Children's Hospital Colorado To Resume Gender-Affirming Treatments For Youth [Muldoon]
What is the proper role of a pediatric physician? Core pediatric training largely focuses on normal growth and development of children. Understanding normal progress allows the physician to recognize deviations from normal. The pediatrician should help guide children from birth through childhood, and eventually to becoming sound, functioning adult members of society.
Somewhere along the way some in the pediatric community lost the plot and abandoned that core principle. I believe that this began along with the emergence of Adolescent Medicine as a subspecialty within Pediatrics. In its early days Adolescent Medicine took the stance that teens deserved some degree of autonomy. Teens being teens, this unsurprisingly led to a three-party conflict involving parents, teens and physicians over all sorts of issues (drugs, alcohol, sex, you name it). The doctor's role eventually shifted from being a mediator to being a partisan arbiter who always took the side of the child. Validating the feelings of the child, even if their choices became self-destructive, became paramount. With the emergence of "gender dysphoria" as the greatest thing since the hula hoop, adolescents have learned that being a bully brings results. Parents and doctors alike, in their eagerness to please the child, are susceptible to intimidation. These days a threat of "If I don't get my way I'll kill myself," only has to be implied to get a result. When dealing with a 4 year old who throws a tantrum the first rule of parenting should be "We don't negotiate with terrorists."Fast forward to today, with the transgender fad exploding in America; where have children's hospitals ended up?
On January 28th the White House announced an Executive Order titled Protecting Children From Chemical and Surgical mutilation. Briefly, that EO bans so-called "gender affirming care" for children less than 19 years old to be enforced by withholding of federal funds for noncompliance. Colorado hospitals initially paused so-called "gender affirming" care on February 6th. Three states (WA, OR, MN) sought an injunction, which was granted in mid-February. Now, according to this report in the Denver Post in the wake of Colorado joining the lawsuit over the EO and anticipating the restraining order being extended to include CO, Children's Hospital Colorado (CHCO) is rushing to reinstitute their gender clinic activities. "Children's Hospital Colorado believes that families know what is best for their child," the hospital said in a statement. I find it odd that they don't feel the same way when it comes to school closures, masking and vaccinations. I also notice that no named spokesperson for CHCO was actually quoted. Just "The hospital said..." CHCO's gender clinic is ironically named The TRUE Center. A couple of years ago the TRUE Center's webpage was masked from public view. Searching on CHCO's main website for the search term 'gender' did not result in a link to the gender clinic. The TRUE webpage could be reached from outside links, but was apparently hidden from casual searching on the CHCO site. Now however, searching for 'gender' brings up a first result of TRUE Center, loud and proud. I'm not sure what that shift signals, but it seems they are more confident in revealing their true agenda. TRUE stands for Trust, Respect, Understand and Emerge. You can trust us. We'll respect you. We understand you. And at the end of the process you can emerge as your true self. Or stated differently it says 'we will cater to your delusion and your wishes will be fulfilled'. These are confused children, not butterflies emerging from a cocoon. The CHCO TRUE Center has abandoned truth in favor of delusional ideology. If should be renamed the "FALSE" Center. CHCO has taken the position that they never performed elective mastectomies on patients younger than 19 years old though they did perform mastectomies on young adults prior to 2023. But if you look at the TRUE Center webpage you will find this little nugget: "We can also refer you to additional services at your request within Children's Colorado as well as a variety of other community resources." I read this as "surgery, wink, nudge". It seems to me that general Pediatricians are loath to speak out about the whole-hearted embrace of disfiguring gender procedures and advocacy by organizations such as CHCO, AAP, WPATH and HHS. Vice President JD Vance spoke in Munich recently about the dangers of squelching free speech. It is our moral duty to stand up for what is objectively and obviously true and proper, to decry the great disservice that the medical profession is inflicting on children while claiming they are protecting them from harm. In early February when CHCO initially paused their gender altering activities, an enabling mother was cited:E.R. who has a 15-year-old transgender son who received a testosterone prescription from Children's, said she's trying to figure out how to keep a promise that he would stay safe. For now, her son looks like a typical boy of his age, but he could face assault or harassment if he runs out of medication and starts to develop more female shape, she said.TRANSLATION: She has a daughter who is pretending to be a boy and uses testosterone to produce a more male-like external appearance and is afraid that natural pubertal development will emerge and she will get breast development and probably menstruation. She is objectively NOT a boy. At the end of the day, this issue really is not a question of science. You don't need a scientific expert to see the fallacy of claiming you can turn a girl into a boy. Instead it is a question of perversion, subversion, arrogance, and ultimately morality. Advocates of puberty blockers, gender-based hormone therapy and elective mastectomies for children are perverting observable reality in pursuit of some twisted illogic. Those who push these supposed therapies are subverting parental rights and intercalating the expert into the family, between parent and child. Whinging that denying this "critically needed medical care" will cause irreversible harm is counterfactual and arrogant. Promising children that a wave of the magic hormone wand or a snip and tuck surgery will make them happy is immoral. It's akin to your child announcing he can fly and you telling him to go ahead and jump off the balcony. Shame on Children's Hospital Colorado and the TRUE Center. They are an embarrassment to the field of Pediatrics. They have abandoned their primary purpose of promoting normal maturation, growth and development. They had one job to do and they have failed. I pray that sanity returns to the fields of Pediatrics and Adolescent Medicine. It breaks my heart to see CHCO take this stance.
Dr. Schroeder is a retired pediatric physician with many years of prior professional connection to CHCO from the 1980s until his retirement in 2019, both during training and later as a faculty physician at University of Colorado School of Medicine.

From what I can see most DRs knew the COVID stuff was wrong, but they were told they would lose their jobs and medical licenses if they dissented.
And contra the notion of heroic DRs most had no interest in dealing with any sort of consequences for their ethics.
Frankly, this strongly points to how to shut these child mutilation shops down, because just as these DRs weren't going to fight the government on the clot shot they also aren't going to fight over child mutilation if the government bans it.

I agree with most of this post, but not with this. The motivation for this butchery has nothing to do with eagerness to please.
It has to with money--lots of it. These "doctors" and their hirudinean gaggle of consultants, shrinks, hacks, and hangers-on are making yuge money off this. And of course pharma is raking it in on all the hormone treatments. Big Tranny is now a significant specialty in the medical industry.
And the parents? Some rare few are bullied and shamed into it. But I think most of them are giddy with Munchausen by proxy. They adore butchering children for social status and sympathy. In many cases, these "parents" aren't even the biological parents of the poor kid in question. It's often a bitter, vindictive ex-wife taking her pound of flesh from her step-son.

2) The X chromosomes are larger then Y and so women have two full copies whereas men don't for everything, so men are prone to more genetic conditions.

When I was in college the claim was 4% based on some Kinsey study… so I looked up the Kinsey study and it was more like 1%… but even that Kinsey study was flawed. I tend to believe homosexuality is mostly a learned behavior and perhaps a very tiny percentage of people are predisposed from birth

Out of 50,000,000 minors.
They were always a statistical outlier regarding the population. Granted, those doing "affirming care" without the surgery would make it higher, and those choosing to play act it drives the numbers up even further, but that 5,000 was an eye-opener for me.
It's the difference between what cultural institutions say and what the culture is. Jazz can be on TV, dancing for old gay men, but that doesn't mean that Jazz is indicative of much more than a tiny slice of the population.

I think you're missing an important point here. A kid going through the normal teenaged alienation phase doesn't make anyone money.
However, a kid who is, say, clinically depressed, or even better, can be convinced he needs his penis chopped off, will be a lifelong high dollar customer of big pharma and big medical in general.
Now, of course, the kid isn't paying for the pills and surgeries -- everyone else is through our taxes and insurance premiums.
So it's kind of a win / win / win when you think about it.

I think the number of people that have had a homosexual experience has increased dramatically. The number of people that live the majority of their lives that way? I don't think that's increased much.
For example, I knew a bunch of "born this way" lesbians in college. And now they are all married to men.
A generation before mine social pressure would persuade most of these girls to never try going lesbian. The pressure in my generation told them to try it and they did...but then they found they didn't actually want that.

From what I've seen around this middle class neighborhood, even with hard drugs, most teens get off the drugs and go on to live normal lives. Maybe affected maybe not so much, especially if they come from a "good" home and mostly got involved with the wrong crowd then left that crowd.
So, the door is always open for a return.
The evil with gender multilation surgeries and hormone treatment is that the doctors/parents/teachers/etc purposely lock the door, the child/teen can never return to normal.
They purposely imprison the child in their delusional cage and these poor kids are prisoners for life.
Laws need to be passed or enforced and every single one of these enablers/mutilators/sadists need to be arrested, tried, and locked up for life.

I don't really buy it for two reasons:
1) I remember filling out those surveys in high school, and my friends and I always thought it was funny to say we were daily crack users or whatever. Obviously none of us had ever smoked crack.
2) I personally know several gen z women who identify as "pansexual" or "bisexual" or "demisexual" but exclusively date guys. I think it's just a social thing for them. They get plaudits for being LGBTQ AND they get to use it as a shield to play a victim if anyone is mean to them.

In my job, I interact with a lot of Gen Z kids. Despite them all being terrible at using technology, I actually have a lot of hope for their generation.
They seem to see through the bullshit in a way my generation (the millennials) never did. Probably has to do with them being raised by Gen X.

All true, but the percentage of women who have actually had sexual contact with another woman is high. In the under-30 party crowd, I'd say this kind of experimentation is north of 50%. Women can be "bisexual" and still basically be straight. The same is not true for men.

Yes, millennials will likely be the most tech savvy generation.
It happens because Gen Z grew up with iPads and apps. Millennials grew up with Windows 95 and parents who had no idea how computers worked. So we had to figure out printer drivers, how to store files, navigate the internet, etc., on our own.
So we better understand the mechanics of what's going on on a computer.
Same way my grandfather was better at working on cars and small engines than I am. He had to learn how to tinker to keep his cars running, by the time I started driving, the technology was advanced enough I never really had to learn how it worked, just THAT it worked.

I would love to see the actual numbers on this.
We're not talking about the number of people who work on a farm, but the number of people specifically picking crops at harvest, excluding people working at family farms / small organic farmers market set ups (who likely are US citizens and get paid well).
I guarantee the number is minimal. All staple crops are fully mechanized, as are most fruits and vegetables. How many people do we need to pick grapes in vineyards in California? Or nuts in Hawaii?
Let's put an actual number on it.

How many people total are we talking about across the entire US are hired to work on farms for the express purpose of harvesting crops?
Because I suspect it's a very small number of people, yet this has been one of the go-to excuses for why we need illegals for 75 years.

Not really. Pop culture uptake into regular life is lumpy and concentrated in urban redoubts. Same as other things like polyamory, sex trafficking, etc. and it varies by other cultural dividers such as race, ethnicity, religious upbringing, etc.
