My wife, before we started dating, was semi-dating this guy who was a big libertarian/Constitution party member. Total jerk actually... he didn't call my wife, his girlfriend, for months... then when he found out we had dated and gotten engaged he got all upset. In any event, he had gotten a parking or speeding ticket. So he went to the county clerks office to pay the fine, and just dumped a bucket of unwrapped pennies on the desk. It was like 92 dollars worth of unwrapped, loose pennies. And the poor clerks had to sit and count them all. Took all of the office the rest of the day. I laugh and cringe about that story alot. The idiot in SD NY, has made a decision so broad as to forbid Treasury appointed agency heads from reviewing information. He did it ex parte and on a weekend.
Likely to get bitch slapped by higher courts this week.
Simply put, judges do not control spending nor auditing of spending and they are going to learn that the hard way. I halfway expect some of them are so hysterical because they or their family are getting some of that loot from the government. Makes for poor decision making.

So I'd feel a lot more comfortable if Trump issued a companion order stating that all businesses (at least all consumer businesses) must accept cash, including any pennies currently in circulation, as legal tender (as our money states).

The breaking point with the judges will cause massive upheaval in the country as the majority of the citizenry is unprepared for it. It requires Trump to publicly state that, with the exception of the EO regarding birthright citizenship, these judges do not have the authority to order what they have ordered and so, while he will let the courts provide their various opinions through appeals and whatnot, he won't sit around for months while the bureaucracy continues to defraud the public.

The Federal judiciary is a den of vipers. It has no authority to stop a President from administering the Executive branch. Nor do they have any authority to hear any appeals relating to this.
The GOP Congress needs to slap them down. Hard. Dissolve the circuit and district courts. Strip SCOTUS of its appellate jurisdiction. Put them in time out.
If John Roberts doesn’t like it he shouldn’t have let his branch be overrun with Democrat activists who thwart the Constitution.

On tried to create all kinds of orders for some J6 political prisoners who had their sentences commuted, just declared stuff like "you cannot go to some parts of Washington DC". The DOJ wrote the judge and said "vacate that, you cannot place any conditions on their release."

I don't think it is necessarily bad or silly. We got rid of the 1/s penny. To me, it addresses a larger issue of how tender our physical currency is? Is it only going to be usable in third world countries or can we expect to actually use it for consumer transactions in our own country. 1. It isn't about enforcing immigration and naturalization laws it's about interpreting the Constitution. The legitimacy of Marbury v. Madison notwithstanding, that's the judiciary's job.
2. I don't think there's an honest way for the judge to say "this order is unconstitutional but we'll let you enforce it while the courts argue about it".
3. The short-term impact of the stay is less than most of the others.

Party splits are less dangerous in our system than in most others but it does increase the power of the most extreme party. In our current system 3rd parties either can't win a vote anywhere and don't matter, or this splinter group needs to moderate and make deals with the top 2 parties.

Something to be thought about, USAID was the principle money source for funds being washed through NGOs and charities and grants, but US monies were not the only source. The EU and the member states on their own pay out gobs of money to this and that, and Trump's audits are not even looking in that direction yet.
If we see the EU or the Brits or the EU Member states starting to sell off assets, well, we can see some liquidations of assets to support something that isn't covered by taxing and money printing.

I can tell you that multiple names on an SSN, and SSNs being actively employed in multiple states is no biggie to the issuing agency as long as taxes are paid correctly.
It does suck when the original user of the SSN is garnished for taxes not earned in another state, but that is often just considered no biggie for the garnishing agency

As a business owner, I have thought about not accepting cash. It is a tough call because credit card processing fees are onerous, but I don’t want to keep a lot of cash on hand, either. Sexist as this may be, I want to minimize being a target for shenanigans. My entire team is made up of women and none of us are imposing figures by any stretch of the imagination. There are times we are there by ourselves- I am there a lot by myself. I have security cameras very visible and all over the place, but still.

Although in (some) fairness, at the time the court's jurisdiction was much more limited, and generally involved only "cases and controversies" involving discrete parties. It wasn't until many decades later the court's jurisdiction drastically expanded and became basically a super-legislature.
