Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | Jeff Bezos Orders His Leftwing Rag to Run Columns on the Topics of "Free Markets" and "Personal Liberties;" Opinion Editor "Steps Away" Rather Than Implementing the PlanI've said this a dozen times already, but it is pointless for these toxic Marxist propaganda mills to attempt to change their reputations. It's like a woman attempting to regain her lost virtue after blowing the entire town. She'll never shed that reputation. She may wind up landing a man, but she's got a much smaller pool of suitors to work with. Many men will just say "pass." Jeff Bezos will just have to accept that the Post is an amateurish Anxiety Porn publication for leftwing weirdoes and pedophiles, and reduce staff accordingly. There is no way the Post can be "restored" to being acceptable to normies. His latest hare-brained idea is to force the leftwing op-ed page to once in a while speak up in favor of milquetoast libertarian ideas like "free markets" and "personal liberties." I guess he thought these subjects were so anodyne that not even his incompetent, insubordinate employees could object. Wrong! The left now considers talk about "personal liberties," and people having any rights whatsoever against the oppressive government, as "incipient fascism." It's pathetic, just pathetic. The opinion page editor left the paper rather than push fascist ideas like personal liberty.Jeff BezosHere was the Post's leftwing firebrand -- I mean, careful and honest reporter of facts -- Philip Bump's reaction: ![]()

--- There have been several high-profile conversions to the Church in the last couple of years. Actors, porn stars, satanists, even. The victory they gain isn't a mate, but the salvation of their soul, and it is the greatest of all miracles. What going is raising someone from the dead if they're going to go to hell in the end? The Washington Post is a brand. A tarnished brand. it is of this work and cannot be redeemed. Bezos can fire everyone and start over, or just shut it down and start over, which is probably easier and more effective. Posted by: Ace-Endorsed Author A.H. Yeah, you cannot trust any of them. Every news source has done hundreds of apologies and retractions, reversals, etc. Thousands of more times they should have but never did. I don't think the Post's problem is reputation.
I think they theoretically could turn it into an unbiased news platform, but. - Bezos does not have the stones. - They would have to fire about 1/3 of staff and hire serious newsmen - It would go against every social norm of where they are -- DC. - They would have to hire from outside the usual schools, and then keep those people away from the corruption of DC. It is not reputation, but logistics, personnel, their city, and Bezos lack of ... "testicular fortitude." Posted by: bob (moron incognitus) at February 26, 2025 07:10 PM (da+O3) 86

Readable print may be dying. Cursive is dying.
Cursive is dead, nobody younger than Gen x can read it. But then, its not really needed now, either unless you want to send code your kids can't read. Cursive was useful when it was risky to lift your pen off the paper very often but with modern writing tools, no point. Posted by: Christopher R Taylor at February 26, 2025 07:13 PM (2VST1) 101
"testicular fortitude." So, after using the pandemic restrictions, inflationary monetary policy, government subsidizing of parcel deliveries, government contracts and subsidies, too-big-to-fail bailouts, high interest rates and the like to crush small businesses and the independent retailers and drive wealth from the population and concentrate it in the hands of a handful of powerful corporations, we're now big fans of the "free market", deregulation and laissez faire capitalism? Isn't that convenient.
Sorry, the invisible hand has been chopped off and corporate America is holding the cleaver that did it. Posted by: Decaf at February 26, 2025 07:05 PM (unUNN) A long time in coming, I think. Recently, the White House informed the MSM that the White House will the sole authority for press access to the Oval Office. Then, a DC federal court dismissed the White House Correspondents' suit on behalf of the AP access restriction. The grounds for dismissal was that the WHCC had no authority in being or standing for the suit. He ridiculed the suit from the bench. Yesterday, the White House said that it would pick and choose which reporters will accompany the President on travel and in the press room. Not even a murmur from the public. Phase one - govt agencies required to submit plans for large scale RIFs and cost savings by March 15 Phase two - govt agencies required to submit restructuring plans by April 15 with an eye towards implementation by Sept 30. This includes office closures or moves. Monthly status updates due in May, June and July.
