How much will AMD's 9070 XT Cost? Nobody knows, not even AMD. (Tom's Hardware)

The company is reportedly scrambling to take advantage of Nvidia's series of disasters - from having no stock to speak of, to having what stock there was being riddled with chip faults disabling functionality, to what cards actually worked to start with going up in smoke.

But AMD has a long history of being handed opportunities in the GPU space and fumbling them with high prices.

Current leaked prices for the 9070 XT start at $700, which is between $50 cheaper than Nvidia's 5070 Ti if you believe Nvidia, and $200 cheaper than the cheapest actual cards listed, but there are no 5070 Ti cards available at all so it may just be time to roll the dice.

AMD did manage not to screw up the 9800X3D CPU launch, so there may be a chance of them doing it again.

We just had to call an ambulance for Dad as he couldn't walk or even stand up. He's very weak. They just left with him a few minutes ago. Please keep him in your prayers.

My sister just left the hospital. She said Ciampino (Dad) is more responsive and is being admitted. The nurse brought in three bags of fluids. That's all we will know for now. Thank you for all the prayers. I had her let him know all of you were praying for him.

37 Someone should write about the number of folks trying to dumbify their phones. In some cases, they can't just use a dumb phone but phones have become too distracting. There are apps to hide most of your apps or zones to block them at certain times of the day. This wax the first device to create an app free zone.

42 Wife's laptop processed window's update yesterday and got locked out. Error message said Bitdefender didn't update, harddrive issue. At first I thought it was some kind of malware she got. But after searching found out it was legit and had to log into her Microsoft account from another machine to get Bitdefender code. After entering a gazillion numbers her laptop works.

Yes; That is one way to memorize scripture which is a very helpful thing. There was a wonderful older lady at the Tuesday Bible study at the senior care center and she repeated psalm 1 to me which she had memorized many years ago.

69 A movie of Hackman's I've only heard about is called Scarecrow, from 1973. He starred with the new star Al Pacino in a story set, and filmed, in Denver. When I lived there, people told me they remembered the filming, and pointed out at least one location in the NW part of the city proper, the "Highlands" neighborhood, I think.

90 Blessed Assurance is a good one! My general rule of thumb with hymns is, if it was written after about 1915 or so, it's probably crap. (Major exception: How Great Thou Art)

One of my favorites is Let All Mortal Flesh Keep Silence. (Interestingly, it's in D minor. I've never found minor keys to be "weird" or "creepy sounding" like everyone says they are supposed to be...when I think of minor music, I think of that hymn and God Rest Ye, Merry Gentlemen...)

He moved to Santa Fe in the '90s and recently he was still seen around town running errands and such. When I lived in the Albuquerque area Santa Fe was 40 minutes away and I would go up there with great regularity. The people with real money lived up in the canyons that provided some of the most spectacular views you can imagine.

Anyway, for those that are familiar with old time hymns, he hates the tune for "God had spoken by the prophets". ( Tune is called " Ebeneezer") and he says, "If you play that I'm going to walk out and go to the side room; it sounds like a funeral dirge." I just think it's majestic. I often wonder if I'm still there when he goes to the Lord -as. a k inside humor I play it at his memorial service, but he'd probably sit up in his casket and say, " I told you I hate that hymn!
