Poll: Only 22% Approve of Congressional Democrats' Job Performance, Putting Them at a Net -46% Approval

The only reason they're voting for Trump's nominees is fear of Trump and Musk coming after them:GOP senators are terrified over the prospect of facing primary challengers funded by Elon Musk if they stick their necks out by opposing President Trump's agenda. "They're reacting to it because they love the pace of change. They were very fed up over the last four years. They wanted action. They wanted results. They looked at prices. They looked at affordability. They looked at immigration. And they didn't see anything happening," Luntz said. "They still don't like what he says, but they like what he does. And these are Democrats now who felt that they were not securing the border. They were doing nothing to prevent illegal immigration, that nothing was actually happening." Trump immediately took action after being sworn in to his second term on Jan. 20, signing over 200 executive actions within 12 hours, addressing issues ranging from the border crisis to the economy. "They wanted to see a reduction in wasteful Washington spending. And they're seeing that. So what they tell me is, 'I wish he would be a little bit less rude,' but at the same time, they like what he's doing," Luntz continued. "They believe he's serious about it. And for the first time, they have confidence in the future, which is why you now see some significant shifts in the polling about the expectations for the direction in the coming years."

The framing for a while was decidedly partisan, going from W to Obama, but Obama, not being well-known and new to DC, was seen as someone outside the machine (he was just part of the Chicago machine which took over the DC machine).
After that, the GOP bungled things with a technocrat in Romney against Obama (though, again, I think 2012 was stolen), feeding the idea that "outsider" meant "outside of the party in power".
And then, in 2016, Trump clarified to the American people that no, you didn't need to be part of the system. You could find outsiders...outside of the system, and he blew everything up just by being an outsider with a shot.
Now, the outsider is running things while the entire insider apparatus is still against him.
Of course, Trump's popularity isn't going to dip now. He's still the outsider, and now he's fighting offensively against the insiders instead of defensively like in his first term.

As detailed here by yours truly often in 2017. Trump, kind of good on branding, has spent the better part of a decade nearly singlehandedly remaking both parties in the eyes of the public.
He cornered them on every major issue and forced them to embrace their crazy even more than they already were - essentially turning their strength, being a bunch of crazed fucking idiots forcing their insane bullshit on everyone in lockstep, like it or not - into a weakness by offering a reasonable alternative, or at least one palatable to a plurality, on practically every single major issue.
So while the Dems pointed their fingers every day and told you he was crazy, chaotic, out of control, bizarre, etc, he stood firm, didn't waver or buckle unless absolutely forced, and let them gradually show themselves for what they really are.
But it was probably all a big accident because he's an idiot and really wanted to put his liberal sister on the Supreme Court if only the Left hadn't been mean to him.

He so very vain... bad poll numbers and public opinion matter a great deal to him. Sadly, all he has to do is claim his poll numbers are much higher, and those poll numbers are fake
It's 47% for his "best" issue: immigration. That's not particularly good. And of course, 44% approval for a new President is historically low. No honeymoon period. You know the corporate media is dying to call him "popular" but I think they're gonna have to normalize him some more before they can do that.
So depressing that the number isn't more like 22%. 44% of Americans are brain-dead.

As more and more corruption gets exposed, we may well see quite a few of these corrupt politicians getting either prosecuted, allowed to resign in lieu of prosecution, or suddenly becoming oddly cooperative (having secretly turned on their puppet masters). Practically all Dems, and about half of Republicans.
Anybody notice how this is going down with the organization and speed of a military operation? It seems pretty obvious that it's the biggest counterinsurgency operation in history.
Just imagime what's going to happen after the 2026 elections, when a much higher fraction of Congress are actually working for their constituents. That's when everything Trump is doing can be made permanent.

I doubt it. Even the ones mostly true probably had nonsense in them. Too many people had too much to gain, and no neutral party was reporting that I could see.
Honest reporting would note that Russia is run by a crime boss who wants to grab land from all his neighbors and Ukraine is run by a cabal of world leaders using the place to launder money and enrich themselves, run by a dictator served by Nazi troops. There is no good guy here, except maybe the people of Ukraine and Russia caught in the middle and dying for their leaders.

That's pretty much what Jay Hammond did with the Alaska Permanent Fund, way back when. A small portion is dedicated to annual individual payouts, which means that any politician who proposes raiding the Permanent Fund is buying a one-way ticket to Tar-and-feather-ville.
The Fund is still intact, more than 40 years later. In fact, it's grown a lot, even accounting for inflation.

Actually, the Vatican has always had a quiet contempt for American Catholics. Freedom of religion is fundamentally counter to the church, and American Catholics (not understanding Catholicism very well) think religious issues should be VOTED ON. They don't understand that you're supposed to shut up and believe whatever the church authorities tell you.
