Vibe Shift: Trump Cheered, Taylor Swift Booed at Super Bowl

Happy Monday!

People are done being scolded and even terrorized by these monsters.

Trump got a lot of cheers as he came out to greet the players, who wanted to shake hands with him. That used to be normal but the anti-civilizational savages of the left made it -- past tense -- mandatory to publicly rebuke Trump.

Their power is over.

Many people liked this pro-life ad that ran during the game:

Even better was the very loud booing that Taylor Swift got:

I think Taylor Swift just became uncool. I mean, she was always terrible. But I think the common take on her is now "fame-whore has-been."

She's been uncool for years. She was able to force her way back into the cultural limelight mostly because of hyperactive 12-year-old girls, the dearth of competition in that music sphere, and flood-the-zone PR.

How she got anyone to give a rat's ass about her and that powerbottom douche Travis Kelce is beyond me, but she did. The power of marketing. But I think she's now over-saturated, and people have had enough.

Capital One commercials, big name movies, positive progaganda, they all followed the sellout. Not a coincidence.

I worked for a consulting firm that had an absolute requirement that both the employee and the employee's supervisor had to independently write the employee's performance review.

90% of the time, the two reviews tracked each other pretty closely - the interesting cases were the 10% of the time where opinions sharply diverged.

198 My teenage daughter is a low key "Swiftie" and even they'll admit she's incredibly uncool now in their peer group.

It would be like being a Michael Jackson fan in the mid-90's

I think the Swift endorsement hurt Harris and helped Trump, not surprised there was a surge of young men supporting Trump. Sick of what she represents.

I disliked Taylor Swift before she got political, she's incredibly toxic. Like an Eminem that feels she has to diss every person that's ever wronged her in a song.

Posted by: Leupold at February 10, 2025 12:48 PM (4pwAx)

199 Bottom line, though: Taylor is a lovely woman, she has a good deal of stage presence, she is (or was) capable of writing decent lyrics, and she's a successful businesswoman to boot.

The thing about Swift is that she isn't in the top 1000 female singers in America.

But...she is a ruthless and effective business woman and has figured out how to sell her products/music to women that want to feel younger then they are.

I don't really say this as a knock, while she did get started with her parents buying her entry into the industry she's been one of the top business women in America in recent memory.

First, you have to hate America. Next, you have to blame white people for everything bad that happens to Black people, and view white people as irredeemable, evil beings.

Having a significant understanding of the stupid, ongoing feud between Lamar and Drake is also helpful.

Posted by: Moron Analyst at February 10, 2025 12:48 PM (JCZqz)

201 You can see her asking "what is going on" because of it...

A combination of reasons, too.
Taylor is from PA, and had always been an Eagles fan.
Now she's with Kelce and K.C.

Eagles fans, not known for their hospitality and politeness, were showing her what they thought of her.

And all the Trump fans got into it as well.

Bad night for her and her BF all around, eh?

I think Taylor Swift just became uncool. I mean, she was always terrible. But I think the common take on her is now "fame-whore has-been."

I've always thought she was cute, but never really liked her music much.

Her looks won't last much longer and she's hitting the peak of being famous and growing her fan base.

And then she went and got political and has become way overexposed.

It's all down hill from here for Taylor.
She'll be joining Madonna, and many others like them, in the "Where Are They Now?" camp soon.

She has some imaginative plays on words here and there. She has talent, and knows how to market. She can’t dance for anything, though. She is just pop music, so it’s not going to be overly complicated or deep.

Of course we can, but it can't be done by EO, no more than Biden could declare the ERA passed with an EO. I completely get that Trump's EO on this was to get people talking about the topic, but don't let yourself think that this would ever be a viable way to change things, and don't count on the SCOTUS doing the work for us.

There must be Legislation passed in both Houses, dealing with the grant of Citizenship under the 14th, as was done with Native Americans in the Indian Citizenship Act of 1924. There's no short cut, there's no magic wand. We don't have to amend the Constitution, but we do need to follow proper Constitutional procedure to establish a change in the law. And that means Congress has to be involved.

393 Judges are going to be the biggest problem for Trump, they've already shown they are fine throwing him in prison if they need to.

Trump Admin just needs to start ignoring them.

The concept of the Treasury Secretary not being allowed to audit the Fed is a prime example of how stupid this has gotten. Ignore and pardon if you have to, but let's see someone enforce these judges orders.

404 SCOTUS is either going to end up saying, "The chief executive is the chief executive," or "The executive branch is a subsidiary of the judicial branch." I know eeyorism points to the latter. But yeah, that's not going to happen.

The three Democratic appointees will say exactly that, as long as Trump is in office. They'll change their minds whenever the next Democratic gains the White House.

John Roberts will go all in on this, as long as he can get one other weak sister to join him. It would be his Magnum Opus. His defining contribution to "The Court" - as I'm sure he says it in conversation.

Either ACB or Kav will join him out of weakness. Or Gorsuch out of his "the rules are the rules" navel-gazing naive crap.

Nah, she's full on lefty and proud of it.
Not too long ago she was dating a Kennedy kid and hanging out with Lena Dunham. She got political years ago by endorsing Marsha Blackburn's opponent in the TN senate seat because of Blackburn's position on LGBTQ issues. She was right there crowing for Justice along with the rest of them during the BLM riots.

So it was no surprise to anybody that Swift endorsed Kamala this time around.

What did surprise a lot of people is that Taylor Swift's endorsement, which the left had been begging for publicly for months, was worth much less in getting young women to vote than Joe Rogan's endorsement of Trump helped get young men to the polls.

Taylor's endorsements are now at 0-2.

Serious Answer; because power has always worked this way. The first rule of power is it obeys only those with the audacity to seize it.

The Judicial Branch only had to show the will to grasp that power. As of yet, the Executive Branch has never shown such will. Hence, regardless of rules or interpretations of rules, the Judicial Branch is the superior branch of government. Simply because it chose to do so.

Judicial oversight of the legislative and executive branches is not going away, and in the most basic of senses, what is happening here is normal and routine within the system, what is different about this case is that there is no cite to what law or infraction of the constitution is at play.

The only thing that seems to be at play is the President wants to do something that is within the authority of the unitary executive ambit, ie, audit the programs the executive administers and other entities do not want him to audit these programs.

I think FIL at Wings has analyzed some of their stuff. He does pitch and note breakdowns of music and it was amusing (he is British) that I think it was the Eagles (or some other big group on a 'reunion' tour) that were using some pre recorded vocals that were pitch corrected. A few fans chastised him that no one should expect old rock stars to actually be able to sing well live anymore.

FIL turned around and did an analysis of a Roger Daltrey Who vocal on Baba OReilly and showed that even as a 79 year old vocalist, Daltrey could still hit those notes live and not need digitally re-processed and recorded crutches.

Good vocalists that take care of their voice can still sing well even in old age.

That has been the result of a lot of his recent work is demonstrating that EVERYONE is doing the same and it is strangling live performances and studio as well.

You can tell it after listening to it after a while. AI appears more subtle so far than the crude lip synching and pitch corrected bullshit by singers.

Autotune is pretty obvious but pitch correction is a bit harder to detect without good pitch. Basically humans sing a little above or a little below (sharp or flat) the actual tone. A few like Karen Carpenter or Julie Andrews could actually nail it live to the extent that it sounds like the recorded work. They were that correct in their pitch.

520 Taylor Swift truly is a very nice person. I have one CD of hers, given to me by one of my nieces, and I was shocked that I actually liked it. Think it's called Red. Might have been her first pop one?

Anyway, there used to be a thing called Fan Fest, or something like that, for country music, and I worked it several years. She was very, very nice to her fans. Stayed hours after she could have left, and the other artists certainly had.

She donates lavishly to food banks, homeless shelters, and animal shelters in every city she plays in. I'm long out of the industry, but my understanding is that she's still very kind to her fans.

My complaint is the seemingly permanent state of suspended adolescence. Her parents have stayed very protective of her and I think it's possible she is still very sheltered and hasn't had a chance to mature normally. Her writing is very self absorbed and
can get very Mean Girly with regards to her exes.

I believe the rumors that she prefers women. All her boyfriends strike me as closeted gays.

Posted by: whig at February 10, 2025 01:41 PM (ctrM5)

523 I'm not sure I understand exactly why Swift was booed, or why we're supposed to enjoy it so much. Yeah, endorsed Kamala - so what? With that being said, I have an idea or two:
1) KC got creamed because they had no business being there this time. They were playoff worthy, but not Super Bowl worthy - the refs put them there, and everybody knows it. The prevailing theory is that the NFL wants to try to pull in "Swifties". People didn't want to see KC in the game for that reason, and it was all about her, so they didn't want to see her either.
But in all fairness, it wasn't the team itself that was cheating, and probably not Swift herself pressuring or bribing the refs.
2) Her signing her endorsement "Childless Cat Lady" was a swipe at both Vance and people with families. The NFL is not the sport for "childless cat ladies", and probably over half the fans are MAGA.

Any other possible reasons?

I, too, have been mourning the complete loss of rock.

There’s still some good Rock every now and then but it’s mostly consumed by Folk music masquerading as Indie. Things are long gone from the magic of the 60s through to the early 2000s.

The powers that be seemed to have flicked a magic switch and turned rock off somewhere during Obama’s second term.

I guess they figured white people listen to Country and there aren’t enough radio waves, CDs or fiber optic photons for Rock to have a place in such a limited space.

532 That whole half-time show, which was obviously planned and written when woke was king (like all the girls-boss Nike commercials) was an exercise in the "E" part of DEI. No Diversity and no Inclusion. After the first couple of minutes, I started watching - I did not see a single white or Asian face among the support "dancers" . There were obviously some damned good professional dancers in the mob, but just as obviously, a shit-pot full of amateurs.
According to some survey on the news, the younger demographic thought it was good, and us over 29 bunch were not amused. Black culture has acted in a leavening way in the US, to a very beneficial way. As a kid, my first record purchase was a 45 of _Oh, Gee_ by the Crows, which my (actually, not by today's standards) racist older family derided as "nigger music".
-I thought about bowdlerizing that word, but I'm doing my part to remove the professional "anti-racist" power from our language and culture - Back to my point, the black culture on display in that crotch-grabbing, arm flopping routine is not leavening our youth, they're coarsening them. Devolution is a joke, until it isn't.

533 The bar we were in erupted in a negative way when they showed TSwift on the screen. Waitress had to calm everyone down.
