The media's new talking point is that Trump and Musk are presenting claims of fraud "without evidence."
No evidence at all!Not only were we paying double the usual occupancy rates, but this hotel is literally owned by the government of Pakistan.
Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem has successfully clawed back $59 million dollars in payments that were inappropriately sent to house illegal aliens at the Roosevelt Hotel in New York City last week. The hotel is owned by the government of Pakistan. "Secretary Noem has clawed back the full payment that FEMA deep state activists unilaterally gave to NYC migrant hotels. FEMA was funding the Roosevelt Hotel that serves as a Tren de Aragua base of operations and was used to house Laken Riley's killer. There will not be a single penny spent that goes against the interest and safety of the American people," DHS released in a statement Wednesday. The FEMA employees who made the payments have been fired. "Effective immediately, FEMA is terminating the employment of four individuals for circumventing leadership to unilaterally make egregious payments for luxury NYC hotels for migrants. Firings include FEMA's Chief Financial Officer, two program analysts and a grant specialist," DHS released in a statement Tuesday. "Under President Trump and Secretary Noem's leadership, DHS will not sit idly and allow deep state activists to undermine the will and safety of the American people."The media keeps demanding "evidence" that the Biden Remnant is spending money fraudulently. "Within 30 days of this order Agency heads shall submit to the director of the [OMB] a report that identifies any statutes that establish the agency, or subcomponents of the agency, as statutorial required entities. The report shall discuss whether the agency or any of its subcomponents should be eliminated or consolidated."
Cutting the administrative state back down to the statutory minimum seems to be the goal through Executive action.
That doesn't get put back together again with a series of EOs day 1 of a Democrat presidency.

The answer is actually pretty simple. If you make an emergency stop order without an emergency and both sides involved, if the stop order is overturned you must leave the bench at once. Permanently.
If you make one that IS sustained you are enjoined from another one for one calendar year. It still isn't good to not allow one side to argue its case.
Otherwise you are limited to three injunctions in a calendar year aside from routine ones (if any).
This comes mostly from PJ ORourke's kidney rule. That you should have to give up a kidney for making a new law. You can do one easy enough, but two takes a lot of thought.

Living document students had to do a fast 180 or they got roasted alive. Was interesting to see the old man at work. The demographic and retirement problem will be very hard. Part of the reason I am less worried about China as a rival. They have a lot of power, and wealth but they have issues that will cause a lot of investment to go into the country itself or disorder will result.

Yep, and that is also absolutely chock full of fraud. For some reason, the Chinese love this visa type.
Basically, you get 50 Chinese citizens together to build an apartment building in Queens. You build the cheapest, shittiest building imaginable, because who cares. You employ however many people (on paper) you need to build the place.
The people who bought the visas come here and get employed by the company that built the building (to get some of their investment back).
Rinse, repeat.

I thought about that with Pope Benedict, too. A quiet scholar who called investigated pedophiles and declared them "the sum of the Church". He wrote so clearly about faith that his books were very eye opening to a lot of lukewarm Christians, nit just Catholics. I know people who think he was forced to resign, but they didn't know he was already blind in one eye when he was elected and had already researched the precedent of a papal resignation.
This current pope brought my bff's father back to attending a church. I imagine there are other cases where Francis had a positive effect that only God knows. Plus, I'd never had known the wisdom of Cardinal Sarah if he hadn't had to speak up against the pope's remarks!

Gays used the seminaries as their bath houses while they were underground. Now that they are sucking of the government teer (the only time they would go near one) they are becoming VERY wealthy. The distribution of income for LGBTQetc looks like the wealth distribution for Jews (Indians also have that distribution - theirs is due to racial nepotism). Gays also have sexual nepotism. They give each other high paying jobs.
Under Trump hopefully that gravy train is coming to an end.

Sure looks like it. They're ruling based on emotion and political angst, they really have no constitutional arguments to claim that the Bureaucracy is an independent 4th branch of Government (which is what they believe.
And I believe the SCOTUS has to decide for Trump's position, because to allow every executive decision to be micromanaged by one judge or another is madness.

Major part of the ruling is "The President of the United States cannot be restrained by injunction from carrying into effect an act of Congress alleged to be unconstitutional, nor will a bill having such a purpose be allowed to be filed."
Basically it was a nuisance suit alleging on the behalf of the unreconstructed Mississippi government that Johnson was illegally enforcing the Reconstruction Acts passed by Congress. They sought an injunction to forbid him from doing so and the court rejected that idea by noting faithful execution of the law by the President was involved--not a ministerial act.

Family legend says one of my g-g grandfathers is thought to not have bothered formally getting citizenship and voted. In Michigan, I think.

Back in the day the Byzantine Emperor selected three candidates for the position of Patriarch of Constantinople which usually meant he could get someone he could work with by having the other two be really stinky.
I don't know the history of the selection to know if this is just a way to keep them from being arrested and martyred. There has been plenty of history of keeping your head down and ignoring politics to serve the congregation as best you can.

I saw a real in-depth study into Jesus' address of Peter, and it was illuminating.
While I've never argued with Catholics for interpreting what they do, I don't agree with the Catholic interpretation and I'm a lot more Sola Scriptura.
I don't' think you can prove that the Bible is literally right on every account, but I believe it is the best way to see what God intended it to mean.
