ICE Agents Arrest Palestinian Activist Who Leads the Columbia Protests

Another pro-terrorist foreign agent.

Federal immigration officials have arrested Palestinian activist Mahmoud Khalil, the leader behind pro-Hamas campus protests at Columbia University. ICE agents detained Khalil at his university-owned apartment, and he now faces potential deportation as part of President Trump's crackdown on radical campus unrest.

Key Details:

Mahmoud Khalil, a Columbia Apartheid Divest leader, was arrested by ICE agents Saturday night at his university provided residence.

He remains under federal custody, with his green card and visa potentially being revoked.

Khalil led demonstrations that included materials reportedly sourced from Hamas and Hezbollah.

President Trump has pledged to pull $400 million in federal funding from Columbia over its failure to curb anti-Semitic campus activism.

Diving Deeper:

Federal immigration authorities arrested Mahmoud Khalil, the Palestinian activist who spearheaded radical anti-Israel protests at Columbia University, in an overnight raid at his campus-adjacent apartment. Khalil, who completed his graduate studies at Columbia in December, is now facing potential deportation and the revocation of his visa and green card.

Khalil's attorney, Amy Greer, confirmed the arrest Sunday, stating that ICE agents entered his university-owned residence a few blocks from Columbia's main campus and took him into custody. Despite no longer being a student, Khalil remained in school-provided housing under a university policy that allows students to stay post-graduation.

His arrest comes amid an intensifying crackdown by the Trump administration on left-wing campus unrest, particularly at elite institutions where anti-Semitic rhetoric and violent demonstrations have surged. Khalil was a key leader in Columbia Apartheid Divest, a group at the forefront of protests that descended into chaos, including the recent seizure of Barnard College's Milstein Library.

Videos from the protest showed Khalil using a bullhorn outside the library, where rioters distributed Hamas propaganda, including pamphlets justifying the October 7, 2023, massacre of Israeli civilians. Demonstrators also passed around images of deceased Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, killed in an Israeli airstrike last September.

The people who scream about "backlash" are the first to stoke hatred of others.

Happy Monday, everyone. I hope that you've all adjusted to Daylight Savings Time better than I have.

The young man, who goes by the name of Abu Wadei – with various spellings – shared footage from what appeared to be an inflatable dinghy on social media platform TikTok on Friday.

Wearing a keffiyeh, a head covering, he showed dozens of lifejacket-clad asylum seekers with him on the small boat.||

Many people, and nearly all young ones, fervently believe that green cards mean you are forever a permanent legal resident. They misunderstand "permanent". A neighbor girl was stunned when an Asian friend with a green card returned to China (fled for his life , mind you) and after nearly 2 years was denied re-entry. That should be limited further. No princess, your friend was not "american".

"Permanent DST in the US was briefly enacted by president Richard Nixon in January 1974, in response to the 1973 oil crisis. The new permanent DST law was retracted within the year. 315 I think Trumps team should audit all applications for visas and citizenship going back 20 years.

I think we'd find an absolutely mind boggling amount of fraud.

Completely fabricated job offers, resumes, educational background, criminal backgrounds, all kinds of stuff.

The biggest bullshit our government does is pretend that documents from India or Afghanistan or Peru are just as valid as documents from the US.

"He received a PhD in microbiology from a university in India. He should be admitted under an extraordinary talent visa"

But no one is actually investigating whether that was a real degree or a degree mill institution that will give you a PhD for 2 chickens and a goat. And they exist all over India.

Other countries have even less reliable institutions and even more corruption.

I'd prefer if there were no new immigration applicants for a generation or two to see if we can stabilize the culture in the meantime (not too dissimilar to the massive lull in immigration from the 1930's - 1965), but sure, if we must let immigrants in, we need to actually do real background checks.

Like when my buddy applied to be a cop, cops from that town came and interviewed former co-workers (me), former landlords, former neighbors. Checked with the college he went to to make sure he actually graduated. Etc. etc.

If we can do that for small town police department hiring processes, I think it's only fair to do that for people applying for Visa's to the US on their way to citizenship.

Not my area of expertise, but you have something like 6 months after youre done with school before your student visa is revoked and youre "out of status"

So the universities play all kinds of games with that, including applying for visas on students behalf and giving them jobs at the university. Or signing them up for another degree, or whatever.

Simultaneously, those people apply for the H1B lottery and/or O1 visas or whatever their lawyer thinks they have their best shot at scamming their way in to.

They do that too. Microsoft has massive campuses in India.

The usual progression is -- Pajeet works at Microsoft in the US. He tells his bosses his cousin owns a programming shop in India, everyone there is really talented, and they're much cheaper than these shitty American co-workers he has.

Pajeet's cousin and his friends get hired to do contract work for Microsoft. They eventually get hired at Microsoft India.

Pajeet then convinces his bosses that the time difference between US and India causes too many bottlenecks. These guys are really good programmers, but they'd be better and faster working from the US. Plus, they're underrepresented minorities and will help hit the diversity goals that HR keeps talking about.

Microsoft sponsors their H1B (or O1 or whatever) visas. Some come over. Rinse / repeat until Microsoft is basically an Indian run company.
