Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | New Leftist Attack on Musk and Trump: Trump Is Buying $400,000,000 of Armored Tesla Cybertrucks in a Corrupt PayoffThere is such a deal. There's just one problem with this claim: The State Department inked the deal to buy these electric trucks on December 13, 2024. When Biden was "president."![]() The State Department's procurement forecast, revised as of late December 2024, lists Tesla as the recipient of the largest expected contract, with Marco Rubio's department planning to buy $400,000,000 worth of "Armored Tesla." The award is targeted for Q4, and is forecast to last for five years. The procurement forecast is listed as having been modified on December 13, 2024, a month after Donald Trump's election. The State Department did not immediately respond to a request for comment. Under the heading, "extent competed," the document reads merely "TBD."Does Grim mean to say that everyone knows Trump was the Real President during this period? This is deliberate disinformation. Will GARM be instructing advertisers to boycott her disinformation and conspiracy theory show, or nah? Nah, right? Comments(Jump to bottom of comments)1

Buh-bye. Hopefully not quite buh-bye just yet. Unlike for civilians, military personnel violating a lawful order is a criminal offense. He needs to be tried, convicted, and then discharged. How much would an armored Tesla weigh and what sort of wear would that put on roads? I understand even 'normal' electric vehicles are rather heavy and wear out tires and roads. Adding armor is NOT going to improve matters.
For that matter, what sort of range would an armored Tesla have? It may have tremendous armor but if it comes up ten miles short of 'safe', that's not very useful. Posted by: JB1000 at February 14, 2025 06:19 PM (U0iyS) 181

There is a lot of history and monkey business with the rear admiral rank. Originally, it came from the Royal Navy. In formation, the big admiral was in the middle of the line, the #2, vice-admiral was at the front, and the #3 admiral was in the rear of the formation. At one time, all rear admirals had two-stars. This pissed off the Army, where a 1-star Brigadeire general would have seniority over some new rear admiral, but yet the latter had more stars. And then there was the business with commodores. You can read up on that if interested. Posted by: publius, Rascally Mr. Miley (w6EFb) at February 14, 2025 06:22 PM (w6EFb) 186

How much would an armored Tesla weigh and what sort of wear would that put on roads? I understand even 'normal' electric vehicles are rather heavy and wear out tires and roads. Adding armor is NOT going to improve matters.

George Washington never wore more than 3-stars. In 1776, as part of the bicentennial stuff, they decided it was wrong for any other officer to outrank Washington, so he was posthumously promoted to "6-star", General of the Armies rank. Well, the law says that Washington will never be outranked, so technically, he will automatically be promoted to whatever is the highest rank yet created. #180 The Cybertruck is about 1000 pounds heavier than a Chevy Suburban. Secret Service Suburban with armor weighs 10000 to 15000 pounds, so add 1000 to that. No big deal.
Range for a police Cybertruck is 325 miles. Expect less with the armor. But Tesla is going to make an extra battery for Cybertruck that makes the base truck able to go 500+ miles and that would be a great idea for this. https://up.fit/tesla-tactical/ Posted by: mr_jack at February 14, 2025 07:16 PM (siEGU) 226
#181 My daily driver gets the equivalent of over 100 MPG. Its battery pack holds energy equivalent to about 3 gallons of gas but the car can drive over 300 miles.
My car emits zero emissions while I am driving it, and I can charge it from solar power to run with zero emissions. A gasoline car always needs gasoline but an EV can run on clean power when it's available. And if you took the crude oil and burned it in a power plant and my car used the power, my car would be cleaner per mile than a gas car. My car took more energy to build than a gas car, but at the end of life the battery pack will be recycled, and there's no way to recycle burned gasoline.
