I sure thought he was funny for about ten years. So it's kind of hard for me to say that I was wrong, he was never funny. I'm sure people who thought Pongo the Clown was a pretty funny party clown probably had the same revisions to their long-ago memories when his true self entered the light of day. We are entering an age where all celebrities are Pongo the Clown. Only a matter of time before the makeup comes off. Posted by: BeckoningChasm at March 21, 2025 10:02 PM (CHHv1) 6

Real Vanilla
1 Cut the vanilla beans in half lengthwise with scissors or a knife. Leave a bit intact at the end if desired. Cut the beans down to fit the height of your jar if necessary. 2 Put the beans in an 8-ounce jar. Cover with the vodka. Screw the lid on and give it a good shake. 3 Place in a cool, dark place. Let sit for at least 2 months. The longer the vanilla sits, the stronger the flavor will be. While it's sitting, give the jar a shake every week, or as often as you can remember. A war only starts when the side being attacked fights back. Until then it's just an attack. They've been attacking and taking ground for decades. After years of taking hits and ceding our country we are finally fighting back. The team Trump has chosen is leading the fight. They are not all perfect and some are better than others but they are all fighting back for a change and some like Musk are risking their lives and that is not an exaggeration. And there is no turning back. I'm beyond happy that we are finally fighting and taking back our country even if it takes years. Fuck the leftist scumbags, this is our country. Just noticed a bug in one of my astronomical "apps" for the Stupid Phone. It was miscalculating the Equation of Time. The problem was right on the equinox, the apparent suns laps around the 360 degree longitude mark before the mean sun. You have to account for this in the difference, otherwise it will mess up. That just cleared, as the mean sun just passed the equinox about 10 minutes ago. So, it was just the Mean Equinox. I've been playing with Grok, and I have to admit, I'm impressed. But it still gets stuff wrong. It was funny, playing around this afternoon, I asked it do a certain calculation. It did it correctly, and even sanity-checked itself. It explained each step, then sanity-checked the result with other known things that should agree. I thought that was good. Then I asked it the same question a little later, but worded it slightly different. Not on purpose, just different wording popped out. It got it completely wrong. It went to the same source for the formula, but made amateurish errors doing it. It was simple "off by one" errors, which I thought was funny. Just like a human is prone to do. I pointed out the error. It agreed, yep I screwed up, the made another off-by-one error in a later step. Posted by: publius, Rascally Mr. Miley (w6EFb) at March 22, 2025 02:16 AM (w6EFb) 349

Maybe the Mississippi River is the great divide in this country when it comes to the spicy and the merely thinking about possibly being spicy. Frontier cooking versus having those slaves cook up some good spicy African dishes with the products at hand. New England's bland, too, IMO. No slaves, either. I'm a homeboy. I love Southern coastal cooking. Once you get too far into the interior, it changes to more bland. I like a kick to my food. I absolutely loved Nah'luns. Finally someone recognizes a serious problem. Gutfeld had a segment on grammatical errors that most annoy you.
He mentioned the recent prevalence of dropping the T towards the end of the word. You hear a lot of that lately from the talking heads, instead of im-port-tant they say something like im-poah-ant.
