Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | Steven Miller Rips Leftwing Propagandists To Their Smug Stupid FacesThe Democrats, by which I mean the media, are on the wrong side of most issues. They have the 20% side of every 80/20 split. So they are resorting to the usual lies that parties defending the indefensible are forced to resort to: First, they claim that "of course everyone is in favor of hypothetical cuts to the budget." Their only problem is with this specific cut. And this specific cut. And all of these specific cuts. In other words, they claim to support cuts in principle but every single tangible, real-world example of a cut that's presented to them is rejected completely. While they continue lying, claiming "of course everyone concedes the budget can and should be cut." Oh? Which cuts are you guys bringing to the table? You keep saying you support cuts, but then oppose every single cut that Musk or Trump mention. If every Democrat Media Operative who claims "we all support cutting the budget" actually each proposed their own unique budget cut, we'd cut the budget by one trillion dollars in a week. But of course, they won't, because they're lying. The people saying "no one debates that the budget can be trimmed" are the same people fighting to their last breath to not trim a single dime from the budget. They also avoid questions about policy, a battleground they lose decisively on, and instead ankle-bite on questions of process. This is why CNN's fat-faced propagandist Brianna Keillor (or whatever) keeps insisting that "no one is debating" whether there is bloat in the federal budget (despite debating that right in this clip). She insists that her only objection is about how it's done and who's doing it. That is, she doesn't want Musk doing it. Would she support anyone else doing the same that Musk is doing? Of course not. This entire pose is a lie. She is against cutting funding -- any funding -- but knows this is an extremely unpopular position so she just keeps making what lawyers would call "collateral attacks," arguing around the margins about this and that, with the intention of stopping the budget cuts she says that "everyone" agrees are needed. Keillor kept mounting a collateral attack on DOGE, demanding to know who was in charge of it. Steven Miller lectured this Semi-Mobile Donut Disposal Unit patiently, as if she were a child (and she does seem to have a child-level intelligence), about the very obvious and basic facts of executive authority: All executive power is imbued in a single figure, the president, who appoints officials to carry out his will throughout government. So who's in charge of DOGE? Ultimately, it's Trump. Musk is merely his agent. But the media continues demanding answers to the non-question of "Who elected Musk?" so Steven Miller took the podium at the White House briefing room to explain, once again, that no one elected Musk, just as no one elected any of the other 100,000+ officials in the US government, but Trump was in fact elected by the country and he has empowered Musk to act on his behalf, the same as he would with literally any other functionary in government. He also pointed out that the same media which now demands to know "Who's really in control of the government"? actively conspired with Biden's aides to hide his mental infirmity from the public and never once asked -- even until this day -- who was really running the Biden administration.

======= A fun tactic may be to name some undersecretary who's posted an anti-Trump meme on social media or is named in a lawsuit against Trump and then ask the reporter who elected that undersecretary. There's also the "I'm all for ending waste, fraud, and abuse, but it's all just TOO FAST!"
Like the "I'm for cuts, not these!" gambit, it's all a lie. They've given up trying to stop the cuts (that was strategy 1) and are now hoping to slow it down enough that they can drag it out to the midterm and stop them then. Posted by: Formerly Virginian at February 20, 2025 03:53 PM (N1tpc) 10

Read, illegals, scammers and other fraud who have no right to those programs billing them. Remember, every year we’re told this program’s are going bankrupt. Thinking on what the confirmation of Kash means - Trump is running the table on his nominees, which is incredible. (I will always believe there was something else going on with the short lived Gaetz nomination) So while we still rightfully worry about the attack from the Judges which is ongoing - Trump has taken charge of both the House and the Senate, and votes are going his way. There will be a lot of work with the big bill, but something will be worked out.
And with the Cabinet members being confirmed, Trump is about to take charge of the Bureaucracy. Everyone is going to be too terrified of being fired to cause too much trouble. Which leaves the Judges lawfare, but they're in an untenable position, especially with the rest of the governmet now alighning against them. There will be a lot of noise and drama still to come, especially when that Judge overturns the military tranny ban, but Trump has got the winning position. "First, they claim that "of course everyone is in favor of hypothetical cuts to the budget." Their only problem is with this specific cut. And this specific cut. And all of these specific cuts.
In other words, they claim to support cuts in principle but every single tangible, real-world example of a cut that's presented to them is rejected completely." The Democrat-Media Complex wants to force a Bipartisan Review of Every Executive Branch Item Trump Wants To Cut. To ensure no one is adversely impacted by cutting an item. Especially not the chiurrun (and any Democrat-supporting group or organization)! Performing a review of any sort of tens of thousands of items, beyond Trump and/or the responsible Cabinet Secretary making quick personal decisions, will bog-down the entire process and nothing will get cut. The bloat and fraud is so huge the only effective remedy is to cut with 20-feet wide chainsaws, then make Democrats, Catholic charities and other NGOS, and all the other grifters go through an application and review process for each little racket they want re-instated. Pi day is also the day the CR ends and congress is supposed to have a new budget. Going to be all kinds of fun if Johnson uses reconciliation to put forth a budget that spells out funding and the fed grifters can no longer whine "But Trump has no authority to slash spending that congress approved". One condition I think is needed for the U.S. to get back to solvency is that CRs instead of real budgets from congress have got to end.
So I suppose I should write to my brand new R congress critter and encourage him to join any push for a specific budget with zero USAID dollars, and every DOD dollar for DEI removed, etc. Posted by: PaleRider at February 20, 2025 04:21 PM (CKOCg) 198

They & a huge number of citizens have no objections to the countless contractors, NGOs, Foundations working for the federal government (and state and even municipal governments) that are really controlling a great deal of the agency(cies) work - both custody and control of many facets - though, perhaps, little care. Miller is a gem. He was the one that went to Sean Spicer after he got fired from his Naval position, and had the foresight to set up the law suit that would allow Trump to can a large number of functionaries. Democrat voters who haven't gone to BlueSky are trying to inform the dead-enders that if Trump's approval and the GOP in Congress are skating around 50%, the Dems in Congress are at 20%. I think most of the attacks the Left use are driven by A/B testing and identifying what "resonates" with the public. Some, maybe most, know better but they say these things because they get retweeted or liked or reactioned and support among some faction of the public.
Although a lecture on civics might work as an effective counter argument, I have doubts. I would counter with "Who voted to send $2B to Stacy Abrams to give away to friends?", "Who voted to send $20M in condoms to Burkina Faso?" Short statements that point out the absurd shit, but also make it clear that until now, most of what happens in gov. are things no one voted for and in fact many people voted against (like open borders or trans stuff.) Kash Patel made a statement after his confirmation.
FBI Director Kash Patel @FBIDirectorKash I am honored to be confirmed as the ninth Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Thank you to President Trump and Attorney General Bondi for your unwavering confidence and support. The FBI has a storied legacy—from the “G-Men” to safeguarding our nation in the wake of 9/11. The American people deserve an FBI that is transparent, accountable, and committed to justice. The politicalization of our justice system has eroded public trust—but that ends today. My mission as Director is clear: let good cops be cops—and rebuild trust in the FBI. Working alongside the dedicated men and women of the Bureau and our partners, we will rebuild an FBI the American people can be proud of. And to those who seek to harm Americans—consider this your warning. We will hunt you down in every corner of this planet. Mission First. America Always. Let’s get to work. A repeal of the Budget and Impoundment Control Act of 1974 is in order.
Posted by: TheJamesMadison ========= That may actually be unconstitutional to Scotus now as it was some of the Congressional overreach during the Watergate era. The Constitution itself is silent over whether an executive had to spend all the money allocated by Congress and until 1973, it was assumed that presidents had the power to impound (not spend money appropriated). Presidents used that power routinely which makes sense. Congress can approve spending or block spending something which is a check on the executive but demanding that the executive spend money appropriated by Congress because otherwise we have a tyranny is a non-sequitur. Same rationale that Washington used to create the precedent of firing officials and ignoring the Senate who consented to their appointments originally. Washington and every president since then have held that an executive must be able to fire someone in the executive branch if they are to be the unitary executive envisaged by the Framers. They considered something like a plural executive and explicitly rejected it. Posted by: whig at February 20, 2025 04:50 PM (ctrM5) 395

That may actually be unconstitutional to Scotus now as it was some of the Congressional overreach during the Watergate era.
Half thought it was important to get young activists into the party leadership to relate to younger, more liberal, voters. Government debt is worse, because it’s inter-generational and it’s done without the consent of the debtors. Why should we pay $1.2 trillion in interest a year just for the “privilege” of having had trillions stolen?
Posted by: Disinterested FDA Director Because once you flush the debt down the toilet, you essentially have lost any ability to borrow money at a reasonable rate for a very long time. With our current trade deficit, they would demand cash up front of about 1 trillion or so of gold or solid currencies. Debt repudiation gets really tricky for a reserve currency country and it is unlikely to ever be formally repudiated. The only other route is inflation which eventually ends the reserve currency status anyway plus sells your country out to the lowest bidder. We got into it slowly and we will have to climb out of it slowly. Life is unfair but each of us has only our time in the sun to do our part to make it less so. The Grand Staircase–Escalante National Monument in Utah was was established in 1996 by President Bill Clinton.
Jug-Ears' monument envy resulted in Organ Mountain National Monument being establish in 2014 in southern New Mexico. Feeling all sporty he then went on to screw Utah by establishing the Bears Ears National Monument in 2016. The other day, while I was at work, my sister stole my apple ipad and
tested to see if it can survive a 30 foot drop, just so she can be a youtube sensation. My apple ipad is now destroyed and she has 83 views. I know this is totally off topic but I had to share it with someone! Posted by: Lincoln at March 06, 2025 01:00 AM (ocpRX) Processing 0.09, elapsed 0.0977 seconds. |
