Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | The Morning Report — 1/15/25So, that's roughly 130 million + 25 in just over 100 years. But who's counting. Funny how in their unquenchable lust for absolute power via the insane notion of changing human nature, for our own good (allegedly), the wretch-inducing expression "If it saves just one life" sprang into being, what ever any liberty-destroying edict, law or EO is proposed. The bitter irony is of course that if creating paradise on earth results in eradicating a few dozen or a few million lives, in their eyes it would've been worth it. Or as Leftist icon and hero Joseph Stalin once said, the death of one is a tragedy, but the death of a million is a statistic. No one ever asked if a million deaths one by one over time is a million tragedies or if a million are wiped out all at once is the statistic. Of course, anyone daring to ask him that would become an instant tragedy via sudden lead poisoning to the back of the neck on the steps to the basement of the Lubyanka or as part of the retaining wall somewhere along the path of the White Sea Canal. While firefighters continue to battle to get the fires under control against steady strong winds, and of course the aftermath, clean up and debate of how to rebuild, other stories are making news this morning. With just a week before Donald Trump is sworn in, Thank God, confirmation hearings for his cabinet appointees have begun, and yesterday's attempt to slime, smear and destroy his nominee for Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth turned into an abject shotshow for the Democrats, led mostly by the coven of hectoring, hysterical, halitosis emitting desiccated diseased unguent-deprived uteruses and their clattering dentures. Primarily fake Injun Elizabeth Warren and Maizie Hirohito, warped, evil, progeny of an Hawaiian child prostitute pimp mother. Compare and contrast them with the exemplary record as an American Patriot and human being of Pete Hegseth. That contrast alone is illustrative of just how far we have fallen as a nation and society. When scum of the earth harridans and criminal liar Democrats But I repeat, repeat, repeat myself manage to be elected and get to sit in judgement of such an exemplary American, it makes the blood boil. And yet, Hegseth and Markwayne Mullin ripped them all to shreds. It was glorious to see. First Hegseth: “The Defense Department under Donald Trump will achieve Peace Through Strength. And in pursuing these America First national security goals, we will remain patriotically a-political and stridently Constitutional,” Hegseth said. “Unlike the current administration, politics should play no part in military matters. We are not Republicans or Democrats — we are American warriors. Our standards will be high, and they will be equal (not equitable, that is a very different word).” Since coming to power nearly four years ago, the Biden-Harris Pentagon has made implementing neo-Marxist ideologies such as “diversity, equity, and inclusion” (DEI) a top priority. These policies have undermined military readiness and contributed to the service’s ongoing recruiting crisis. Hegseth stressed that the Defense Department must “make sure every warrior is fully qualified on their assigned weapon system, every pilot is fully qualified and current on the aircraft they are flying, and every general or flag officer is selected for leadership based purely on performance, readiness, and merit.” He further noted how, “Leaders — at all levels — will be held accountable,” and that “warfighting and lethality — and the readiness of the troops and their families — will be our only focus.”Now Mullin: . . . perhaps the most forceful part of Mullin’s rant came when he turned the tables, questioning the behavior of many senators. “How many senators have showed up drunk to vote at night?” he asked. “Have any of you guys asked them to step down and resign from their job? And don't tell me you haven't seen it, because I know you have.” Mullin was far from done. “And then how many senators do you know have got a divorce for cheating on their wives? Did you ask them to step down?" he asked. "No, but it's for show.” Mullin’s statement underscored the disconnect between the sanctimonious standards some senators set for others and the tolerance they exhibited for their own flaws. “You guys make sure you make a big show and point out the hypocrisy because a man’s made a mistake and you want to sit there and say that he’s not qualified? Give me a joke,” he said, exposing how political theater often overshadowed actual qualifications and character.Left unsaid was Mullin giving the Dems the bird and telling them to go fuck themselves in the heart with a rusty steak knife, but still. Shifting back to Hegseth's comments about preparedness and capability, juxtapose that with the causes of the incineration of Los Angeles and you can see how crucial it is for us to have an Army (Navy, Air Force, Marines and Coast Guard manned top to bottom with Pete Hegseths. And not divisions of junk-tuckers and Lesbians named Kristin. And just the opposite for the Democrats and our enemies abroad). And speaking on that, the other big story bubbling up is a potential ceasefire deal between Israel and the Hamas terrorists that evidently is being brokered by Trump and Biden that would have the Israelis release Hamas terrorists in exchange for Israeli hostages, alive and/or their corpses. With mere days to go before he takes control, I cannot for the life of me see any advantage to Trump forcing a hostages for terrorists deal on Israel. It has proven time and again to be tragically shortsighted and provocative, as well as at least to me counterintuitive to Trump and his advisers' mindsets with regard to Israel. What can he possibly be thinking, unless there is something going on behind the scenes that would give Israel a green light to do whatever it feels it must, like turning Gaza into Pacific Palisades on the Med. Instead of crafting its own foreign policy, the Trump administration is being stuck with Biden’s policy of pandering to Islamic terrorists. And that’s a disaster not only for Israel. but for America. After the initial euphoria of freeing a few hostages, the Trump administration will be stuck managing Gaza, it will be stuck funding the mess, pressuring Israel not to go after terrorists and when the thousands of freed Hamas terrorists kill Americans, the Trump administration will be blamed. The smart play was to let Israel win the war without getting involved. The dumb play was [Trump advisor and negotiator Steve] Witkoff doing whatever Blinken told him to do. One lousy week. One miserable fucking week, and Trump couldn't wait?! Yes, that after 14 nightmarish months in captivity these poor people should spend even one additional nanosecond in the clutches of these subhuman barbarian fiends is a crime against humanity. But to allow a single Hamas prisoner to go free, in exchange is an even greater crime that desecrates the grave and memory of every single victim of Islamic terrorism (apology for the redundancy) going back to Munich and frankly, considering what Islam is and its history, going back to Mohammed Pig-Piss-Be-Upon-him. to be fair to Trump, considering the ferocity and length of the combined Hamas/Hezbollah/Houthi/Iran assault on Israel, as well as the scummy duplicity and deviltry of the Israeli Left, Bibi's willingness to cave on this in that light is understandable, if certainly not excusable (IMHO despite my being Jewish though not a citizen of Israel, so they have to sort that out). I mean every terrorist for innocent Israeli hostage trade in the past has led to nothing but later rinse repeat, bigger and bloodier than ever. If 10/7 did not teach that lesson, what the hell will, Bibi? Trump? Psircling back to the Los Angeles fires and the chicken and egg of ideology and competency, as well as the notion of an out of control bureaucracy running our lives, I give you a fascinating essay from noted Libertarian John Stossel and his debate with Michael Malice on the nature of governmental control in the guise of protecting us, via the bureaucracy: . . . podcaster Michael Malice, in my new video, says not to worry, "We have so much further to go before we're lost as a country." Malice knows the damage real tyrants do. He's spent time in North Korea, and he was born in the Soviet Union. He detests political "leaders," saying the best political system is anarchism: self-government without a central authority, or, as the AI on my computer defines it: "a self-managed, stateless society based on voluntary cooperation and mutual aid." Malice and I debate that. I'm no anarchist. I'm a libertarian. I believe we should be allowed to act as we wish, so long as we don't hurt others. I accept the need for limited government, one that adjudicates disputes, enforces pollution control, and funds police and a military to keep us safe. Malice says it's wrong to think that way, because all central government is a problem. "Security is like anything else," he argues. "Should the government be producing books? ... No. Producing helicopters? ... No ... a government monopoly makes no sense. But somehow when it comes to security, you're OK with this. And then you live in New York and wonder why it ends up being the way it is."It pairs up nicely with another good essay from Bruce Thornton of Frontpage Mag: Thanks to over a century of progressive technocratic expansion through the metastasizing of federal agencies, their imperious regulatory regime has spread ever more widely, one that as Tocqueville prophesized “covers the surface of society with a network of small complicated rules, minute and uniform, through which the most original minds and most energetic characters can penetrate.” The purpose is “to keep them [citizens] in perpetual childhood.” And remember, the regulatory state is there not to protect you, but control you. Hence the mythological dangers of global warming and Carbon dioxide, etc. All as pretext to snatch and grab whole sectors of the economy and in essence deny you the freedom to choose how you want to live in service to the demonic desire of the Left and their apparatchiks to lord over you. Instead of protecting you from real dangers from criminals, foreign and domestic, terrorists ditto and ditto. If setting a sleeping woman on fire in a NYC subway, allowing whole business districts to be looted and destroyed as a legitimate reaction to mythical white supremacy, and an entire city to be burned to the ground because having lesbians and blacks running the city is more important than actual competency and ability, and that doing what needed to be done would fly in the face of global warming and racism dogma as the real dangers, when in point of fact they are the weapons/cassus belli with which bureaucracy controls the citizenry -- if all that is not a cold shot of reality, then nothing will be. Have a great day. And lastly, a quick shout-out and thank you for your continued support in hitting our tip jar. It truly is appreciated more than you can know.

I wonder if there has been a study on possible vectors for demon possession. How much of it is congenital and how much is environmental. That is, its pretty solid Law of Nature that the fastest way to demon possession is to live in Babylon DC, but is Babylon DC a demonic spiritual Mecca or an incubator? Does that leave open the possibility that degenerate parents and close contact with confirmed Reprobates either through occupation or prison open those doors? re: Trump/Imam story, I do get the feeling that Trump is open to moderation, I have no proof, but just a feeling based on his latest behaviors. I accept the need for limited government, one that adjudicates disputes, enforces pollution control, and funds police and a military to keep us safe.
- Our current government adjudicates disputes - sometimes - just not in an unbiased manner. - Our current government enforces pollution control - as they define it - and control our lives via that mechanism. - Our current government funds police (to enforce their edicts) and a military (to be involved in foreign adventurism). Malice says it's wrong to think that way, because all central government is a problem. He's not wrong but it's unrealistic to think we'll ever be rid of it. Progressivism, believing that credentialed “experts” are better at governing people than the people themselves, started increasing federal laws to fix “problems” or “crises” that states, counties, and cities––closer to their people’s circumstance, mores, and problems––were better placed to deal with.
Progressivism... started increasing federal laws to fix “problems” or “crises” that... some people didn't consider “problems” or “crises”. This, for example, is the core of the abortion debate. Leftists believe that it is insufficient for them to have unfettered abortion to the 333 trimester. If anyone, anywhere, has any limits whatsoever then their preferences must be shoved down everyone's throats via the central government. Sadly, a goodly number on the right feel the same way. He got stabbed in the back by many US administrations in the past, and did not want to rely on word, words, word, coming out of Blinken's and Sullivan's mouthes. >>An apartment complex in Aurora, Colorado, occupied by members of the Venezuelan gang Tren de Aragua is being closed by court order, city officials said Monday.

The democrats are seemingly incapable of not spilling their bile all over themselves and everything around them. Their behaviors yesterday were another public spectacle of disgrace. They still believe the media is a protective shield and they have total license to indulge their emotional incontinence and hatred.

The White House Blames Rent Increases On AI, But The Real Problem Is Bidenflation
Apply my rule of "Why Am I Reading This Article At This Time" There is always an agenda behind a non-evergreen news "story". I thought that the Smart Money was shepherding the naive investment community into the AI scam. Is this just blame-shifting via lashing out at anything mysterious, amorphous and vague like "Climate Change" and DEI? The pattern is usually: "we the Left are infallible gods" and when everything goes to shit, they claim a Madlib game of fill in the blank "Trump", "Christians", "Jews", "Conservatives" or "Gun Owners" when the underlying message is to kill or cancel the alleged perpetrators, or Climate Change and DEI when its time to grab more money and liberty. So how did AI get in the Kill/Cancel group? Posted by: Unknown Drip Under Pressure at January 15, 2025 08:10 AM (rHxhM) 76

. . . Regulatory hypertrophy began with the multiplication of laws. Progressivism, believing that credentialed “experts” are better at governing people than the people themselves, started increasing federal laws to fix “problems” or “crises” that states, counties, and cities––closer to their people’s circumstance, mores, and problems––were better placed to deal with. Yet firm believers in not letting “a good crises go to waste,” progressives began manufacturing crises, then passing laws and creating agencies tasked with managing those problems. . .

I have to ask, JJ, if that was your family being held would you want them to wait, one more week? Fvck politics. I wouldn't give a shit if it was a minute sooner, the sooner the better and I do also hope like hell DJT has a plan to loose Israel the next minute after the hostage release and pulverize the fvck out of hamas wherever they are. I'd even go as far as inserting tracker chips in the ones that Israel releases to track them down and kill every one of them.

That pending "deal" with Hamas makes my blood boil.
The thirty-something hostages will be released, likely a dozen of them as rotting corpses, over a period of a month or more, while Israel has to immediately release a thousand or more murdering jihadis, AND remove troops from the "sensitive" parts of Gaza so Hamas can reequip. BREAKING - US consumer inflation rises to 2.9% in December: government Insider Paper @TheInsiderPaper 2h NEW - Trump's policies won't push up inflation, economic advisor says [AFP] --- In an interview, Stephen Moore, a longtime economic advisor to Trump, said that the full suite of policies the president-elect wants to push through, including deregulation and the extension of expiring tax cuts, should help keep price increases in check. “You could point to some specific policies like tariffs that could be inflationary,” said Moore, who is a senior visiting fellow at the conservative Heritage Foundation. “But you have to remember that we’re also going to be reducing other taxes.” “Things that are made in the United States will have a lower tax, and things that are made in China will have a higher tax,” he added. “So when you balance those out, you have, you may have relative price shifts, but not overall price increases.” Posted by: andycanuck (5LoD7) at January 15, 2025 08:52 AM (5LoD7) 192

Nothing could have been done to stop the catastrophic L.A. fires that killed 24, incinerated 12k homes, and cost $250B, say the media. Nonsense, says an LA firefighter. The failure by Newsom & Bass to mobilize firefighters before the fires began led to an avoidable catastrophe. Failure To Mobilize Firefighters Before L.A. Fires Began Led To Catastrophe, Says New Whistleblower “We don’t have enough engines, and 100 were in the shop” says L.A. firefighter with 40 years of experience. "Lack of leadership" is the problem. California’s governor and Los Angeles’s Mayor did their best to combat the catastrophic fires raging through the city, they and the media say. Politico: Joni Ernst says she'll vote to confirm Pete Hegseth
Like there was ever any doubt?! She folded like a cheap lawn chair. Got her call from traitor. It's over then. Trump will get all of his security risks confirmed. I will not go quietly. I live among Magats and I am 77, just had a good ECHO test, so I hope to have many years to harass them. After watching *Susan Collins* stand up in the well of the Senate and passionately explain that she will vote for Kavanaugh, I no longer believe that anyone in the Orange Julius Caesar's party will do anything but back Orange Julius Caesar. Then it comes down to Joni Ernst versus Tammy Duckworth. Both are veterans. To go with Joni means to invalidate Tammy. Only one of them loves this country. She also voted for Kavanaugh, after failing to attend the Blasey-Ford hearing. When asked why...she said I trust Chuck Grassley." At the time, I almost felt embarrassed for her. What an ignorant thing to say. She is a fraud. The longer she has been in Washington, the more corrupt and full of hubris she has become. 223 I’m late today and only have time to say: It’s not possible that Trump would support that deal with Hamas, is it? Please no…. If that happens Trump starts his term making a huge mistake. I choose not to believe it unless or until it happens
Posted by: LinusVanPelt ======= Wait until it is announced if it ever is, time enough for that. Ask yourself this---when regarding the foreign policy of the US, is it to protect US citizens at risk of harm? Is it to destroy Hamas for Israel? Is it to consult with Israel and put out a joint position? And so on. Would it matter if the subject was a Chinese attack on Taiwan where we have tens of thousands of Americans on the ground? Foreign policy is tricky enough because there are a lot of moving parts (countries and leaders), a lot of it occurs in secret, and it is about as sordid as sausage making. Remember, the media (including conservative TM media) does a lot of bloviating in order to get people to click, watch, or engage. Influencers and blog personalities plus interest groups do it too. Saves worry until a formal policy is announced (or not) sometime after Trump's inauguration. Posted by: whig at January 15, 2025 09:17 AM (ctrM5) 242

Where, specifically, would this "hell" be paid? Seems to me to be relevant. And then he rolled over for Biden's judicial picks in the judiciary committee for 4 years. - - - - And was anyone surprised? Nope. The Left gains so much by sending their malicious behavior down the memory hole, w/a huge assist from the MSM and historians. At least this also results in them repeating their mistakes, as seen w/yesterday's hearings. They cannot modulate their own behavior nor control the angry mobs they've bought and armed. I assume because I question the timing your rant is aimed at me? I love Trump, praise God he miracled his orange self into the White House but the timing and the notion of a deal that frees terrorists I still question, as to the wisdom. Regardless of the poor hostages suffering. Posted by: J.J. Sefton at January 15, 2025 09:36 AM (x0n13) 305
For a year Hamas has wanted a ceasefire. Biden to his credit said nah. Israel said fuck that.
Now all of a sudden a ceasefire is good because Trump wants one? Posted by: Its Go Time Donald at January 15, 2025 09:37 AM (6YVq3) 306
I live among Magats and I am 77, just had a good ECHO test, so I hope to have many years to harass them. Sure thing, Gamps. Wear your "Harris - Walz" shirt all you want. It is not the US responsibility to be the world's policeman. It is Israel's job for their own security and they should make whatever deal they feel protects that. But, it is the duty of an American president to try to get American citizens out of harm's way. If Trump can do that in conjunction with Israel's leadership, then it would appear you have no leg to stand on.

Posted by: whig at January 15, 2025 09:28 AM (ctrM5) This is the John Stewart style clown nose on, clown nose off routine that "conservatives" have been running on their base for decades. They have no restraint whatsoever about military adventurism, but will inveigh against it when it suits their purposes. They'll patiently explain how federalism prevents them from enacting conservative policy preferences while letting the federal government grow unchecked and allowing the bureaucracy that impose leftist policy. They're as fiscally irresponsible as Democrats but never have money for conservative projects. On and on and on. I'm not going to treat seedy politicians like they're philosophers with actual convictions or beliefs. Posted by: bear with asymmetrical balls at January 15, 2025 09:39 AM (QPCEj) 309
Destroy Hamas by giving them a month to rearm and regroup. It’s a bold strategy Cotton we’ll see how it pays off.

>>I assume because I question the timing your rant is aimed at me?
No. Just the general tenor of the comments. We haven't had a more aggressive president in confronting Islamists since Jefferson and he just nominated a Sec of Defense who flat out said he wants Israel to kill all Hamas terrorists. We've had American citizens held hostage by Hamas for over a year and Biden has done nothing to get them home. Trump is getting them home before he's even in office. Is the deal perfect? Of course not. No deal is ever perfect. But the mission of wiping out Islamic terrorists has not changed. Posted by: JackStraw at January 15, 2025 09:43 AM (LkLld) 311

With President-elect Donald Trump set to take office in less than a week, members of the Jan. 6 Select Committee and White House are privately discussing whether to issue presidential pardons to lawmakers who served on the panel, according to lawmakers and sides. In an interview, Rep. Bennie Thompson (D-Miss.), who chaired the Jan. 6 committee, said he spoke to the White House counsel’s office (Biden's cutout) last month about the issue. Thompson noted that he hadn’t talked directly with President Joe Biden on the topic, but the veteran Mississippi Democrat said he’d accept a pardon if offered.

exchange for 250 Palestinian prisoners hostages on October 7, including some Americans.(14) To date, 117 hostages have reportedly been returned alive from Gaza, many in exchange for 250 Palestinian prisoners during a week-long pause in fighting. (15) Some 37 additional hostages have been “recovered dead or killed in encounters.” (16) About 97 (including some U.S. citizens)(17) reportedly remain in Gaza, though at least 33 of these are presumed dead.(1 Prime Minister Netanyahu reportedly estimated in September 2024 that half the remaining hostages are alive.(19)
Humanitarian situation: The humanitarian impact of conflict on Gaza’s some 2.1 million Palestinian residents... (Truncated, containing a few nebulous references. Pl. read if interested.) And so, the point is it was done before & maybe the IDF continues to stop the worst that would be freed in exchange for the 10/7/23 hostages. But it seems such an exchange would need to include every "Hamas hostage" - every single one, no more games. Can it be?
