First-World Problems...

This might be the epitome of First World Problems! After snowblowing my and the neighbors' driveway and sidewalks, I'm really tired and want to lie down and take a nap.

17 We have never had a snowblower. Shovelling is done by male and sometimes female muscle. I think it would have been hard to even snowblow today. It was frozen sleet not snow and it was a sheet of ice on the car windows.

18 Here's a first world problem.

Plastic, flip-top ketchup bottles. The ketchup manages to get all over the outside of the cap. My table staff are constantly getting ketchup all over their livery, which has led to ridiculously high laundry bills, not to mention my own personal laundry expenses, as the ketchup frequently tends to atomize when the cap is snapped open, sending flecks onto my cuffs and shirtsleeves. I'm thinking of giving up escargot altogether.

I use Scan ‘n Go, which is nice, but it makes a beep every time you scan a barcode. Why?? It also makes you click through a bunch of warnings and instructions every time you use it. My God, I’ve used it three times a week for two years, you know this, stop trying to show me “how it works”!

Walmart is a huge company. They should have an app that works. It’s not that hard. I know people who work for Walmart’s tech side and I’m embarrassed for them.

The leaks continue.

The LA Times reports they’ve obtained a leaked government document which indicates there will be a “large scale” ICE enforcement operation in the LA area before the end of the month.

This comes after the Aurora op was leaked, w/ CBS & NBC writing articles citing numerous U.S. officials that it was coming, forcing ICE to reschedule it to last week, and the op was a failure.

And a large scale Chicago op was also leaked to the media during Trump’s first week in office, leading to a canceling and rescheduling of that op as well.

It is extremely dangerous for ICE officers to have their plans leaked & for their targets to know they are coming.

Somebody either does not want these operations to succeed or is overzealous in sharing operational details that should be kept under wraps. An early issue for this new Trump admin to face.

110 I have the same feeling, a need to lie down after snowblowing with my 1966 vintage Ariens that originally belonged to my wife's grandparents. I re-engined it about 30 years ago.

Today it decided to let me know how dumb I am. It stalled out on my once, near the top of the drive but then restarted so back down I went only to have it stall at the street and not restart. It felt like a blocked fuel line or water in the carb. It's about 250' push uphill to the garage. Pulled off the heat shield to get to the carb, pulled the fuel line, sho' nuff just a trickle of fuel. Must be blocked but first, look in the gas tank... oh crap, it's empty!!!!

Yes I did look before I started, saw some fuel in there and figured it was about half full. Instead it was just a little bit sloshing around. Live and learn, even if you're an old geezer.

175 When we lived in Connecticut I had a snow blower. I would haul that thing out of the shed in September and do all of my maintenance on it. I would change the oil and plug, replace the pins and make sure that thing was in peak condition. I would run it up and down the driveway for about an hour to warm it up and make sure the shifter and blower worked correctly. The neighbors thought I was crazy but I never had it fail in the 6 years I had it.

So when I'm running in the driveway along with both my cars idling while I'm smoking a big ass cigar on my porch somewhat mitigates the time spent.

The result was both driveways cleared, we got to the appointment, surgery was scheduled and completed, and Mr. L is on the long road to recovery. Eliminating taxes on tips, which Trump campaigned heavily on enacting, would result in a $100 billion to $550 billion reduction in federal tax revenue, according to the study; Exempting overtime pay from federal taxes would cost $250 billion up to $3.0 trillion;
Exempting Social Security benefits from federal taxes would cost between $550 billion and $1.5 trillion;
Lowering taxes for U.S. production of certain goods would cost between $100 billion and $200 billion;
Reducing tax benefits for stadium owners and ending the carried interest loophole would save about $100 billion, according to the group.
