49 During the Continuation War, Finland had an all Penguin unit, Suomipenguinnennbrigadenn. The very rumor of them being in an operation area was enough to cause Russians to abandon their skis, but mostly the smell. Finns were immune to this smell as a result of various herring products served at all meals from an early age. And vodka.

There are a couple of Orca pods that hang out outside the the Gibraltar straight. They are randomly attacking sailboat rudders in the open ocean. Some times they snap them off and the boat sinks. They are studying them to understand why this particular pod is acting poorly and possibly training others to attack.

29 years ago at Barney's Beanery a couple got into it. Thrown punches, room to room scuffling. Musta given them the stinkeye, they came over to explain they were stunt people trying to impress a casting agent. They were a bit concerned I might misunderstand and clock the guy. I have never understood trophy hunting.
I won’t judge. I find it horribly offensive to kill an animal to stuff it and put its body on display. If it is eaten, that’s different. I don’t understand killing for sport. Posted by: nurse ratched at March 14, 2025 09:41 PM (1ztRL) 122

…Senator Lankford … Senator Mullin… Posted by: Maj. Healey Siiiigh. 😒 Funny thing is, both our Senators, when I see them on news shows or their own videos, mostly talk the talk. But when it comes time to walk the walk, they fail. So sad. Posted by: mindful webworker - Okie by birth and choice at March 14, 2025 09:55 PM (h7Ym/) 129

A man who was a member of the Order of the Moose went hunting with an old friend who was a member of the Elks' club.
They were in a stand, overlooking a water hole, when a bull moose shouldered out of the brush and went down to take a drink from the fresh flowing water. "Don't shoot him," the one friend, "it is like he is a lodge brother or something." So they let the moose drink in peace and depart. Later a bull elk strode majestically out of the trees and sauntered down to the spring. The Elks' member shot it dead, and said, "Wasn't one of ours, he was drinking water" Posted by: Kindltot at March 14, 2025 09:58 PM (D7oie) 131
Re: submarines. I don't remember being claustrophobic as a youth, but as I've gotten farther past 29, it's clear I have it. I recently had an MRI that was supposed to last 90 minutes. I made it to about 80 then freaked the f*** out. Worst panic feeling ever. I can't imagine being in a tube AND under water. My hats off to submariners.

Look, There are still Americans that HUNT not for the Trophy but for the food that they will bring into their homes to sustain them for the winter and sometimes into the spring. It is our right as Americans. Hard as it is for those of us that are slaves to supermarkets and costco's. Some of our fellow Americans still hunt. AS IS THEIR RIGHT!!!
