Eating nuisance beavers was legal until the law was changed in 2024 as part of the environment omnibus bill. The change was questioned by Senator Steve Green (R-Fosston) who couldn't understand it. Senator Foung Hawj (DFL-Saint Paul) indicated there were concerns about the potential for disease or parasite contraction from eating a rodent and a lack of research on the safety of eating beavers. "I'm still not sure why it's in [the bill]," said Sen. Green. "I can tell you that even though I personally don't go out and trap beavers to eat them, I have eaten them. It is pretty good, but it is a rodent and I have a hard time getting past that. But I do know a lot of people that do consume beaver and I think it's a little problematic that we're making it a crime." Responding to questions on how to enforce the law, Senator Hawj said lawmakers would leave it up to residents and the "honor system." It's worth noting the ban strangely only appears to apply to nuisance beavers. Beavers trapped otherwise are still fair game.

The food worked like a charm and within minutes of placing the trap, the bear emerged from underneath the house and walked in and triggered the trap door.The bear was tagged and later released into the forest.

While navigating notoriously difficult sections on rocky terrain with a total vertical gain of 465,000 feet, Dower ran and hiked an average of 54 miles each day with consistent support from her mom, Debby Komlo, and friend Megan Wilmarth, in addition to volunteers who paced her through different sections. This is standard leftist boilerplate. What’s interesting is that we can most certainly change the document. They thought of that, they are called Amendments. But the real crux of the issue is the while technology does advance, human nature does not, and has not changed in 5,000 years.
They were arguing exactly the same things, the same problems in 1792 as we were in 1992, don’t be fooled. The founders knew their history, and did their homework. “Democracy” isn’t mentioned one time, not even once, in the Constitution nor Bill of Rights. Only in the post WWII era did it really start to enter into the lexicon, along with a lot of other anodyne bullshit, thought ending cliches, and vaguely good sounding pablum.

Oh, bulls**t. Unless I can claim a "total vertical gain of 150 feet" because I went up (and down) the stairs in my house 15 times today. My total vertical gain was ... 10 feet (at best - since I sleep upstairs, the total is 0).
(Hint, there aren't any mountains on the Appalachian Trail over 7,000 feet. Pikes Peak in Colorado is over 14,000 feet high, but it's still only about 5,500 feet above surrounding terrain. McKinley is only 18,000 feet from base to summit and is the tallest mountain in the world at that measure, rather than absolute height. Everest is only 29,000 feet above sea level.)

Killed a few years later in a training flight in a Mig. But he didn't eject.

1. Around 40 years ago there was a story in (I think) the Washington Post about a surprisingly sensible judge. Someone sued the Baltimore Market for selling raccoons and possums* that were not government inspected, unlike beef and pork and every other meat sold in stores. The judge asked if they had any evidence of anyone ever getting sick from eating either of the beasts bought at the market, the plaintiffs admitted that they had never heard any complaints, and the judge threw the case out.
*I'm not quite sure about the specific animals. There were definitely two species, but one or the other of them may have been muskrat.

2. Around 45 years ago, I was working for a small company in the San Francisco Bay area that measured air pollution. The vice president had a wife who was an Alaskan Indian and nine daughters ranging from 6 or 8 to 30-something. One day he invited all the employees at his branch office to dine on a beaver that his wife had cooked up and served on a platter, which her Alaskan in-laws had shot and shipped to her, and all the daughters were there, too. (It may have been Thanksgiving.)
One of the more naive employees (we'd probably call him Autistic now) said "You know, I've always heard of 'eating beaver pie' but I've never actually done it." At which point, all the other employees, and the boss, and his wife, and his older daughters almost fell out of their chairs laughing, while the younger daughters said "Daddy, daddy, what's so funny? Explain it to me!" (I wasn't there myself, since I worked the main office, but I trust my informant, who was. He didn't tell me how the boss explained it.)

Son and I have talked about this. He reads a traditional clock and has to decipher it digitally. I read a digital clock and have to envision a traditional clock in my head.
As for cursive writing, I suck at writing it (I print because it's marginally more legible). But I often have to read survey deeds written in the 1800s. That's a challenge. Looks almost like German cursive.
Also, my mom has beautiful cursive writing. I love getting Christmas and birthday cards from her.

What you probably built was the Monogram 1/48 C-47. There is a specific D-Day boxing, kit #5603. I see several on eBay right now. There are also aftermarket resin wheels for the kit.
The new tool C-47 in 1/48 is by Trumpeter but you are going to have to do some replacing as the rudder is metal covered instead of the WWII correct fabric covering. Yes, there is a correction kit for this. Also listed on eBay.

(This was well into the 'casual' workplace.) This one Saturday, I had to work on my birthday. I said, screw it, I'm wearing a suit to work on my birthday, cuffed shirt and all. Went to work, shocking a co-worker who also came in. She laughed when I told her I was wearing my birthday suit. After work, I went to a local restaurant, getting jibes from regulars for being in a suit, where my dinner was Steak Diane and a bottle of St. Emilion (recommended by the owner; delicious, BTW). That was a good birthday.

By the way, that brother-marriage is pretty evidently a citizenship scheme for him, for which she should be prosecuted. But she's a US citizen now, sigh. Have we ever stripped a naturalized citizen of their citizenship? I firmly believe a case could be made that she perjured herself when she took the citizenship oath, but it would take a bold AG to go that route.
In the past few years, a Korean guy who was naturalized stole a bunch of defense secrets and gave them to Korea because he wanted to help "his country." The judge who sentenced him grumbled something about that oath he took. Korean dude said he never felt it. It was another moment of utter fury for me that he wasn't stripped of his citizenship and booted to NORTH Korea.

My CA19-9 (a tumor marker seen in IHCC patients) results came back - when I was first diagnosed back in October, my number was 180.
Over the course of 4 months - and 2 cycles of conventional chemotherapy - that number climbed to 590 (should be below 37).
Yesterday - after 2 weeks on targeted gene therapy - my number had dropped to 91! 🥳🥳🥳

Even BC (before computers) there were ways to verify dates and such.
I wonder if had been used for storing something else prior, and became available when that program ended, and thus cheaper than buying a new building?

Underground storage offers protection from things that can happen above ground. Think 100 yr floods, tornados, hurricanes, wild fires, etc, etc. And man made disasters as well.
You've got a lot of flammable stuff you're keeping down there, so a good fire suppression system is needed, but if you want to preserve physical media as long as you can, this is a good way to do it.
The scandal here is the actual processing of all this requires doing it all down in the mine.
If you've got physical paper documents you need to store, or even print out hard copy as back up for digital, this is the way to do it.
