Because the real threat all along (and was there from the very beginning of the CIA) is that the agencies quickly get co-opted by industry.
So it's in America's best interest to overthrow the government in Iran because American oil companies did not want their wells nationalized.
You can rationalize that. But it's a slippery slope that slips VERY quickly. Because it's also in American oil companies best interest for oil prices at home to stay high. So maybe that means the CIA overthrows a government threatening to flood the market with oil. Which would have been great for American consumers.
But US Citizens have no idea any of this is happening behind the curtains.

Early morning with ground fog, so the ground wasn't visible.
Normal landing until the pilot suddenly guns the engines, raises the nose, and we start climbing out of there, and do a go-round to try to land again.

With the Biden era freezing of all of these accounts shit was in limbo. It was supposed to resume in mid 2024, but few of these companies were ready, so had to pump the brakes and threw everyone into limbo again because they never fucking hired more than a skeleton crew.
Now the credit bureau reporting pause has ended, and millions of borrowers are being auto-reported by shitty Indian IT systems as 90+ days overdue on various amounts the marginally staffed servicers never even told them they owed, resulting in 150-200 point FICO hits. And EVEN BETTER, many who paid off their loans 2020-present are learning that the servicer added a day's interest prior to taking the last payoff.. and has considered them, silently, as delinquent for years.
We didn't get caught up here but this is totally fucked.

credit card companies used to do that constantly back in the days when you mailed in a check for your payment. They would claim the check did not arrive by the deadline and then they would add up the interest for the month and tack that onto the bill. That happened to us constantly with citi bank even though we wrote and mailed the check the day we received the bill. We switched and never went back after the third or fourth time.

If you have a degree in basketweaving, sure. I have advanced degrees and do serious work, and we're doing fine. Except for the simple fact that the Dept of Ed refuses to fucking contract a legit business to process fucking payments. You can't pay off a loan if there is nobody capable of accepting payments or nobody knows who has the note. After the initial 2010 clusterfuck where it took FIVE FUCKING YEARS to hammer out a single owner/servicer for the loans, they've swapped to a new fly-by-night outfit every 2-3 years. Lost payments, lost paperwork, randomly reverting to 20 year old addresses, the works. Then 4 years of the Biden junta randomly blocking things. I actually got a letter from a lender for shit I paid off 15 years ago earlier this year, it took about 5 hours and 8 separate phone calls to resolve.
Some servicers on the east coast got broken up and every loan discharged over this.

True, but that's not helpful if you're one of the poor saps whose house closing got cockblocked by suddenly having 500 FICO score out of nowhere, from an entity whose log-in doesn't function or didn't display any info prior to that. That frequently includes the Dept of Ed itself.
The credit bureaus are playing ball once they figure out what is up but it takes a couple of months, minimum.

Technically I took out a loan with a specific contract with a specific private entity. The feds appropriated those and arbitrarily and illegally altered the contract.
They can't even cough up the original notes at this point; it's nothing more than "because Dept of Ed says so" with no terms, contract, or promissory note anyone can point to. In other words, typical government accounting, as we all know now.

Could be. But more likely it's just the normal incompetence of the corrupt contractors who corruptly got the bid with the plan of subcontracting the actual work, and its subcontracted all the way down to some inept IT company in India.
Remember Healthcare.gov? Probably the most expensive website in the history of the internet and it crashed day one and took months and a ton of money to make it even semi usable?
