The Morning Report — 1/8/25

LizBuffoon.jpg

Good morning kids. Of course the big story is a massive wildfire that has already swept through the very upscale Los Angeles neighborhood of Pacific Palisades and now threatens the west side of the city itself as strong, persistent winds whip through the area. As I have some family and friends that live there, I'm beyond concerned. And before the snarky comments regarding the politics of that state and city, one of my closest friends in life, who has been on the big and small screens for decades in some of the biggest shows and who you'd likely recognize in a heartbeat, is one of us. While sadly, the state of our nation and society has been reduced to a level where the politically disfavored are treated like dirt, as was the case in the virtual non-response by government agencies to desperate victims of hurricane Helene late last year.

And yet, there is another equally horrendous angle to this story that has its cancerous tentacles now in every aspect of our society.

Some people have noticed that Los Angeles is on fire. And it’s true, but more importantly it’s really breaking all sorts of ceilings. And not just with fire, but also with diversity.

Los Angeles Fire Department Chief Kristin Crowley is used to shattering glass ceilings. She isn’t just the first LGBTQ+ person to the lead the department, but also the first woman.

“Countless people come up and say because you’re out there being who you are and your proud of who you are, that gives them strength,” said Crowley.

“I am different, but there’s a lot of difference everywhere in the world. Within the fire service, within the LAFD. I turned it around and looked at it as a true advantage. These other areas i represent from sexual orientation to my gender, to my upbringings. We all our different, but that’s a strength of ours,” said Crowley. Crowley is a proud member of the LGBTQ+ community and says the LAFD has come a long way in terms of inclusion adding there’s a ways to go. Crowley believes the more diverse the LAFD, the better the department is at serving a city as diverse as Los Angeles.

I don’t know, I think maybe having a bunch of people who know how to fight fires would work better. As it has for all these many years. . . Right now, I think even the most die-hard woke in LA would take competence over diversity.

Well, that remains to be seen. Since long after the last embers have cooled off, and by the time the next state and local elections come around, I wouldn't make book on wild cheering from the typical Angeleno for any GOP candidate who promises to do away with DEI in the wake of this destruction. And that of course also assumes competent GOP candidates and a competent California GOP, which I haven't experienced in my lifetime perhaps since Gray Davis if not the govenorship of Ronald Reagan. On top of that, we have the Red-Green enviro-communists who succeeded in banning controlled burning which could have helped mitigate the almost annual wave of devastating massive wildfires that I clearly remember during my time in California in the late 80s and early 90s.

Like everything else the Left does, you have to always keep foremost in mind, the intention is not to bring others up but to bring all of us down. That is exactly what DEI is all about. Regardless of how qualified you may be, You didn't earn it, especially if you are white, Male, non-homo-pervert/Normal and Christian or Jewish. You got it on the backs and sweat of oppressed people.

Let's hop into the Wayback Machine for this moldy oldie:

In September 2011, a video went viral of Elizabeth Warren, in a pre-Senate campaign talking tour, excoriating factory owners for claiming they built their businesses.

“I hear all this, you know, ‘Well, this is class warfare, this is whatever,’” she said. “No. There is nobody in this country who got rich on his own. Nobody.

“You built a factory out there? Good for you. But I want to be clear: you moved your goods to market on the roads the rest of us paid for; you hired workers the rest of us paid to educate; you were safe in your factory because of police forces and fire forces that the rest of us paid for. You didn’t have to worry that marauding bands would come and seize everything at your factory, and hire someone to protect against this, because of the work the rest of us did.

We covered the story in 2012, and how Warren and Obama cribbed the concepts, and some of the language, from U.C. Berkeley Lingistics Professor George Lakoff, Obama and Warren cribbed “build it” narrative from progressive Berkeley Professor.

Considering the marauding bands of illegal alien and indigenous criminals going around robbing, raping, terrorizing and setting sleeping people on fire among other acts of abject savagery all intentionally unleashed on us by Fauxcahontas and her ilk, she has the unmitigated chutzpocritical gall to go after Pete Hegseth? Meh, She's whiter than a White Democrat Klansman's robes as she pretends to be an Indian. Feather, not dot.

Dig this from, the squawking squamous squaw of the people. Who made blood money by buying foreclosed homes for pennies on the dollar and flipping them for, gasp – profit!

The far-left Warren professed to be particularly worried about a tattoo on Hegseth’s bicep, which says “Deus Vult,” or “God wills it.” The angry squaw also “pointed to a Reuters article recounting how a National Guard master sergeant believed the former Fox News host could be an ‘insider threat.’ That master sergeant had done a quick internet search and determined that the tattoo had links to right-wing extremism and had been a battle cry for the Crusaders.”

Warren likely isn’t really afraid that Hegseth is going to get a new Crusader army together and go take back Constantinople or something, but the Massachusetts senator and fake Native American is so far out of touch with actual Christianity that she thinks or wants us to believe that she thinks that having a Jerusalem cross tattoo (which Hegseth has on his chest) and “Deus Vult” on his arm means Hegseth is not just a serious Christian but a “right-wing extremist.”

The self-righteous harridan reminded Hegseth: “You were also removed from President Biden’s inauguration because of concerns that you were an insider threat after reports that your ‘Deus Vult’ tattoo ‘was a Christian expression associated with right-wing extremism.'” That was actually true, at least partially: the Post noted that National Guard brass “pushed Hegseth out from serving during President Biden’s inauguration day. Notably, top brass had been on high alert at the time in the wake of the Jan. 6, 2021, Capitol riot.”

This is, however, hardly an indictment of Hegseth. The left at that time was busy concocting its “insurrection” narrative, and its hysteria was at a high pitch. Few people, if any, whom they could demonize as a “right-wing extremist” were left unscathed. Yet despite the thinness of the case against Hegseth, Warren declared: “We cannot have a Defense Secretary whose fellow servicemembers feel concerned enough about to report as a potential insider threat.”

. . . Her endless letter to Hegseth is part of her effort to preserve and protect the far-left, deeply politicized Defense Department that has been created over the last two Democrat juntas. Hegseth threatens that corrupt establishment and threatens to focus the Defense Department on protecting the country rather than on DEI, Critical Race Theory, and drag shows. That’s why Warren wants so desperately to stop him.

The greatest insider threat to this nation was, is and always will be the Left and its epicenter in the Democrat Party. The bloody record of 200 years of destruction is crystal clear on this. Remember, that the US military is one of the most recognizable bastions, pillars as well as symbols of the American Republic as founded, of Judeo Christianity and post-Enlightenment western civilization and thousands of years of painful human development that culminated in Lexington and Concord. Those who have served in uniform as such are the last firewall (before the Second Amendment kicks in) between the abject evil tyranny of Warren and her ilk should the only avenue left to them for obtaining and maintaining absolute power is anti-constitutional repression. Hence their goal of dismantling our military. Look at its magnificent victories since 1775 in the righteous quest to preserve our freedom, paid for in the blood and treasure and sacrifice of real patriots.

God bless Pete Hegseth. His presence is akin to showing the cross to Dracula. Yes, the symbolism is evident.

Thank God Trump won because it is not beyond the realm of possibility that a military with the likes of Lloyd Austin and Mark Vanilli Milley in charge would have not flinched had they been ordered to fire on US citizens had they dared to protest Harris or whoever about anything. The first casualty in Diversity is diversity of independent thought. Anyone who would've refused their orders no doubt would've faced a summary execution for insubordination. That is who the Left is. Same as it ever was.

Let us go from fire to rain! As it were for this interesting tidbit:

The city of Mecca in Saudi Arabia, the holiest city in the Muslim religion, experienced heavy flooding on Monday after torrential downpours.

Videos posted by Saudi citizens and media showed entire neighborhoods submerged, residents forming human chains to rescue children from flooded homes, trees swept away, and vehicles abandoned after stalling in deep water.

Oh those crafty Joo Weather Controllers! They invoked the late lamented Travis Bickel from "Taxi Driver." All things considered, maybe Mohammed's magic moon rock can be swept away, never to be seen again. Inshallah, as all the Kool Koran Kamikazes wearing their Fulminate of Mercury Fatwa Fatigues would say before mowing down infidels in New Orleans.

Have a great day. And lastly, a quick shout-out and thank you for your continued support in hitting our tip jar. It truly is appreciated more than you can know.

Oh but people say Trump made the mistake he should have said no because he knows how the media will twist his words! 60 $46,400,000,000 is new cost that are never accounted for when petty government tyrants add rules.

I would like to know how that number is calculated. if it is just looking at software, salary and desk cost for the regulators and compliance officers, that number is grossly understated.

How do you put a dollar figure on the cost of not building nuclear power plants due to excess regulation? What about the DEI regulation that has prohibited the building of so many projects from the EV charge stations to rural broadband?

How does one tally lost opportunity costs when projects are pushed off for years or indefinitely due to regulation and the surrounding litigation?

How much of that number is wasted on dedicated NGOs and activist groups sponging up donations and living off law suit settlements as a direct result of regulations?

What about the costs of seeking variances? People laid off and not producing but still receiving financial support due to regulations wiping out departments and projects?

It would seem with the wild fire issues, people would wake up and understand the need to mange with controlled burns would help reduce (but not eliminate) risk. 99 $46,400,000,000 is new cost that are never accounted for when petty government tyrants add rules.

While stepping away to refill coffee, that number appears to be at least two degrees of magnitude off. Maybe three degrees.

The Inflation Reduction Act itself, nothing but regulation was a trillion dollar debacle alone.

Regulations have turned a one-teacher-per-classroom into an army of government employees per smaller classroom.

Heck, the amount of food that is thrown away/destroyed by government regulation is probably worth a billion or so itself.

Then there are the timebombs of regulation not allowing infrastructure to be built, or worse, regulating a poisonous food supply starting with WIC and schools that will cost trillions extra in medical costs.

113 The "You Didn't Build It" crap is total crap. Constructing a public road to a new factory or warehouse will let the city or county increase its tax base and provides transportation for new workers (i.e., taxpayers) employed at the facility. As noted many times, Leftists talk about economics as a zero-sum game. If the city builds a road to a factory (using municipal bonds by the way, not cash up-front from the city treasury), it does not automatically mean children across the city go hungry forever.

It's odd how I never heard any "You didn't build it!" crap the past four years while Democrats screamed for huge amounts of Federal funds to build and repair roads and bridges across the country. 143 During the winter months there is only one or two possible routes for shipping that are in the Arctic and Greenland is key to them remaining open.

They are considered strategic... important to retain control of. Canada's northern tier is part of it, but other than Alaska the US has no landmass from which to base ships or planes.

Russia's landmass covers what Canada's doesn't and is about twice as large. Greenland's closer to Norway than it is to Alaska too.

And, yea... China has been eyeing the area for years.

In the area of California the state is permitting to burn to the ground, I'd bet a $200,000 budget might build a 500 sq ft house. Home construction is just the beginning too, as those people will then buy curtains, rugs, chairs and couches. A 3,500 sq ft house in Pacific Palisades might run close to $2 million from those costs combined, and excluding the costs of clearing the lot.

That assumes people can even get a contractor, which will itself be a big issue. This will be a good time to be in the construction trades in the Malibu area!

The idea of forest management has gone out of public discourse. It's "all natural" wilderness now, even in urban areas.

There's years of dead wood, dead trees, dead shrubbery, dried out grassland just waiting to go up in massive flames in any "nature preserve" once the grass goes dry and an arsonist(jihadist???) decides to let it all go up in flames. Easy, barely an inconvenience.

All urban area parks and p[reserves should be managed and cleared on a regular basis.

181 The idea of female firefighters is absurd. They're not carrying anyone out of anything. In the nice air-conditioned office where I work, they can't even change the water cooler bottles out, which are under 50 pounds.

Are there aberrations? Sure. But we've got to get past this belief that we need to organize society to account for every exception to broadly applicable general rules. Whenever we do this, the numbers never equal what the 5-year planners want, so we inevitably begin lowering the standards.

216 Trump's presser yesterday was amazing.

Not so much what he said (that was pretty cool) but the fact that he stood there and took random questions and gave unscripted answers.

From the same press that, for the last 4 years, worked hand-in-glove to fake up every single Biden appearance.

And all of them sitting there like what they did the last 4 years should be forgotten.

Which leads to the second most amazing thing yesterday:
The media howling over Meta ending their fact-checking funding--indirectly admitting that they were, in fact, censoring the shit out of conservative views.

219 God morning dear morons and happy birthday JJ

PA chief starts his 21st year

On Jan. 9, 2025, Mahmoud Abbas will start the twenty-first year of his first four-year term as leader of the Palestinian Authority.

As does U.S. law, P.A. law stipulates that the leader of the government be elected for a four-year term, which can be extended, subject to re-election, for one additional four-year term.

Abbas was elected to the position of chairman (ra’is) in the last P.A. elections, held in 2005

220 Trump's presser yesterday was amazing.

-

Someone, maybe here, linked a talking head saying that he'd forgotten how great Trump's press conferences were.

Other politicians will pussyfoot around the minutiae of some small topic that they rehearsed for three weeks.

Trump comes to the microphone and says we're buying Greenland, deporting all illegals, taking back the Panama Canal, and oh yeah, renaming that water down there the Gulf of America.

221 The whole "woman can do anything" movement isn't going away. It's been around for decades, maybe a century. A potential issue with it is that when a woman fails miserably at her job the penalties are nonexistent or different than what a man would face.

If that was to be addressed equitably most wouldn't have an issue as it would naturally sort itself out.

But that's not what we've got. What we've got is equality with different measurements of success or failure. By design.

300 Justices Thomas and Alito complied with the laws, regulations, advice, and Judicial Conference rulings regarding reporting trips with friends. They were not required to report these trips under the personal hospitality exemption outlined in the law, no matter what the leaders of this witch hunt, Democrat Sens. Dick Durbin and Sheldon Whitehouse, claim or wish.

Let's see what ethics malfeasance Dick Turbin and Sheldon Whorehouse have been up to, shall we? Dems always use projection.

301 Good morning, all, and thank you, J.J.

Last evening, watched as assisted living patients were gathered in a parking lot/staging area near a fire engulfed area in California. They were waiting to be moved by ambulance, two or three at a time; it was heartbreaking and horrifying. My sincere admiration goes out to all of those who so bravely provided care, comfort & coordination. To those in emergency vehicles racing up roads behind them to evacuate and assist others, and fight fire the windblown, out of control fires. May God be with them all.

On the other side of the nation, men are slowly vanishing from our local volunteer fire companies. Daughters & nieces of Fire Chiefs & company officers have become the majority of firefighters in a few companies. (Remember in 2023, Gisele Fetterman, a volunteer at 41, was filmed responding to an apartment fire in East Pittsburgh?)

A few companies have been reported for inappropriate (race, sex) behaviour. One station - possibly a paid, city co. - closed & reopened as a community center.

Police chiefs in certain town are being suddenly removed & replaced and, yes, in those instances by what have been called DEI hires.

302 Local politics dearly matters!

Liz Warren didn't build her path into education, or politics either. Always a user, she slept her way in, imo. And, it shows as she's consistently among our very worse in Congress with platforms she borrows or takes from others.

Further, if Liz didn't have her daughter's Demos Org connection AND also her "Indo-US Connection" - yes, dot NOT feather - through her, her son-in-law & grandchildren, have no doubt that Liz be picking sh*t with the chickens. (India Empire, Mar. 2020, 'Elizabeth Warren and Sushil Tyagi - The Indo-US Connection") She serves two purposes; a 'mouth,' a front for the young, radical Left, and caring granny redirecting $, federal funds.

Back to California. It's an enigma to me. Only visited once, briefly, & enjoyed it immensely. It seems it's quickly evolving into something in a much different form. In that & for example: PBS dot org: Billionaire backers of new California city reveal map and details of proposed development, Jan. 17, 2024

"...snapped up more than $800 millions dollars worth of rural land for what it has said will be a new utopian green city between San Francisco and Sacramento..."

303 Are they the same tech billionaires who so solidly supported Biden-Harris? 🤔

And other news, too: The Sun, 'Fresno’s Assemi family preps exit from farming, shops $2bil sale of farms, pistachio business.' One of Fresno’s wealthiest farming families could be getting out of the business, listing all of its farms and ag businesses for sale in a confidential listing acquired by The Sun. Feb. 24, 2024

In part, “Project Green is a rare opportunity to own a premier integrated and scaled platform with superior water rights in the best agriculture-growing region in the country,” the presentation reads." ...

"The deal under your feet: Purchasing Maricopa Orchards would also give the buyer water rights across seven water districts in the Central Valley."

So, for starters, how different from the billionaires in Hawaii? And so it seems a lot of state residents must be nudged into other locations, even other states to survive.

Again, like Hawaii. Nudged. (And also other locations around the country, too.)

Here's hope the new Trump administration is clear-headed and wise as it may be our last dance.

Peace when possible; prayers to those in need.

304 Re: LA Fire. We listened to some streaming LA news last night. Reported that some fire equipment could not be used because the air space was closed. The air space was closed because Biden was in Coachella declaring 2 more chunks of land as "national monuments." So there is a good possibility that a fire that could have been suppressed was not because of one more frivolous presidential act that could have been accomplished sometime within the last 4 years. Missing Carter's funeral was just a bonus.
