Weird contradiction.

127 I find the faces, especially, and human figures from this period are rather flat and the proportions are off. The angel's face and feet are examples. But Abraham and Sara are shown much more effectively, showing their age and concerns. The colors and detail in the building, clothing and landscape are better done. The angel is integral to the story, of course, but her figure is so stilted it is a distraction from the artistry of the rest of the painting.

Not something I would hang but I would like to know how those brilliant colors were achieved.

GOD: Arthuurrr, Arthuurrr, king of the Britons. Oh don't grovel. One thing I can't stand is people groveling.
ARTHUR: Sorry
GOD: And don't apologize. Every time I try to talk to someone it's "sorry" this and "forgive me" that and "I'm not worthy." What are you doing now?
ARTHUR: I'm averting my eyes oh Lord.

230 The Utica Shale, which lies below the Marcellus and may hold even more natural gas, extends further northwest into Canada and further east toward Albany — a vast swath of the Empire State.

Together, these two formations are estimated to hold at least 500 to 1,000 trillion cubic feet (Tcf) of natural gas, distributed throughout their extent.

While it’s difficult to determine exactly how much of the gas lies within New York’s borders, one study from the New York Energy Research and Development Authority estimated it at between 160 and 300 Tcf — enough to supply the state’s total natural gas needs for up to 300 years, at current consumption rates.

Dem women have received the rape threats as well. AOC was terrified the J6 mob would rape her. I thought that was an interesting comment, why did she fear that specific act. Now we know the answer to that question.

267 There's a fascinating dispute about which Ur was Abraham's birthplace. Many in modern times have believed it was the great Sumerian city of Ur, in what is now southern Iraq, near Basra. However, there is another Ur in eastern Turkey, still named Urfa today, which has since ancient times claimed that it was the true birthplace of Abraham. The text in Genesis, "Ur of the Chaldees" is rather ambiguous since groups the Chaldees were an early group found several places in the Levant.

What makes this claim believable to me is that later in Genesis, when both Isaac and then Jacob travel to find wives among Abraham's relatives, they travel north to what would be the general vicinity of Urfa, not all the over to southern Mesopotamia.

285 Abraham and Sarah’s Hospitality (Genesis 18:1-15)
Bible Commentary/Produced by TOW Project

In part, "The story of Abraham and Sarah’s generous hospitality to three visitors who came to them by the oaks of Mamre is told in Genesis 18. Seminomadic life in the country would often bring people from different families into contact with one another, and the character of Canaan as a natural land bridge between Asia and Africa made it a popular trade route. In the absence of a formal industry of hospitality, people living in cities and encampments had a social obligation to welcome strangers. From Old Testament descriptions and other ancient Near Eastern texts, Matthews derived seven codes of conduct defining what counts for good hospitality that maintains the honor of persons, their households, and communities by receiving and offering protection to strangers.[1] Around a settlement was a zone in which the individuals and the town were obliged to show hospitality."

(Codes not included.)

This episode provides the background for the New Testament command, “Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by doing that some have entertained angels without knowing it. (Heb 13-3)

I remember some story of a Democrat mayor or powerful city council member being attacked by an illegal and making excuses for the guy within the last year or so.

Probably not powerful enough.

However, it needs to be systemic and widespread, otherwise powerful Democrats just budget themselves some more security and be done with it.

400 >>> The Cannon Office Building was the one to which the flying squad of black Congresscritters was going when they lied they were spat upon by anti-ObamaCare citizens gathered at the Capitol in 2010.

A lot of these buildings have underground tunnels and even trams, so the congresscritters never have to see the unwashed rubes or deal with walking in ice or heat during their working day. So I could see her thinking that once you breach one building, you can get to the others. But the average person/protestor doesn't know about these tunnels or where they are.

That implies she thought people in the know were in on it, if she pushes this point. Which makes the "the cops held open the doors for the protestors" like she gave to Alex Stein more interesting. Because I think there are checkpoints along these tunnels with cops and security.

The legislation put forward this week proposes fines of $1,000 for a first offense, $5,000 for a second, and $10,000 for subsequent violations.

There are now. Didn't used to be. The office subways went from each House Building and when I was there to the Dirksen and Russell Senate office buildings. I'd imagine there is now a connection to the Hart building but they were just finishing that when I left DC.

Each time I went back to DC to visit family or do research, security kept getting tighter even in peripheral buildings.

They don't event have to marry white men, I'm sure there's plenty of men of Asian descent within a generation or two happy to marry them.

Possibly he wanted something comparable to the great cathedrals in Europe as he did attend church for a time in Alexandria but did not take communion there for whatever reason. Someone wrote Sacred Fire which dealt with Washington's religious beliefs which later secularists have distorted into something like Jefferson's. Not really similar at all.

Paine went off the deep end, first with his involvement in the French Revolution and then by writing his anti religious screed, the Age of Reason and criticizing Washington for failure to free him from French prison after Paine got into trouble after the Revolution.

I was fascinated to see the purity culture in Native American groups during my research. It was like certain Native American groups smugly deprived the Lumbee descendants of any sweet fed recognition (and Bennies) for being under a certain percentage of documentable tribal ancestry. I don't know why this is on Trump's radar, but I'm here for it.

I used to be big into prog rock, but once I got a taste of NWOBM I realized that most prog was pretentious crap. Rush and Crimson were the only prog groups that seemed to avoid that, I think it's mostly because Rush and Robert Fripp had really goofy senses of humor, even if they didn't let it come out in their songs.

The best examples of that is Fripp's recent youtube videos with his wife, and Alex Lifeson's Rock Hall of Fame acceptance speech.

I think his religious beliefs went to something like vague deism after his brush with the French Revolution. From the Rights of Man, he descended to the Age of Reason where he denied any Christian sect had any validity, Quote:

"I do not believe in the creed professed by the Jewish Church, by the Roman Church, by the Greek Church, by the Turkish Church, by the Protestant Church, nor by any church that I know of. My own mind is my own church.

All national institutions of churches, whether Jewish, Christian or Turkish, appear to me no other than human inventions, set up to terrify and enslave mankind, and monopolize power and profit."
