Me: If the count of composites remaining after removing paired composites is less than pi(x) then Goldbach is true for x.
Grok: No. Even if there are less than pi(x) composites remaining, the lower count alone is not enough. You'd still need to show something about the distribution of primes. Me: What will the remaining primes pair with? Airplanes? Grok: Sure. Or gumballs. Posted by: Van Helsing at March 06, 2025 04:07 AM (N462N) Posted by: m at March 06, 2025 04:09 AM (CQE5S) 8

Evening and morning, late toilers and early risers,
I have lost a box of matches! You know, the strike-on-the-box packet of 300. I'd only used about a third, and in fact employed it on Tuesday. Usually I keep it atop the microwave. This morning I go looking, and nada. It's not a crisis, I have two other full boxes, but I paid for these --and they couldn't just walk off. I am mounting a search party to go through all the cabinets. The box may be injured and unable to respond. Anyway! How's your Thor's Day? Downtown is a great song. Evokes a simpler fun time. And reminds me of the home run era of baseball when the players and the balls we’re juiced. Every team it seemed did a commercial featuring their slugger hitting home runs with that tune as the background.

Petula's "Downtown," "My Love," and "A Sign of the Times" are all great stuff. It's not her fault or that of the lyricist that city downtowns in the civilized world have become so uncivilized in the last sixty years. My downtown, Canal Street, was a thriving shopping district in 1964. When I was last there on Thanksgiving Day in '24, it was overrun with sloppily-dressed people (and those were the respectable ones), panhandlers, and scummy-looking characters. And the stores are mostly "urban wear," tourist traps touting "Cajun" everything, and hotels.

The Americans travelling the 5 major Australian cites, 5 if you don't count Perth which is reasonable since it is effectively in another universe, made it to Sydney.
Holy hell. Wow. I was struck with how much it reminded me of Vancouver BC, Seattle, and San Francisco but better. So much better. It is peculiar mix of Victorian England, and for lack of a deeper understanding, oddly west coast American. https://youtu.be/VG7rnjtFJmM Posted by: Altaria Pilgram - My President has convictions at March 06, 2025 04:28 AM (S9FN9) 22

A bit about the inspiration and recording of Downtown. Bullet points: It was inspired by NYC, the song was still not finished 2 weeks before it was recorded, It was recorded live in the studio, take 2 out of 3 was what we have today, and NO AUTO TUNE which I consider the destroyer of souls.
I remember when this hit the airwaves. It just exploded and was a remarkable counterpoint to all the Beatlemaina stuff happening. Something caught my eye regarding the whole Trump must pay stuff - it seems some of this may be for services already performed pursuant to a contract and vendor wants paid. Now assuming such vendors are acting in good faith (not a given) I can see why a court would say they should be paid. All of this assumes there’s no fraud, illegality etc. (yes I know the entire Fed bureaucracy is a fraud.)

What strikes me about the legal nonsense is the underlying thing that everyone in the news yammering about it just accepts as given... we have no idea who was paying what, for what, or how, or why. Grant? Contract? Did they actually do what they said they would? Were they ever going to? What was this money even for?
There's just money. Or there was money, they think, and now someone else has money. They think. It's a farce. The more this dumbass story and others like it percolate through the national consciousness, the more that veil of "Oh Well, it's complicated, but they're experts i guess" gets pierced, and the more pissed off the normies get from this ever growing yellow snowball of government perfidy. I saw a "thank you" message from a high school friend in which she described heading into her 72nd year bemoaning the fact that the boycotted business firms' list was growing and making it harder for her to shop for goods and services. I guess that is the "joyful" life of which Red Kammie's followers all spoke over a year ago. How exciting! What was eye opening were the many "me, too" responses. All served as testimony to the power of untrammeled and unquestioning adherence to what truly is a soul crushing cult of death. I don’t know why Apple decided not to make the iCar EV they were supposedly working on for years, but since they’re already charging used car prices they should have gone ahead with the idea. I’m thinking an Apple electric vehicle would start at $59,099.00 for the base model which will give you 150 mile range But if you upgrade to the full battery pack, which will give you 500 miles range it will only set you back $99,099.00. 67 Something caught my eye regarding the whole Trump must pay stuff - it seems some of this may be for services already performed pursuant to a contract and vendor wants paid.
