Google Calendar Deletes Black History Month and, Get This, "Pride" Month; Google Maps Includes the "Gulf of America"
LOL. I mean they are, but not in the way these idiots think. Here's Google's explanation: They tried meet the left's demand for an identity-based holiday every other day, but found it was impossible to keep up when the left just kept adding more and more Identity Days to the calendar.
Google Calendar has removed cultural celebrations like Black History Month, Women's History Month and Pride Month as President Trump cracks down on diversity, equity and inclusion policies. The calendar has also erased Indigenous People Month, Jewish Heritage Month, Holocaust Remembrance Day and Hispanic Heritage Month from its pages, as earlier reported by The Verge. Google users attacked the calendar changes, and accused the tech company of trying to curry favor with Trump. "Calendar used to capitulate to fascism," one user wrote on Google's Calendar Help page. "This is shameful. Reinstate these calendar dates!!!" "These bootlickers have immediately shown us who they are," another user wrote on the help page. "I thought I was the only one who noticed! Let's spread the word! Google are Nazi sympathizers."

While avoiding legal culpability is also a motivation, I think they, like the smarter Dems, know that this DEI stuff is poison. In the interest of pointing out misinformation. In Dec 2023 there was a decision by the World Court, that gave water above land shelves to those countries and ruled they were not international water. The renaming of the Gulf of America isn't renaming the whole gulf. It is renaming the area above our land shelves as our territory. You can't exactly put signs or border walls in the middle of the ocean. So for legal reasons, we need to identify these new changes on the map, so that new borders are made clear to maritime traffic. Those new maps will set the latitude and longitudes of where our border begins, or the Gulf of America. So all maritime traffic knows when they are leaving international waters. This is where knowing what is happening in the world, will help you filter out drama, and help you understand the legalities in your own country. This had nothing to do with Trump's ego, he is strengthening our borders and making sure all maritime traffic understands the changes that happened in 2023. Putting legal protections in place to help us enforce any military actions or incursion in the future.

A Yale law professor says Vice President J.D. Vance is right: the federal judge who blocked the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) from exposing wasteful spending by the Treasury Department violated the U.S. Constitution.
On Saturday, Judge Paul Engelmayer sided with 19 pro-waste state attorneys general who filed a lawsuit against the President Trump-created, Elon Musk-led DOGE seeking to prevent scrutiny of how Treasury is spending taxpayer dollars.
Judge Engelmayer issued a temporary injunction preventing DOGE and Treasury officials from examining Treasure expenditures – and declared that the Democrats have a strong case for a permanent ban.
However, as Vice President Vance wrote on X.com (formerly Twitter), judges don’t have the legal authority to dictate the actions of generals, prosecutors and the president:
“If a judge tried to tell a general how to conduct a military operation, that would be illegal.
“If a judge tried to command the attorney general in how to use her discretion as a prosecutor, that's also illegal.

So, a ratio of less than 1:8 admins to teachers.
Seems...high to me.

Hmmm, how to phrase this. Pride is a sin. (there is a side argument to be had about trumpeting a sin as a foundational good thing.) However, there is nothing wrong with having self worth. Of having respect and reverence to those who have come before. And taking strength from that.
However, modern views on 'pride' is not usually in the positive aspects. It is not... 'we stood down the turks at the battle of Lepanto' it is more in the vein of 'look at this terrible thing that happened to us.' Now, shared hardship can ALSO be unifying, but it does far less to confer self worth.
There seems to be an element of this to Jews as well (I am just jumping on landmines) but with Judaism (as tribe) it is more complex. They can point to accomplishments as well as shared horror and pain. I have sometimes wondered whether modern leftism with Pride and so forth are trying to turn more subgroups and give them the moral authority that they believe Jews possess. The problem is they focus on the hardship or tragedy instead of the positive.

Personally I would divide administration into teaching side and business side. One does not need to be an 'educator' to pay bills and purchase items, merely have bizness smarts. On the teaching side, one does need to have subject area knowledge because one cannot actually evaluate teaching staff if the evaluator is more ignorant than the staff that they are evaluating for content knowledge and pedagogy.

TRO's require an extraordinary (in fed courts) remedy of a writ of mandamus (an order by a higher court for a judge to follow the law). Usually, higher courts will reject premature writs as not ripe for adjudication.
As you note, better use of resources to let the TRO run out and then counterpunch after the permanent injunction is handed down along with the correct evidentiary record to avoid ripeness justiciability problems.

Not normally granted by appellate courts due to the lack of record to base the appeal upon (not ripe for consideration). One can ask for reconsideration of a TRO by a judge also but that is not an appeal technically.
Prior to 1976, a lot of problems were resolved by requiring three district court panels to review federal laws for unconstitutionality and those three judge panels had an appeal route (not writ of cert) to Scotus bypassing the usual detour through Courts of Appeal.
That now only applies in redistricting cases since 1976.

Looks like about 54 Million K-12 students in both private and public schools... or a bit over 14 students per teacher...
Military theory and testing shows that you can't really supervise more than 8 to 10 Men with one Supervisor (reason for Squads)...
Now, we pay an average of $15K per student... so even 10 students per classroom seems like you could pay a teacher $100K with 50% overhead for the classroom...

Well stated. It's always dangerous to view one's self as a victim. It is possible to acknowledge one's hardships, even injustice done, and seek retribution that does not bank on how "right" one is to seek it.
The weird thing about all of this is the notion of pride, and where that becomes useful. I think gay men, to a large extent, succeeded beyond their expectations at getting people to accept that they had reason to be proud. But pride is a feeling, and it should not be held tight. You can feel it, then let it go. Get back to doing whatever you were doing, but holding on to it gives you a shield that ends up causing you to think you can do no wrong.

The literal interpretation of the order would have been unconstitutional on its face and thus no need for an appellate court to go into the facts. Reverse and remand which the courts used to do routinely during the deseg era.

She called one night at 10 PM. Was really mad. Blamed her daughter, which is actually the one that put her in the facility. We went the following weekend to see her and all the pictures had been removed from the walls. We didn't find any pictures of her daughter, so we guess she threw them away.

True. If you choose to celebrate historical events, why not do so on the day they occurred. You could have a calendar which contained the dates when significant doings by blacks happened, should that be a point of interest, but saying "we shall celebrate black on this month" is silly.

I suspect that there is more bloat than can be imagined.
Using the Twitter model, which is an ostensibly for-profit Company with that bottom line feedback mechanism, what was it like 75 % were canned and the company continued if not thrived?
We could easily cut half the federal workforce, including all of the staff budgets and aids and still function if not thrive. Whether entitlement could be tackled at such a rate is questionable.

There are two versions of the series "The Dawns Here Are Quiet," one from 2015, the other from 1972.
I've seen all of the 2015 version, and thought it was fantastic. I saw half of the 1972 version, and in some ways it's superior. Soviet propaganda, to be sure, but man, what a way to do propaganda.

One of those examples that when the true greats run into a complete retard, they can do crazy shit (see also Hannibal v Varro at Cannae. Caesar v Pompey at Pharsalus is a better example that even a great can get punched in the mouth and fall apart. The potent question around now is: Does the judiciary have the authority over Article II powers?
Everything being argued, from buyouts of federal employees to web pages on executive agency websites to the dispersal of moneys that explicitly outlined by Congress fall under Article II. And here comes little corners of Article III (well, not really, created by Congress but still sort of part of Article III) telling Article II that it can't run things internally like that.
It's stupid, all doomed to die.
It should be recalled that the lawfare resistance ultimately lost, really badly, in the Muslim Ban fracas when it got to SCOTUS.

The only question is how far will they go.
As in, limiting it to "the executive has the authority" or going so far as to say, "public sector unions are unconstitutional because they infringe on the chief executive's authority over the executive branch."
This is not going to be a close ruling, and it's going to end up opening up the floodgates on Trump being able to fire anyone and everyone in the executive branch for any reason. Civil service laws will be dead.
And good riddance. Spoils system > what we have now.

Everything being argued, from buyouts of federal employees to web pages on executive agency websites to the dispersal of moneys that explicitly outlined by Congress fall under Article II. And here comes little corners of Article III (well, not really, created by Congress but still sort of part of Article III) telling Article II that it can't run things internally like that.
It's stupid, all doomed to die.
It should be recalled that the lawfare resistance ultimately lost, really badly, in the Muslim Ban fracas when it got to SCOTUS.

A useful concurrence (which is very rare) is Justice Jackson's concurrence in Youngstown Steel and Tube v. Sawyer (Korean War era Truman seizure of steel industry). He lays out the three conditions of how to judge presidential power--highest deference by judicial is President and Congress act together, next highest is President acts and Congress is indifferent, and the last is when Congress is hostile and the President relies on his Core Article II powers.
We are in Jackson's condition two right now as Congress is not acting

Sure, the slaves being freed in Texas is arguably worthy of note in Texas. That's not when the slaves were freed nationwide.
In fact, the last slaves freed in what is now the United States were the ones held by the Tlingit tribe in Alaska. They were automatically freed on October 18, 1867 (more than two full years after "Juneteenth") when the US took possession of Alaska from Russia.
But we're never going to see a federal holiday for that, you can bet.
