Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | Trump Takes the Presidential Limo Out for a Lap Around the Daytona Race TrackPresident Donald Trump received cheers from the crowd at Daytona International Speedway as Air Force One landed at the airport ahead of his arrival for the Daytona 500 on Sunday. The president's plane flew over the speedway before it landed at Daytona International Airport. Cheers from the crowd were heard on the FOX broadcast as the pre-race hosts talked to Chase Elliott. NASCAR fans and drivers watched as the plane flew over the track. Trump released a statement ahead of landing at the airport. He will be the first sitting president to attend two Daytona 500 races at Daytona International Speedway. He attended the race the first time in February 2020. "This iconic race showcases the fastest, most fearless drivers in motorsports, who represent our Nation's love of tradition, competition, and automotive innovation," the statement read. "The Daytona 500 brings together people from all walks of life--from lifelong racing fans to first-time spectators--they all join in celebrating a shared passion for speed, adrenaline, and the thrill of the race. "From the roar of the engines on the track to the echo of 'The Star-Spangled Banner' soaring through the stands, the Daytona 500 is a timeless tribute to the speed, strength, and unyielding spirit that make America great. That spirit is what will fuel America's Golden Age, and if we harness it, the future is truly ours." The president was seen riding around the track in The Beast before he chatted with NASCAR drivers and legendary racer Richard Petty. He was on hand for the singing of the national anthem. He thanked U.S. military members for their service in his statement. "Since the very beginning, NASCAR has carried forth a proud tradition of honoring our heroic Service members for their unwavering courage," the statement added. "While fans from around the world gather today at Daytona International Speedway, we extend our unending gratitude to the selfless men and women in uniform who risk their lives to keep us safe. When the engines start or the checkered flag waves, and all 500 thrilling miles in between, our Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, Marines, Coast Guardsmen, and Guardians stand ready to defend cherished traditions like this--and for that, we are truly thankful. "Melania and I send our best wishes for a safe and successful race. May God bless our Armed Forces, and may He continue to bless the United States of America."
My first reaction to this was, "Cool." But my second reaction was, "This risks overexposure." Americans like their politicians like they like their children, seen but not heard. But my third reaction is: Good. The left used regime change "color revolution" tactics against Trump in his first term, sowing doubt about whether he was the real legitimate president. They're doing that again, though it's harder this time. So I think it's okay to fight fire with fire. When rebellions attempt to displace a leader, standard tactics are to get on TV and declare oneself president over and over again. It's all third-world theatrics, but the left has brought this nation down to a third-world level. And, anyway, it was pretty cool watching him go around the track in the limo. A related interesting point: obviously, this was done with the full support and cooperation of Nascar.
Nascar's been at least woke-curious for years. They embarrassingly squealed like fucked pigs over the fake "noose" incident. Any time they're accused by some humgruffin of some fake racial outrage, they bend the knee. But now Nascar throws down with Trump in a splashy, showy celebration at one of their biggest events. Maybe it signals a return to "American as apple pie" form for Nascar. Posted by: Elric Blade at February 17, 2025 01:55 PM (iFTx/) 100

I watched the final two thirds of the race, just out of curiosity. What type of sport is it when the best drivers/cars of the day all get taken out in the final laps, just to have the guy sitting 9th on the final lap come in first? Isn't that like two nba teams sitting all their starters for the fourth quarter, just to see which team has a better bench that day? What a joke. I would bet good money that SCOTUS clerks have let district clerks know that their bosses are about to have their courts shoved up their asses. Dutifully, the district court clerks have told their bosses in no uncertain terms that they are going to publicly humiliated if they continue.
Posted by: rickb223 at February 17, 2025 02:18 PM (Z9s5G) Dems are busy trying to create an actual Constitutional crises through Lawfare. Luckily most Judges don't seem to be falling for it... but, sadly, some are. One thing they are going to have to look at are Consent decrees... ie, someone sues the administration, and the admin wants to roll over and surrender, so they sign a contract via a Judge to do some silly shit with Civil Rights, the Unions, or Enviro shit. Now, can a LATER President be held to a consent decree, that limits his own Constitutional Powers? This is a case right now with the Consumer Finance Board, where a Consent Decree signed by Biden says the President can't limit their funding, or fire anyone. Posted by: kallisto at February 17, 2025 02:30 PM (61FSW) BRICS is not so much a currency as it is a hard money international exchange system to challenge the USD and SWIFT. It was made necessary by the US excluding Russia, Iran and threatening other countries from participating in SWIFT and embargoing their banking. It will continue as long as there is concern of this happening again. You may dislike it, but you either have to live with it or make sure it is not necessary to survive. Just as an example, BRICS is supposed to be based on an actual "basket" of assets that can be used to back an international exchange currency held by the member states, much like Trump's proposed Sovereign wealth fund for the US. They would be fools to do anything otherwise while that threat is over their heads, and the ones that go along want to be in on what could be exclusive market access. The USD will survive mostly out of Network Effect - every country uses it or doesn't trade, it is that useful. There are other problems with that, and I suspect the USD will split to "US only dollars" and "International Petro-dollars" in a way that is similar to the Chinese Yuan and Remb-whatever. Fox News,Obama library, begun with lofty DEI goals, now plagued by $40M racially charged suit, ballooning costs
Michael Dorgan,Sun, February 16, 2025 NY Times, The Obama Presidential Library That Isn’t By Jennifer Schuessler,Feb. 20, 2019 The Obama Presidential Center promises to be a presidential library like no other. "The four-building, 19-acre “working center for citizenship,” set to be built in a public park on the South Side of Chicago, will include a 235-foot-high “museum tower,” a two-story event space, an athletic center, a recording studio, a winter garden, even a sledding hill. But the center, which will cost an estimated $500 million, will also differ from the complexes built by Barack Obama’s predecessors in another way: It won’t actually be a presidential library. In a break with precedent, there will be no research library on site, and none of Mr. Obama’s official presidential records. Instead, the Obama Foundation will pay to digitize the roughly 30 million pages of unclassified paper records from the administration so they can be made available online." (Much more.) BTW, to be ran by a private, non-profit foundation. Of course. Posted by: L - No nic, another fine day at February 17, 2025 02:49 PM (NFX2v) 413

I think that is the unanimous opinion. Trivia: He was the first black comic book superhero without "black" in his name (Black Lightning, Black Panther, etc etc). He was just Falcon and happened to be black but that wasn't his defining characteristic. Everyone liked him as Falcon. But Mackie doesn't have the charisma to lead a movie and has no real backstory or hook. He's just the sidekick. Apparently this movie doesn't give him any character either, which is too bad. Donald J. Trump
@realDonaldTrump On Trade, I have decided, for purposes of Fairness, that I will charge a RECIPROCAL Tariff meaning, whatever Countries charge the United States of America, we will charge them - No more, no less! For purposes of this United States Policy, we will consider Countries that use the VAT System, which is far more punitive than a Tariff, to be similar to that of a Tariff. Sending merchandise, product, or anything by any other name through another Country, for purposes of unfairly harming America, will not be accepted. In addition, we will make provision for subsidies provided by Countries in order to take Economic advantage of the United States. Likewise, provisions will be made for Nonmonetary Tariffs and Trade Barriers that some Countries charge in order to keep our product out of their domain or, if they do not even let U.S. businesses operate. We are able to accurately determine the cost of these Nonmonetary Trade Barriers. It is fair to all, no other Country can complain and, in some cases, if a Country feels that the United States would be getting too high a Tariff, all they have to do is reduce or terminate their Tariff against us... TROLAMINE (UNII: 9O3K93S3TK) - 0.47 g in 100 g. Is that a bad thing? Posted by: Braenyard - some Absent Friends are more equal than others _ at February 17, 2025 02:43 PM (Yvxvb) _____________ No. Trolamine is triethanolamine, which is easily protonated to form the triethanolammonium cation. That is useful as a counterion to various anions to promote transfer across the skin. For example triethanolammonium salicylate is a skin-permeable version of aspirin, whereas e.g., sodium salicylate (ordinary aspirin) is not.
