The Morning Report — 2/ 27 /25

Killdoger.jpg

Good morning kids. Starting off on a sad note, screen actor extraordinaire Gene Hackman, who brought to life many iconic roles has passed away at the age of 95. This news comes just a few days after the passing at age 88 of equally talented R&B songstress Roberta Flack. Both feature prominently in the landscape of the memories of my youth in the 1970s. RIP and thanks for those great memories.

Now on to the news. As Trump continues to steamroll the Left and leaving them and their epicenter in the Democrat Party completely flummoxed as to respond, their natural instinct, beyond litigation is to lash out employing their typical tactics of subversion and even overt violence or threats thereof.

Last week Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX) was interviewed by British journalist Steven Edginton of Britain’s GB News. After the conversation, Edginton mentioned Tucker Carlson, which caused Crenshaw to say the following that was captured on a 'hot mic.'

“We’ve talked a lot on Twitter,” referring to the exchanges he and Carlson have traded online, “If I ever meet him, I’ll f*cking kill him.”

. . . During the interview, he viciously criticized Carlson's stand against providing unlimited and unaccounted aid to Ukraine.

Yes, Dan Crenshaw is not technically a Democrat but his rhetoric, whether that could be construed as a legitimate death threat against TuCa or merely hot-under-the-collar schoolyard machismo blowhardism it demonstrates a mentality whereby when one cannot reasonably articulate a cogent and importantly persuasive argument for one's position, the default is to lash out in frustration. And as for Trump and his views on the Ukraine war, as CBD and I discussed on the latest edition of the podcast (here and in the sidebar), regardless of the fact that Putin's invasion is inexcusable, to not seek an end to this bloody conflict for humanity's sake all by itself but to think that courting a disastrous miscalculation by going to war with Vladimir Putin is what the US must do is insane. Period full stop. And the argument that Putin is going to roll all the way to the English Channel and then cross the Atlantic to invade America is ridiculous. But the salient point is, no argument that goes against the accepted memes, shibboleths and beliefs of the Leftist globalist enterprise shall not be countenanced. And that extends to the mere presence of Donald Trump as President of the USA, regardless of the fact that what he is doing has broad support of long-frustrated GOP voters and even the much vaunted independents as well as some Democrats.

From infantile bluster we go to actual organized criminal behavior that is likely funded by Leftists and leftist aligned malefactors given aid and comfort by Democrats in and out of office:

Anti-ICE protesters have been taking matters into their own hands by disrupting illegal immigration raids while publicly doxing the identities of federal agents. “Immigration rights activists have banded together to conduct patrols throughout Los Angeles communities and, in a few instances, have stopped raids as they were happening,” reported KTLA. One group of 100 volunteers, Community Self-Defense Coalition, interrupted ICE raids in the San Fernando and Alhambra areas. Video footage showed the volunteers driving up to the scene of the raid and saying, “There they are, there’s ICE, ICE spotted in Alhambra.”

The group says it patrols the streets to inform the public about ICE activity in the area.

“We denounce [ICE] and alert the community with megaphones,” volunteer Rob Gochez told KTLA. “We were there until the agents left. They didn’t kidnap anybody today.”

According to Fox News correspondent Bill Melguin, the anti-ICE protesters have taken to the extreme measures of doxing federal agents, putting their lives at risk.

Scratch the surface and somewhere in there has got to be La Raza, Mecha, ties to Soros and someone like tarantula faced Raul Grijalva amongst many others. I surely hope Pam Bondi and Kash Patel have a slew of RICO investigations that target the multi headed Hydra snake heads of this evil Medusa.

And then there's this:

A new letter released by the House Judiciary Committee reveals that under the Biden administration, an IRS contractor leaked the tax information of 405,427 taxpayers to news sources — including that of President Donald Trump. Yet Americans are supposed to be concerned about DOGE?
. . . According to a letter that Department of the Treasury Acting Commissioner Douglas W. O’Donnell sent to House Judiciary Chairman Jim Jordan on Feb. 14, Charles Littlejohn “inappropriately accessed or leaked” the information of 405,427 taxpayers, 89 percent of whom are “business entities.”

Littlejohn had previously been charged in 2023 for allegedly disclosing tax return information to two news organizations that were not explicitly listed. This taxpayer information was leaked to ProPublica, which used the data “to report its ‘Secret IRS Files’ series,” according to ProPublica.

“The vast dataset contained details on thousands of wealthy Americans, and ProPublica reported dozens of stories based on an analysis of it,” ProPublica said. ProPublica’s Editor-in-Chief Stephen Engelberg denied knowing the identity of the source when charges were made public.

To rejigger (racist?) the inanity of Jimmy Carter, who once declared we have an inordinate fear of communism (and then the Soviets invaded Afghanistan). My fear of Communism is not the kind that was based in Moscow but that took root in DC and became the Democrat/Leftist dominated Deep State.

May Trump and Musk do all that they can to at least put us on an inexorable path to rip it out and destroy it root and branch.

No wonder the current normal seems abnormal to the status quo of the recent past.

Well, the Revolution certainly wasn't televised but will, as Victor Davis Hanson describes as the Counter-Revolution? Certainly not in anything resembling an honest accounting, despite Jeff Bezos' sacking of the WAPo's editorial chief. He is not interested in honest reportage that promotes the free market and freedom of expression. He wants to bowdlerize those high ideals to be used as weapons against Trump and his agenda.

They will fail, miserably. And must, please God.

Stay tuned for Pam Bondi releasing some or the juicier bits of the Epstein files!!!! Oh boy.

Have a great day. And lastly, a quick shout-out and thank you for your continued support in hitting our tip jar. It truly is appreciated more than you can know.

13 The American revolution was a revolt against the standard norms of the world. The counter-revolution started with the progressive movement at the turn of the 20th century. Trump and our fight is to restore the ideals of the revolution, this is a counter to the left's counter revolution. With all due respect to Mr Victor David Hanson, this is a Restoration.

18 Putin as the new Stalin reconstituting the USSR and rolling tanks to the English Channel was always propagandistic nonsense.

Even if he wanted to, events in Ukraine over 3 years have proved conclusively his country has nowhere near the capabilities to carry it out.

The blame is 50-50…. Putin land grabbing takes half the blame. The other half goes to the west running a color revolution in a country on Putin’s border and insisting they join NATO which was madness. I might give more than half the blame to the west

21 Time to Pack?

Better to treat the utterances of the courts as advisory then to continually boost the number of judges to try and achieve a specific outcome. Let the judges rule as they may, say "I've heard them and I disagree so I shan't comply" and let Congress decide whether they have the balls and the unity to do something about it.

I do agree. Foggy Bottom ousting Yushenko for Yanukovich (or was it vice versa) and then rolling NATO to the East were huge provocations and our fault.

A full on invasion of Ukraine was a huge gamble and maybe there was another way to punish them and really our own Deep State without starting a war.

44 [W]e, at USDA, are, tomorrow, going to be rolling out a plan that addresses the avian flu directly. But I do think it’s really important for everyone to understand that this problem did not just happen overnight, and it will take us a little while to get our arms around it. Vaccinations will continue to be looked at and reviewed. Only a handful of countries around the world actually use vaccinations for their egg-laying hens, for their chickens.

Really? What, pray ask, do they do? Do they routinely slaughter millions of egg lying hens? Because, until the waning days of the Reign of Error, I don't recall ever hearing breathless accounts of egg scarcity.

Trump understands the Chinese and Russian People are our allies while working leverage on their governments. Our lobbyists want war as usual, Trump wants a very easy peace.

81 Several days, maybe a week or so ago, there was a pretty lengthy discussion here about "doxing." Mostly whether it was acceptable, specifically to dox those people or entities that were petitioning federal judges to file TRO's against Trump, DOGE, his staff, whatever in an attempt to slowdown and/or stop his agenda.

In light of this, from the BREITBART article JJ linked in his essay above; "Anti-ICE protesters have been taking matters into their own hands by disrupting illegal immigration raids while publicly doxing the identities of federal agents."

Trump's team has adopted many of the tactics the left had been using on us. And is using them to pretty good effect. Identifying persons who are actively engaged in sabotaging his agenda need to be identified and dealt with. In that regard, we need to accept the tactic of "doxing" people as a legit method to root them out.

It can be a tool of persuasion... making people think twice about publicly identifying individuals if they face the same risk.

"Hoosiers" is his most memorable film for me. His "Who cuts your hair?" rejoinder to the local critics at the barbershop was perfect for that moment.

"The Conversation" and "Enemy of the State" are right up there, too.

This leaves Eastwood, Nicholson and Duvall as the great leading men of that generation, with only Clint still active in the craft.

But that's not cynicism or world weariness on my part. It's because the Left infiltrated everywhere, few are where they are on talent, everyone is interchangeable and everything is dumb.

Look back at even the dullest sitcoms from the 80's. Many of the actors were still from the stage, timing and delivery mattered, you couldn't learn your lines three seconds before shooting (apologies to Alec Baldwin).

- JJ

I get a chuckle watching the EUies on YouTube pull that argument out.

I’m pretty sure that even if Putin wanted to he couldn’t even invade Moscow at the moment.

This war has shown that the Russian military is FUBAR and are only good at one thing; leveling entire cities with air strikes and artillery.

Putin had to call in North Korea just attempt to repel the Ukes from Kursk, and they still haven’t finished the job.

The only EU nations that would have anything to worry about are the tiny Baltic countries, and it’ll take a decade or more before Russia could possibly make a genuine move.

It’s purely cynical fear-mongering to suggest the Russians are going to invade anywhere in Europe, anytime soon.

The only thing keeping Russia near the top as a world power is their nuclear arsenal.

Watch/listen to this if you haven't. It's a banned TED talk where a highly credentialed and accomplished scientist discusses "the science delusion", essentially that they, as scientists, understand much of anything and are required to repeat mantras and accepted dogma because thinking about things using actual science has the potential to collapse the established Official Science position and it's way, way too dangerous to allow that kind of examination and thought.

I don't get the feeling he's religious, but he does a great job of explaining why a valid hypothesis like "it appears quite clear that God created all of this" can be such a threat.

155 >>Why J'Blowme hasn't been baked over the coals for this January 2022 idiocy enrages me:

I think the answer is what we are seeing with the exposing of USAID as a CIA cutout that has been not only funding NGOs such as the Atlantic Council which has been longtime partner of the Ukraine gov't and the home of numerous retired CIA and State drones but also the media to present a combined message about what they are doing around the world.

One question that never seems to get asked is why would we want Ukraine and Georgia in NATO? What's in it for us? Why would we give Article 5 protection to countries know primarily for corruption and instability?

Here's a clue from the Atlantic Council themselves from back in 2021.

Absolutely impossible.
The left swears on everything they hold holy that their only complaint about the DOGE kids is "we don't know if they have been properly trained on protecting sensitive information."
This training is so extensive--and so perfect in protecting against leaks--that even federal judges have agreed to stop DOGE until they do.

Charles Littlejohn took, and passed, all the necessary training.
So there is no way, no way at all he leaked those tax returns.

160 The Process Of Rescinding The Endangerment Finding Has Begun

The so-called Endangerment Finding (EF) was an EPA regulatory action early in the Obama Administration (December 2009) that now provides the foundation for all government efforts to restrict and suppress the use of hydrocarbons in our economy. In one of his first day Executive Orders (“Unleashing American Energy”, President Trump directed the incoming EPA Administrator to submit, within 30 days, “recommendations to the Director of OMB on the legality and continuing applicability of the Administrator’s findings.”

It’s purely cynical fear-mongering to suggest the Russians are going to invade anywhere in Europe, anytime soon.

Let me add a more obvious proof that this is merely fear mongering...

Remember how Trump was trying to get our "allies" in NATO to meet their military spending obligations and when Biden came in he stopped pressuring them and they went back to spending a mere pittance? That hasn't changed since the start of the Uke war.

If Germany or France are afraid of Russia attacking them they would be dramatically expanding their military budgets - Europe's GDP is more than large enough to put together a larger military then Russia. And yet...nothing.

I saw someone, a couple days ago, talking about Poland and South Korean tanks. What if the Russians could destroy all of those within a week? What European force could repel Russia if Russia were prepared to level western European cities?

Russia hasn't invaded the west because they don't want to. It's not in their interest to do so. Laughing at their "inability" to conquer and absorb a population which dislikes them seems a bit like whistling past the graveyard.

204 Don’t let the situation in Ukraine cloud your judgement on what Russia’s capabilities and intentions are. Their strategy has been to undertake operations against countries in their orbit. They use a combination of IW, government subversion and military incursions to achieve it. You can argue why they do it, and certainly one reason is to ensure the safety of their country, but that doesn’t quite cover it. Some of these countries are not a threat to them which leads one to ask- why?

Wisdom dictates that a nuclear armed country with a GDP close to Florida may have better levers to foster engagement than direct action. But the fact is Putin has largely seen some of that potential engagement as weakness and undertaken ops which are threatening to our national sovereignty.

There’s a lot to consider there.

228 I was reading about the Diem assassination recently and what a clusterfuck.

Buddhists in Vietnam were mad about having a Christian political leader so Buddhist generals floated the idea of replacing him with one of them.

Kennedy went along with it and the US found out that unlike Diem these generals were corrupt scum bags with no real following in the country.

Arguably we lost Vietnam the day his admin gave the generals the go ahead to kill Diem.

I agree there.
Trump also warned them back then to stop buying oil & gas from Russia, and they laughed at him, in the UN.

The Europeans are facing the same budget problems we are. The French & Germans would have to cut their welfare programs to afford a decent military and doing that is like trying to wrestle Gollum away from The Precious.

They’ve built an entire democratic-socialist economy on the back of America paying for their defense for 70 years.

Their arrogance won’t allow them to admit they were wrong about anything, so they’ll continue on doing what they’re doing until they’re part of the caliphate. And then, by the looks of it, the Americans and Russians will be forced to come save them again.

Maybe we’ll sit the next world war out and let them figure it out on their own for the first time in over a century?

Not all of them. More like "a couple."

More to the point; we showered Ukraine with a lot of our most capable and modern weaponry... had American missiles and the systems to make them work installed on Soviet era warplanes. An incredibly stupid thing to do should they fall into Russian hands.

Same for "gifting" Ukraine advanced air-to-air missiles, GPS guided munitions and so on.

Russia has had years to examine our weapons and tactics that use them. Stupid.

I don’t necessarily disagree but I would state it differently. We gave them the pretext they needed and Putin knew how Biden would respond. The fact is the war in Ukraine is stupid and unnecessary. But the Russians have been stomping on countries sovereignty in part because Putin pines for the Soviet days of control. He has also pushed the boundaries of counter operations against the US and other nations in Europe. Conversely we’ve done some of the same things via the agency and other means. That doesn’t make it right, it just means there was an important balance which was destroyed. You can say that was done by some of the ops Russia was launching against us, especially cyber, and at the same time say we went to far (really the Euro Trash did) with NATO expansion. But either way rapprochement is the best path now.

This is because they don't see the world in terms of long-term civic integrity and social health, but only in expedient terms of power and control. Institutions aren't mean to serve the people and so a commonweal of trust and respect is meaningless. Those institutions are meant to serve THEM, to be their instruments of power and control over the people.

Wasn't there a nationwide cold snap last week? And I would imagine houses in New Mexico aren't necessarily built for the cold and people might rely on space heaters.

Back in 2010 I knew an elderly couple in Texas that died from a space heater in winter. Up until then I didn't know gas space heaters were a thing.

299 >>The Black Sea has always been the receiving port for the Silk Road. Now add Ukraine's Titanium deposits and the Nuke Power to refine it and you've got yourself a meaningful investment. The Russians aren't going to lose these assets without one hell of a fight.

Add in the fact Putin was never going to let NATO expand onto not just Russia's doorstep but a country he rightly considers largely ethnic Russian and Russian aligned.

The evidence that our deep state/intel blob, whatever you want to call it is not just corrupt but operating off the leash and in their interest not necessarily ours is overwhelming. It's not a defense of Putin to say elements supposedly on our side helped ignite this war.

301 SCOTUS appeared to lean toward making it easier for people from "majority backgrounds," such as white or straight people, to pursue workplace discrimination claims, as they heard an appeal by an Ohio woman who claims she was denied a promotion and demoted because she is heterosexual.

Ames said she had a gay supervisor in 2019 when she was passed over for a promotion in favor of a gay woman and demoted in favor of a gay man - both of whom, she asserted, were less qualified than her.

How can someone be denied a promotion "because they are heterosexual" ? That is absolutely absurd! SCOTUS has gone off the deep end.

She's 60? Discrimination may be happening, but may be a different type.

I want to see the proof the "minorities" are less qualified. I speculate she had issues dealing with the LGTBQ community and the supervisor wanted to minimize her contact.

Maybe she isn't a people person? If any part of her job means dealing with people, maybe she didn't cut the mustard.

302 I think the only thing better than the fact that the left lost in November, better than the fact that they don't know why they lost, and even better than the fact that the don't want to know why they lost, is the fact that they also don't know that the vast majority of Americans are not listening to them anymore.

They are so stuck inside their space capsule greenhouse ecosystem, they still believe that the networks are the only way people get news.
So, five of them show up, yell into a microphone, scurry home to see that every channel is covering their stunt and strut around their houses crowing "we're winning, we're winning!"

It was the most to larger companies. In the old days there were many independent clinics and DR offices, often run BY the doctor. So you'd get a range of medical opinions and if you didn't like Dr Smith's office you could switch to Dr Jones

But now? Biden leaned on the megacorps to push the clot shot and any doctor that disagreed was fired and perhaps lost his license.

Productive at what -- producing queer puppet shows in Brazil, harassing Amish farmers selling raw milk, shutting down farmers in CA to save a tiny fish, pre-dawn raids and arrest of peaceful abortion clinic protesters. . .?

Productivity is only one issue of many.

If a lot of government workers can WFH, I'm fine with it if they can spread out across the USA. In fact, make it a requirement that they have to live in an area that is at 95% of national cost of living. Also all online meetings should be viewable by the public.

397 So, since DOGE is the hot topic, FYI not just the US Digital Service (USDS now DOGE) but other "outside" tech groups were created & embedded in various agencies since O&Joe. Has DOGE found them?

A must read, imo: Georgetown Public Policy Review, Policy Shaping Our Future, Sep. 20, 2022, '10 Years Later: Reviewing the Promise of a Tech-Forward U.S. Government'

The Presidential Innovation Fellows (PIF) created in 2012 & likely still working with the Millennial Challenge Corporation, among others. In 2013, two new teams were started: USDS and 18F.

In 2016, Technology Transformation Services (TTS) under the General Services Administration (GSA) was created as a new home for 18F, PIF, and the Office of Products and Programs (OPP).

GSA, A Brief History of TTS Solutions
A brief history of TTS Solutions is hard to write: our work spans six decades and ten administrations! Moreover, we haven't always been Solutions: pre-2016, we were known as the Office of Citizen Services and Innovative Technologies (OCSIT), and from 2016-2019 we were known as the Office of Products and Programs (OPP).

Read the 'History and values of 18F' - 18F stands on the shoulders of giants!

"Current state: The IRS report does not indicate whether a potential Direct File system would be implemented in a secure cloud environment. However, IRS IT currently maintains several FedRAMPed cloud environments, which would be available for use by a potential Direct File system and contain a number of standard security controls that could be inherited by a potential Direct File system hosted in those environments.
For application development capacity, the IRS is in a good position to leverage collaboration with USDS to ensure that a technical vendor is procured with a high level of expertise in building applications securely in a cloud environment."
