.

I think my appreciation is that since I also have a degree of chronic depression, to know that Van Gogh suffered and yet made these gives me hope or at least inspiration.

I recommend hikes and views in the American Southwest, such as Palo Duro Canyon near Amarillo, TX, or Bandelier National Monument in northern New Mexico. Or Carlsbad Caverns in SE NM.

It's certainly a good idea, but I think she doesn't have the energy right now. She's resting. I just think when she's not at her job which is high streee ( and she's been off for a few days) she looks at political news a lot/ which we all can do but it's not conducive to healing.

I recommend the landscapists of the Dutch Golden Age. They are so full of detail, your friend might get lost in the paintings and forget her troubles for a while. Also try Albert Bierstadt, John Constable, JMW Turner, and the photography of Ansel Adams.

Fen, I am being serious as a heart attack right now...
Try to get her to watch The Joy of Painting. Bob Ross wasn't painting masterpiece artwork. But his work was nice. The part she might find helpful is the way he talks. His voice was pleasant and he spoke calmly and quietly. It's really soothing. He was encouraging and engaging.
My dad and I both enjoyed watching this. When Pop died, I was a mess. Grief plus being executor of the estate equals stressed out and not sleeping well. I would put this show on and within a short time I would be so relaxed that I fell asleep.
Try to get her to unplug from the news and watch Bob Ross on the YouTube channel. It might just change her situation.

When I got my new phone, "RCS Chats" was turned on, and it was interfering with my standard SMS messages getting in/out of my phone.

Here's where it is on my phone:

Scroll down and find the gear, "Messages Settings". Click that.

There should be an "RCS Chats" line. Click that.

Turn off the "Turn on RCS chats" setting.

Now all messaging is strictly SMS messaging through your phone provider.

Based on the size of her other parts, that thigh is oddly positioned and the painting does not accurately portray its size. Everything above that hip is pretty normal sized and not in keeping with a "plus sized" model.

Non-custodial parents can still claim the child as a dependent for tax purposes, but there's several conditions that must be satisfied.

Usually the beef is that Ex-Spouse X -- usually the one who thinks they got the short end of the tax benefits -- thinks the other side isn't deserving and/or not doing what they agreed to do, and therefore X should get more of the tax benefits.

Also, you may be surprised how vague some divorce agreements/orders are -- and often deliberately so -- so enable the case to be closed and off the calendar. The judge and/or lawyers think "eh, fuck it, they can argue about this later."
