Morning, Art Appreciators,
My first thought was that this was in winter, and they're walking over frozen mud. But neither is wearing a coat or heavy clothing. So, maybe it's just an overcast day in warm-to-hot weather. I presume they're heading toward that dimly-glimpsed structure, their farmhouse, in the distance where the wagon ruts lead. Second thought: Mom is thinking, "I wish the kid were old enough to carry this basket some of the time."
If you really zoom in on the pic, the building in the distance looks more like a gigantic open coffin. If it's a building, it's badly crooked. They're walking along a ridge with the wagon ruts; the land, at least on the left, slopes down into a ditch. Mom's profile reminds me very much of Jan Smithers as Bailey. Biden pardoned Fauci. He says it’s not an admission of guilt. But if Fauci were innocent, no pardon would be needed. The evidence suggests Fauci helped create the Covid pandemic, and then covered it up. The investigation must go forward. All Covid & Fauci Files must be released. Fauci led an aggressive disinformation effort to discredit the lab leak hypothesis. If the Covid virus didn’t escape from the lab, why did he deliberately spread false or misleading information about it? Why did he repeatedly interfere in the investigation? Fauci played the media like a fiddle. They called the lab lead a “conspiracy theory.” Then, documents showed that Fauci’s main allies had sought to insert a furin cleavage site in the exact place where it exists on the Covid virus. Reason #7,969 for why the legacy media is dead. The internal documents show that Fauci’s allies knew they couldn’t prove there had been a natural spillover, and believed a lab leak was possible long after they claimed otherwise publicly. Imagine what the unreleased documents show. https://tinyurl.com/u45t33e4 unrolled thread Posted by: andycanuck (5LoD7) at January 20, 2025 09:57 AM (5LoD7) 166

Shit rolls down hill, as the saying goes.
But it can be slung right back to whence it came, too. They pardoned themselves going out the door, as everyone knew they would. That’s not news. Go after the underlings, the people directly adjacent or below. Those people have not received Get Out Of Jail Free cards. Make it clear in no uncertain terms that they are being sacrificed on the altar of Justice because it’s a big club, and you ain’t in it. This will have the sovereign effect going forward as well - when your boss orders you to do sketchy shit, he can get away with it. But you can’t. “Don’t try this at home, kids” The latter was exactly what director Comey publicly stated when they forced his hand on Mrs. Clintons unsecured state department computer servers. “No intent” is legal fiction. I like this a great deal.
Fritz von Uhde became one of the first painters to introduce plein-air painting in his country. The Artists Network: Plein air painting is about leaving the four walls of your studio behind and experiencing painting and drawing in the landscape. The practice goes back for centuries but was truly made into an art form by the French Impressionists. Their desire to paint light and its changing, ephemeral qualities, coupled with the creation of transportable paint tubes and the box easel—the precursor to the plein air easels of today—allowed artists the freedom to paint “en plein air,” which is the French expression for “in the open air.” Thanks. Five inches here. Just got done shoveling and sweeping down to a nice smooth, shiny layer of ice. That's progress, I guess. Posted by: t-bird at January 20, 2025 10:44 AM (wKqZM) 437
I don't like how we got stuck with red. They're the reds, and I think it was intentional.
Posted by: Biff Pocoroba It was intentional. Prior to Reagan, the GOP was blue and dems were red. News producers noticed that dems were portrayed as commie red, and coordinated the change. Posted by: Thomas Paine at January 20, 2025 10:45 AM (yuet2) 438
Trump needs to go full-bore on investigating Fauci, the Cheneys, Hunter, and so-on. Pass the info off to state prosecutors, like Florida. Federal pardons have no effect on state charges and civil suits.
Posted by: Disinterested FDA Director Dr. Mengele is highly vulnerable to state prosecutions because his actions resulted in people dying and, if nothing else, having a 10 or 20 states going after him would bankrupt him. As far as "'hoping and praying" not working out because Biden was a really bad President, here's an early morning reminder from
Grumpy and Recalcitrant: reminder on Inauguration day not to have misplaced faith: Psalms 118:9 reminds us: "It is better to trust in the Lord than to put confidence in princes." And Psalms 146:3 also cautions us: "Put not your trust in princes, nor in the son of man, in whom there is no help." We are all flawed. So are our leaders. There will still be big disappointments in store over the next four years. None of us is wiser than God, and this is backed up in Isaiah 55:9: "For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts." Posted by: Grumpy and Recalcitrant at January 20, 2025 05:43 AM (O7YUW)" Sometimes prayers are answered . Sometimes they're not and sometimes they're answered at a later time. It can be very hard.I think I'll keep praying anyway Posted by: FenelonSpoke at January 20, 2025 10:52 AM (ikSJ5) 452

oil slicks? somebody's screwin' with me, right? Posted by: Bilwis Devourer of Innocent Souls You want an oil slick? Just have oil spray out of a windshield washer reservoir onto the windshield of the tailing car. You don't want that mess on your windshield. Your wipers aren't clearing that off.
