Half-Assed ONT

So I'm sitting there after dinner, reading a book, and my wife and kid are talking. She's asking him why he isn't at work. “Mom, I never work on Thursday”.

Wait....Thursday?

Crap! Because of yesterday being a day off, today “felt” like a Monday to me. If it's Thursday, I have to do the ONT!

And it's due in one hour. So, you're gonna get what you get. Sorry

A Comprehensive List of 88 Movies from the 80s—How Many Have You Watched?

The entire article is just a collection of one sheets (posters) from 80s movies. It's a fun walk down memory lane. How many have you seen? For me the number is 78.

This Thing Is Gonna Get Out Of Control

Left Plays Footsie With Political Violence

Regardless, in our democratic republic, however, citizens are supposed to solve those problems at the ballot box, not with bullets or "black vigilantes."

But in recent years, the left has been flirting with those who would use political violence to accomplish the left's objectives.
President-elect Donald Trump faced two serious assassination attempts this past year. Pro-Hamas groups took over college campuses and buildings last spring. Around the country, Jewish students reported being assaulted on college campuses. Police are investigating two George Mason University students involved with Students for Justice in Palestine. Last month, police searched their home. They found flags for Hamas and Hezbollah and signs that said "death to America" and "death to Jews." Police also found weapons and ammunition.

Most elected Democrats won't directly condone violence. But few on the left are willing to isolate those, like BLM and pro-Hamas protesters, that view it as an acceptable way to accomplish their goals.
Instead of playing footsie with those engaged in political violence, Democrats need to cut them off at the knees.

“Cut them off at the knees”? How violent.

The Real Villain In Die Hard

Taking Another Look At ‘Die Hard’

What we do is someone who sets up a new life 3000 miles away from her husband, then drops his name “for professional purposes” without telling him. Who would humiliate someone they love to the point that they did not even know how to refer to their spouse or search for them in the corporate directory. No heads up whatsoever shows Holly was already checking out of their marriage.
Long after hope had been lost that Holly would come back to him, John still wears his wedding ring. Sad.
The Die Hard movies, at least the first three, are a testament to the dedication of one police officer to his wife and family, a commitment John McClane maintains long after his wife finally forsakes him after years from abuse and neglect. The other sequels are about a father’s love for his children, which leads audiences to conclude that he is still, deep down, in love with their mother, too, who has taken him for granted and abused him for years.
Even though he always survives and manages to protect his loved ones, John McClane is a tragic character who forever pines for the one thing he simply cannot get: the love of his wife.
Holly McClane, who likely legally switched back to Gennaro after the divorce (since she’d done it professionally beforehand), is an abusive woman who ultimately has no regard for the man who kept herself and her children alive against all odds.

What a bitch.

We'll Even Give Them Back The Dollar

We Dug It, We Own It

Jimmy Carter had run for office promising to oppose a surrender of the canal. As with most of his policies, he turned out to have been lying. Even though the majority of Americans opposed the giveaway, Carter, Democrat Senate Majority Leader and KKK leader Robert Byrd, teamed up with GOP Senate Minority Leader Howard Baker, the worst RINO in Senate history, to conduct the surrender. This move would cost Baker his chances at a presidential nomination.

While Reagan’s election triumph tends to be credited to the economy, there is no doubt that his declaration, “we dug it, we own it” about the Panama Canal powered him to a primary win over Baker who was the favorite son of the D.C. establishment and Rockefeller Republicans.

Carter, the Klansman and the RINO managed to get the two Senate Republican votes they needed, including former Sen. Bob Packwood, and ensured the rise of Reagan and a conservative revolution. America lost the canal but it also bid goodbye to Jimmy Carter.

I think he makes some good points. Even if he didn't, regaining control of the canal is in America's strategic interest.

And that's all I've got, because I didn't spend the day looking for content while I was working like I usually do.

Las Vegas sheriff: Special Forces Master Sgt. Matthew Livelsberger shot himself before his rented Cybertruck blew up at the Trump hotel

DC_Draino @DC_Draino 6h
Now that we know the Vegas suspect was found with a bullet in his head, I see 2 possible scenarios:

1. He shot himself - he was planning to commit suicide & didn’t want to risk being burned alive

2. He was shot by someone else & the Tesla was auto-pilot navigated to the Trump hotel

DC_Draino @DC_Draino 6h
A long fuse could’ve been lit, a timer could have been set, or the bomb could have been remotely detonated

I wonder if anyone in the vicinity heard a gunshot

That would help confirm where the car was when he was shot

JUST IN: Family of accused Trump hotel truck bomber Matthew Livelsberger says he was a “big Trump supporter,” questions the incident.

Odd.

The uncle of Livelsberger told the Independent that he is confused by the explosion because his nephew could rig a bomb to blow up half the hotel if he really wanted to do damage.

“He used to have all patriotic stuff on Facebook, he was 100 percent loving the country.”

“He loved Trump, and he was always a very, very patriotic soldier, a patriotic American. It’s one of the reasons he was in Special Forces for so many years. It wasn’t just one tour of duty.”

“Matt was a very skilled warrior, and he would be able to make if it was him, and if he did this… he would’ve been able to make a more sophisticated explosive than using propane tanks and camping fuel.”

“Some of it doesn’t make sense, when he had the skills and ability to make something more, let’s say, ‘efficient.’ His skills were enormous from what he had been taught in the military.”

“[He] could have fashioned a bomb that would have obliterated half of that hotel if he seriously wanted to hurt others.”

NEW: The wife of accused Trump hotel truck bomber Matthew Livelsberger broke up with him last week, according to ‘law enforcement sources.’

Livelsberger was married at least twice according to new information.

A friend of Livelsberger’s ex-wife from his other marriage is also speaking out, says he was a “conservative” while his ex-wife was a Bernie supporter.

According to the New York Post, Livelsberger’s wife broke up with him around Christmas after she accused him of cheating.

They had a baby daughter together.

The couple allegedly had an argument before Livelsberger left Colorado Springs for Las Vegas where he reportedly rented a Cybertruck from Turo.

A friend of Livelsberger’s ex-wife from his marriage that ended in 2017 said he was a “conservative thinker.”

“Wilssens said that she and Sara (ex wife) were staunch Bernie Sanders supporters during the 2016 election, and Matthew Livelsberger, whom she described as a conservative thinker, supported Donald Trump,” the Gazette reported.

83 I didn't bother counting the movies. I've seen most of them. What I noticed are some of the ones I did not like.

-Stripes. Even before I enlisted I knew this one sucked all the way.
-The Goonies. Don't get me started on how many ways this one sucked.
-Pretty in Pink. puke.
-ET. Dear Lord this was a tedious slog.

91 Movies from the 80's? Let's see...80's... living on a US Navy ship for the first half... living on Oahu for the second... ended being deployed on a Destroyer.

Not a whole lot of movies watched that decade.

Remote Nike Hercules site, 18 Americans, 10 nukes. We got 16mm movies that were in the theaters shipped to us because we were 'remote'. Duty was day on /stay on for all three years. I think an actual weekend off that synced up with Smash's unit in Frankfurt happened twice during that time frame.

Duty sucked. Amenities were okay, mess hall got a lot of luxury chow because of the location and the duty. Smash lived with me in German AF NCO housing and commuted to Frankfurt. I would hitchhike to the site (what a fooking dumbass). This was '84 - '87 when Bader Meinhoff was kidnapping GIs and murdering them for ID cards to infiltrat U.S. Kaserns and plant bombs. German CSM ate me a new asshole for that one week, it was deserved. Ran into him during a NATO war game in 2009 and the shithead asked me if i was still hitchhiking in front of my VP boss. Where upon we had a beer lunch and he got to regale my VP with what a dumbass I was in the 80s.

119 One thing that is perplexing, there is no grass roots leadership nor organization for the vast majority of Americans. I mean, that’s how you got Trump in the first place.

It is obvious to me they have been suppressing the natural order of things for a very long time. They have played whack-a-mole on the “right” and have been elevating and platforming the left. It is wholly unbelievable by any metric that decades of atrocities foisted on America wouldn’t result in epic blowback and repudiation.

120 Re-reading Gordon Prange's book about Dec 7 1941. Just the stories of those who witnessed the attack.

As both the Navy and Army struggled to find the Japanese fleet, two privates from Opana Point radar had the track. But no one ever realized how valuable the information was so B-17s went winging to the southwest searching and finding nothing.

As Halsey motored across Pearl Harbor on 8 Dec to meet with Kimmel, it seemed every jittery ship and sentry opened fire on him. Luckily, they missed.

Dec 8th also saw the recovery effort of bodies continue. Small boats were being used to tow the bodies ashore. How horrible this task was illustrated by the fact sometimes the bodies would start to fall apart, the boat would then stop, and the crew would have to resecure what was left of the body.

There is still a lot we do not know about Matthew Livelsberger, the alleged Vegas bomber, but here is what we do know and there is a lot that does not add up:

He recently made the E8 list for MSG in 2023 in an 18Z slot, which means he was a Special Forces soldier and if he pinned, would have still been on Active Duty. This also means he was well within his Team Sergeant time.

He was an 18E, Special Forces Communications Sergeant and then went to the Fox course to become an 18F, Intelligence Sergeant before making the E8 list.

He also apparently was Small Unmanned Aircraft Systems (SUAS) qualified, which implies he had training as a drone pilot. I'm submitting a FOIA request for his military records, but expect that to take some time.

He rented the Cybertruck from Turo, the same company that the NOLA terrorist used. The back of the truck was full of mortar fireworks, gasoline canisters, and campfire fuel canisters, which are all combustible but would not be ideal for an explosion to create maximum damage.

Here is the crazy part, with the level of experience that he had, how does it make sense that he would rent a Cybertruck, which are known to be bulletproof, and fill it with ineffective explosives that he would know would not actually damage much, if anything?

The front windows of the building did not even break.

162 As others have noted, you don't even have to be a 19-year veteran SF team sergeant to know how to build a competent VBIED, especially if you have spent time in the sandbox, and it would not be done in the manner that the TEsla truck bed was rigged.

While we're seeing a lot out on the interwebz, I have a couple of questions about his resume:

He's mostly been communications and intel/ops MOS's and he's currently working on what looks like counterdrone programs with a civilian contractor (not sure how that works). There's a currently operational live fire drone/counterdrone laboratory just east of Stuttgart about 300-400 miles.

10th Group (Colorado Springs/Germany) focuses on Europe. Every SF NCO has language skills. Someone with as much time as he has probably has skills in 2-3 languages. What are the odds that one of them is Russian/Ukrainian?

Just food for thought. Do we know who he was actually working for?

As if I didn't already have enough trouble with ICE because of the sixteen hefty German milkmaids, now today I've got nine frantically dancing Russian ballerinas. I don't know what they're on, but they just keep dancing and jumping and twirling all over the house. They're cute, but this is madness.

I did contact an Amish farmer who will take the dairy cattle herd. Also, he said he's a widower with a large house so he would gladly take in the milkmaids as well. So, some relief.

The lawyer says the restraining order will go into effect in a couple of days. Can't wait.

In an interview, Christal said when he meets people, almost all go into the 'mostly dead' schtick. He was in a deli this one time having a sandwich. Guy walked up and, imitating the voice, leaned over to him and said he hoped "the mutton is nice and lean." He laughed and gave the guy an autograph.

Yep. Was one of the lower enlisted that got to go to Ford Aerospace in the LA urban sprawl to validate the hull/turret integration with the 40mm. Sweet system. It could handle a treetop level high speed fly by with a 3,000 psi surge on the slew hydraulics. Knock your ass out if you weren't strapped in.

The gun test where it shot the shitter was because the radar was a doppler imager, when the shitter exhaust fan turned on, it provided a louder (in returned rf dB) signal than the rc helicopter.

Fun times. That thing was bigger than Steven Segall's ego.

🚨 BREAKING: Matthew Livelsberger Shot Himself Before Blowing Up the Cybertruck Outside Trump Tower 🚨
Authorities have revealed that Matthew Livelsberger, 37, shot himself in the head moments before his Tesla Cybertruck exploded outside Trump Tower in Las Vegas.

“We do know who rented the truck, we are looking at that individual, but I am not prepared to release the name of any of the individuals that we are looking at,” Clark County Sheriff Kevin McMahill said on Wednesday.

Senior law enforcement sources confirmed to KOAA news outlet that Livelsberger was the driver of the Cybertruck used in the attack.

Sheriff Kevin McMahill confirmed on Thursday that Livelsberger’s body was so badly burned in the explosion that identification was only possible through his tattoos, Daily Mail reported.

One of my son's spotted a woman smoking in the restaurant and went wide-eyed and whispered to me 'Dad, look, that lady is SMOKING!'

Can't some Tesla models operate as driverless cars? Particularly for short runs, say from valet parking to the entrance to a hotel?

Perp rents the Cybertruck, books room at Trump Hotel. Valet parks the truck. Perp or accomplice gains entry to parking lot, say with service truck, dumps explosives and recently-shot GI into Tesla, drives away. Perp summons Tesla to door of hotel, and wanders away, while pushing remote button in pocket to start shit burning.

In my experience, this doesn't work often. The airline calls the flight delayed until there isn't any option but to cancel it.

So, even if the next connection isn't for 12 hours, they just keep calling it a delay so they don't have to refund the ticket.

If you complain loudly and bitterly and at great length, they might, maybe give you a $100 voucher. But that's it.

Near as I can tell, there was nothing to detonate. The most "splodey" stuff he had was mortar-shell type fireworks, probably purchased from a fireworks shack on an Indian reserve. Where the good shit is sold. They go bang!, but are scarcely real destructive bombs. The rest of the stuff was fuel and gas canisters that would deflagrate in a hot fire.

442 Grok:

Based on available information, the Tesla Cybertruck's software, specifically the Full Self-Driving (FSD) system, has features designed to monitor driver attentiveness which could potentially make it difficult to trick the system with a life-like mannequin.

Posts found on X suggest that the Cybertruck's system checks for driver interaction at random intervals, looking for signs like eye movements and attentiveness. For instance, some users claim that the system monitors eye movements, hand motions, and body positioning to ensure the driver is engaged. This would imply that a mannequin, lacking the ability to mimic these human-specific behaviors, would not be able to fool the system into thinking it's a live, awake human driver.

However, there are also claims suggesting that under specific conditions, like if the mannequin's eyes were propped open, it might be possible to temporarily deceive the system, but this seems to be more speculative and less corroborated by user experience.

443 (cont)

It's important to note that these insights come from posts on X, which may not always be accurate or verified. Therefore, while the current software might have vulnerabilities, it's designed with multiple layers of checks to prevent such a scenario, suggesting that tricking it with just a mannequin would be challenging.

I still wonder if the CSM's real name, as revealed in the eleventh season, was Carl Gerhard Busch, or if that was yet another tidbit Chris Carter tossed out there to let fans debate yet another bit of the show's overarching mythos. 469 Tannerite is far more difficult to properly detonate than many are aware.

It relies on a phenomenon known as Molecular Crowding. Detonated by a projectile at a velocity exceeding 2,100~2,200 fps. Most handgun rounds fall below those speeds. No Boom.

It's not just the physical mass of the "Crowding". It's the suddenness of it's happening. No time delay to attenuate shock wave or heat. Result: BOOM. Slower pistol round, even .500 S&W? No boom. Usually. Stand well back, all the same.

Further. Day old Tannerite Mix is 3x harder to detonate, and only 1/2 the strength of "fresh". And maybe a tank round could set off week old Tannerite, but good luck?

Tannerite is a very crafty chemistry, and the above are the only reasons it defies the masses, remaining LEGAL in the USA.

FWIW, our youngest daughter (who has Down syndrome) was diagnosed with CD in 2008, when she was 7 years old. We have had very little trouble keeping her on a GF diet since that time. Today, there are a LOT of resources and certainly a lot more options out there for someone with CD.

I know that CD is more common in diabetics; I can't speak to how/if it affects them differently from non-diabetics. I am sure, though, that she will feel much better once gluten is out of her system! If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me 😊❤

Flash Gordon. Ghoulies. Exterminators of The Year 3000. Escape From New York. Carpenter's The Thing. Galaxy of Terror. The cinematically superior Dune. Evil Dead. Evil Dead 2. Halloween 3: The Silverhenge Shamrockening. Creepshow. Reanimator. The Return of The Living Dead. Slumber Party Massacre 1 and 2. The Road Warrior. Repo Man. 1984. Hellraiser. Videodrome. Easy Money. The intent was to blow open the casino and ignite the battery.
If everything that's been said here about burning lithium batteries is true then it would have created one heck of a lot of trouble ie. burning lobby, burning loud and bright for who knows how long, toxic fumes and much more publicity for the cause.

Was the man behind the wheel alive or dead when the car pulled up? There are tech savvy terrorists and putting a career SF man there certainly muddies up things. Prayers for this man, his family and this nation. May God guide us.

510 JQ,

I make a pizza lasagna, just not deep dish. I layer each ingredient, with the peppers on top because I like them charred. I still do what I learned at a pizza/sub shop: I put the pepperoni under the cheese. Less shrinkage. Yeah, not all slices are crispy, but I'm good with that. Mushroom and black olives on the bottom and building it up from there. When it comes out of the oven, I give it another coating of grated cheese. Then it has to sit at least 15 minutes, it's so hot it's bubbling.

If I'm taking the time to make a pizza, I want it to be a meal or three.

I found the pizza pan to my Mom's Guardian cookware set at a flea market for $10, the one piece she didn't have. She asked me if I was going to give it to her because, you know, missing piece and Mom. I told her, hell no, I make pizza on it! She said since I use it, I guess I could keep it. Thanks, Ma.

Posted by: a dude in MI at January 03, 2025 02:50 AM (+I6Y/)

513 JQ,

That Guardian cookware set is from the 1950s. Finding it at a flea market 40 years later was a plesant shock. One flea market purchase I didn't think, 'Should I? Or shouldn't I?' I grabbed that sucker right up. Lugged it around after paying, not wanting to leave it on the table. Heavy aluminum, about a quarter inch or so thick; it's 14" in diameter, so decent slices. Makes a great pizza. Heats evenly and well. At 450 degrees, it takes 45 minutes to an hour to cook, like lasagna. I slightly pre-bake the crust, just until it's not tacky, that is no color. Comes out crispier on the bottom that way.

I put on my pie what I like/have. I always have sausage in the freezer but sometimes I want pepperoni. Mushrooms not every time but I've been on a fresh mushroom kick of late. Sliced Kalamata olives, always. Who makes a pizza without black olives? Heathens, that's who. Sweet pepper slices always. Sometimes a few onion slices (like half an onion), depending on my mood. But usually it's Italian sauage, black olives, sliced onions and peppers. It's a sausage and pepper hero, just a different presentation.

Honestly, I can't affort a $30 plus, not including tip, take out pie, and that's maybe with pepperoni. (It's $3.25 a slice at the pizza plaze. I forget what a pie is but figure around 8 slices x $3.25. Add a topping or two and it adds up real quick. And since I like pie, I am forced to make pie. And since I'm forced by circumstances to make pie, I want to make my pie damn tasty. The 'eat it cold right out of the refrigerator' tasty. (I finally got a good dough recipe a few years ago.)

I make what I guess one would call deli/fast food because I like deli/fast food and I can't afford to go to any delis or fast food joints, not there's any delis near me worth a visit anyway. I make my own chile for dogs. When I'm industrious, a big batch of hot dog onions that freezes well. Burritos. I make pretty much everything from scratch, tortillas excepted. I don't buy any fresh food pre-sliced or grated as it's more expensive. Besides, I have a knife and a cutting board and I know how to use them.

525 On careful reflection, and after reading the item WD linked, I have to agree that Holly (Gennaro) McClane is no angel.

I have never seen the final two movies, so I had no idea they involved John's children.

I'm trying to remember: In the novel Nothing Lasts Forever by Roderick Thorp, which became Die Hard, I believe the lead character Joe Leland (the hero of the novel/movie The Detective) is out in LA visiting his grown daughter. But in that previous novel, he was having troubles with, or was estranged from, his wife. So the film Holly may have had her roots in the initial novel.

What I've learned to make is, wait for it, a version of the Underwood Canned Roast Beef. I start by cubing a chuck roast, using the bones/scraps to make a broth. Strained, I cook the meat in that broth until practically tender. I add a can of tomato paste and spices, cooking again. Once I'm happy, I use a wooden spatula to break up the cubes and stir while reducing on high heat. I end up with a seasoned thick tomato-beef spread.

537 My local sewerage and water people actually moved fast to repair the break in the water main that cropped up last Sunday. They were here, across the street from me, on Monday and finished on Tuesday afternoon. They had to cut off my water from 9-4 each day, but I had water stored, and it was a small inconvenience compared to having to detour around a small river and lake in the street. I am, how you say, astonished?

John and Holly are estranged and she is using her maiden name because that makes some plot elements easier:
1. It allows McClane's name to be revealed without then having her as hostage #1
2. If they were living together, the party would be in NY where John is a cop and he would be able to get a quicker police response.
3. It allows for a limo ride and Argyle. Otherwise he would just drive there.

2. If they were living together, the party would be in NY where John is a cop and he would be able to get a quicker police response.
3. It allows for a limo ride and Argyle. Otherwise he would just drive there.

544 I have seen 81 of the 87.

Conan the Barbarian: didn't interest me, still doesn't

Krull: same

Blade Runner: fell asleep less than halfway through. Found it stupid and incomprehensibly boring. Never cared to try again

Purple Rain: sorry, I don't care how talented, Prince was a freak

Last Dragon: not interested

A Christmas Story: I still haven't seen it all the way through in one sitting. Actually tried again just three days ago. It's just not that funny (sorry)

545 The other day, while I was at work, my sister stole my apple ipad and tested to see
if it can survive a 25 foot drop, just so she can be a youtube sensation. My iPad is now broken and she has 83 views.
I know this is entirely off topic but I had to share it with someone!

547 Howdy! Do you know if they make any plugins to help
with SEO? I'm trying to get my blog to rank for some targeted keywords but
I'm not seeing very good results. If you know of any please share.
Kudos!

548 Write more, thats all I have to say. Literally, it seems
as though you relied on the video to make your point.

You clearly know what youre talking about, why throw away
your intelligence on just posting videos to your blog when you could be giving us something informative to read?
