The La Cloche Mountains, also called the La Cloche Range, are a range of mountains in Northern Ontario, Canada, along the northern shore of Lake Huron near Manitoulin Island. The mountains are located in the Canadian Shield, and are composed primarily of white quartzite.

ABC affiliate reporting per LAFD that the Getty Museum is on fire. Waiting for confirmation on that.
It's the Getty Villa which is threatened. It's on PCH. Last I heard, it was threatened but not on fire. This is the smaller, original Getty museum, not the huge museum in the Sepulveda Pass off the 405.

Built in 1954 by oil tycoon J. Paul Getty and opened as a museum in 1974, the 64-acre Getty Villa houses more than 44,000 objects, including priceless antiquities — Roman, Greek and Etruscan relics dating from 6,500 BC to AD 400. The most prized piece in the collection is “Statue of a Victorious Youth,” circa 300-100 BC, also known as “The Getty Bronze.” Other important works include the Roman “Lansdowne Herakles,” which dates to about AD 175, and the Cycladic “Male Harp Player,” 2700-2300 BC.
The Getty Villa was designed and constructed as a full-scale replica of the Villa dei Papiri at Herculaneum, in what is now southern Italy. From 1974 to 1997, the Villa housed the Getty Museum’s entire art collection. European paintings, drawings, sculptures, manuscripts, decorative arts and some photography were moved in 1997, when the Getty Center opened in Brentwood. The Villa was later closed for renovations and reopened in 2006 after a $275-million project transformed the site into an educational center and museum dedicated to ancient art.
The Villa will remain closed at least through Monday.

The Getty is no stranger to the perils of fire. In 2017, and again in 2019, the museum’s Brentwood campus closed because of a fire near the 405 Freeway. “The safest place for the art is right here at the Getty,” the Getty’s vice president of communications, Ron Hartwig, said at the time, listing fire safety precautions that included a million-gallon water tank on site.
The biggest concern, Hartwig said, was the possibility of smoke damaging the art — a threat ameliorated by sealing off the galleries, as the Villa reportedly has done.

Fun trivia - the Flapper look came out in the early 20’s, just after King Tut’s tomb was opened , and the media was going wild publicizing-all the treasures that had been found. Suddenly ancient Egypt was all the rage, and the flapper look was an attempt to emulate the look seen in the tomb paintings, fueled by media attention and the post WW1 desire to do something new.

I think he's closer to how Marc Andreessen described himself on Rogan, where politics wasn't really a thing for him and when he moved to Silicon Valley and became rich and famous, he just went with the default opinions there. Until those opinions started biting him personally in the ass. (In Andreessen's case, he became one of the biggest venture capitalists in the Valley and the Obama and Biden administrations were going hard after any startup they funded that had the potential of diluting government power, including AI, crypto, and even online banking).

I'm curious about his 'sudden' flip on censorship. On the one hand I think it was mostly an overzealous group of malcontents who put together the AI that FB uses to flag stuff they don't like. On the other hand I'd like to know what Zuckerberg thought about all that at the time it was implemented.
Then, he can explain the flip. Because I don't think he had a sudden epiphany on censorship.
I think he genuinely believes he was/is at risk for 1A rights infringements and could, maybe, be held responsible.

I have a tattoo. Just one. It's a tiny vine structure with a flower at one end and a heart at the other end. Hubbymayhem and I both got inked the day after our wedding as a gift to one another. He got one related to his military service and I got my tiny vine. No one sees my ink except Hubbymayhem unless I wear a swimsuit and I do not wear swimsuits. Ever.
We got the tats because we wanted them. No weird phase, no following the trend, no making a silly "statement". Just artwork we carry around with us.
Hubbymayhem got another tat after my mom passed. Older brother, Thing One, had a buddy who was a tattoo artist that literally set up a station in my parents dining room after mom's funeral and gave a memorial tat to anyone who wanted one. I did not partake. I was sick at the time and didn't want to deal with it.

We were a better country when cigarettes could advertise, and lawyers couldn’t. I found it curious that no restaurant or bar was prevented from declaring a “no smoking” policy. Instead a blanket prohibition on tobacco was forced on everyone. As always, “don’t like it, don’t go there” wasn’t part of the conversation.
Also the tobacco “settlement” monies were used to do a lot of fucked up shit. Shakedown city, and it has only gotten worse

I really think that in their mind, they don't understand Trump and so Trump becomes an X that stand for literally any possible action that could be done that they don't like.
And they try hard at not understanding Trump.
Obama said Trump would never see 3% economic growth. He did not say that when Trump sees 3% growth, that will be Obama's policies. It was part of Obama's "Those days are gone" and "magic wand" comments.
Trump was the one who said he thought we could get this economy to 3--maybe 4--percent, and we crossed both those thresholds.
Yet, rather than to wait it out and see who was proven right, when the DNC decided they'd better get the story out that Trump's success was really Obama's success (although Obama didn't predict that type of success--and Paul Krugman, also on the left, predicted the economy would tank and never recover), their voters simply lapped it up.

He funded Biden's 2020 win for what I assume were business reasons. He happily let Biden's government into his company to implement censorship.
Now that Trump won, and one of his tech billionaire rivals is Trump's closest allies, he is hiring Trump allies and pledging to end censorship.
This is all business, he is recognizing what is needed to get along and prosper w/the current regime.

Here's the thing that I read way back about that. The jab gives your immune system "pop-up" targets of the isolated spike protein.
Covid in the wild does NOT have an isolated spike protein. So early on, one of the criticisms of the Jab was that it could mistrain your immune system, but it's close enough that it might just confuse your immune system into thinking it's taking care of the problem.
If all this was engineered, it's diabolical.
They just didn't get a deadly enough plague (again, if engineered).

Sorry Sal but I disagree on the pompadour for men and the beehive for women. I like both of those styles. My son got out of the army and let his hair grow out a lot. Then he got tired of it and wound up, accidentally, getting a curly pomp. Tight on the sides but longer and very curly on top looked great on him.
I would love to be able to rock a beehive hairdo. I would even spring for cat eye glasses to go with it!

J&J almost killed by step-brother-in-law.
He took the day off work, got it in the morning, went home to do some yard work, and collapsed.
He was rather healthy and fit, a work-out guy as long as I've known him--although an alcoholic--and he believes that had his neighbor not spotted him laying in his back yard, he would not be here.
