Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | AP: "Americans" -- By Which We Actually Mean, Partisan NPC Democrats -- Are "Mentally Exhausted" By the Election Loss and Are Tuning Out of the "News"This is a story about how brokebrain #Resistance progressives are no longer watching propaganda channels CNN and MSNBC, because they feel burnt out, and they probably feel like those propaganda channels lied to them about the likely outcome of the election. The propaganda organization AP decides to lie and claim "Americans" are tired of political news, despite Fox News's ratings increasing by 13%.Americans are exhausted by political news. TV ratings and a new AP-NORC poll show they're tuning outAll "Americans" huh, AP? "People" are mentally exhausted, AP? Or just the people you think are worth mentioning? Oh! You don't say. Here now, the ratings crash: AP admits, casually, that MSNBC's audience consists of little but "Trump haters," but apparently doesn't think AP itself has any bias. Oh, both sides, huh? You mean "journalism" is more than a bunch of know-nothings shouting their uninformed opinions at a rapidly diminishing audience? Celebrities are over. So is the whole legacy media: Speaking of YouTube, WDW_Pro says that Megan Kelly's 109 million monthly views are greater than the monthly views of CNN or MSNBC. On YouTube, that is. Not the same as ratings but an important comparison. A new report says that two very detestable people detest each other. Good, I'm glad. I don't want to do all the work for them. Let these two talentless zeroes pitch in with some detestation. ABC News legends David Muir and George Stephanopoulos secretly loathe one another and are mired in a 'historic' feud, it has been claimed.I'm sorry, did you call them "legends?" In what sense? Stephanopolous is a malignant dwarf and maybe stole a magic ring from Siegfried or something, but "legends"? Bonus: Now that the government is about to pass into Republican hands, it's time for the media to discover the four-years-dormant homeless problem that is just happening right now, just this second.

The "homeless" became an industry in Los Anchorage over the past 10 years. They are churning out so many addicts and crazy folks that we left, once and for all. I drive in three times a week for work, but that's on base, so I don't even see those creeps. The library is unvisitable, every street downtown is covered with aggressive panhandlers, their piss and crap, and then they pass out in the snow and ice and have to be "rescued" by the "Safety Patrol" paid for with tax money. Anchorage has become San Francisco lite, and I can do without it. They ruined my city; to hell with then.

62 The "homeless" became an industry in Los Anchorage over the past 10 years.

We had a really big driveway and a lot of cars. All the cars were buried up to the roofs! 4-foot deep snow drifts. No bread, no milk, no eggs, for days. No power for a while. The house was cold. No school, though. Posted by: Soothsayer at December 27, 2024 06:31 PM (PTLBM) Please vacate my lawn, LOL!! Let's see...we were i our home for 3 years, married for 6. Never lost power, but because of my parents' OCD about being prepared (and passed on to their son), we had plenty of food. And heat. In fact, we had two big storms at that time back to back, one week apart. The industrial size snowblower we had back then got a real workout! Ahhh, fun times. 62 The "homeless" became an industry in Los Anchorage over the past 10 years.
---------------- Little appreciated fact. After the Great Migration North, many northern cities switched to the Curley model. Instead of relying on industry, ports, finance, etc. as a tax base, they relied on social welfare clients. So their priorities changed. They were no longer working for the productive class, but working for the unproductive class and their state and federally paid managers (teachers, social workers, criminal justice,...) This is why they all started voting in Dems, and why the Obama/Covid/Biden bailouts of sending them billions in federal money was so destructive. They profit from the decay so of course they encourage it. Posted by: Gentlemen, time for a reckoning at December 27, 2024 06:42 PM (iPB82) 119

My parents both grew up in Milwaukee, and they loved to speak of the Great Blizzard of ‘47, when they were kids. I looked it up - it was the greatest and longest snowstorm in southern Wisconsin history, and it took the city an astounding 46 days to completely dig out all the neighborhoods and open all the roads. Dad said it was the greatest time ever to be a kid - schools were shut down for the entire month of February, and the the entire city was a wonderland of snow castles, tunnels, and hidden forts.

Totally off topic:
Saw "Nosferatu" yesterday. It was pretty good. Not great and not particularly scary. Mostly hurt by being too long. It could have easily been cut by 20-30 minutes. Hard to read people's minds but, I guess "Nosferatu" was Eggar's feminist reply to his own movie, "The Witch". In both movies a young, pre-teen(?) woman was targeted by a malevolent, male(?) entity. In "The Witch", the woman succumbs to Satan in exchange for supernatural powers and is damned forever. Spoiler - more or less but, you know, the story is like a hundred years old...anywho... In "Nosferatu", the pre-teen already has supernatural, girl boss powers and is targeted by a vampire, Count Orlock. In order to save, her husband and the city she uses her power to sacrifice herself to the vampire and saves everyone. BONUS!: The heroine rants and screams just like our modern day real-life woke heroine at your local mall. At one point, she even dyes her hair blue!!!!! 🤪 Anyway check it out. 172 If a joke is any good, why do they think they need to install fake laughter?
Posted by: Common Tater --------- We are social creatures. We laugh when others laugh. Theater often works because of the audience, and with TV it was just a bunch of people sitting at home and it didn't work without the audience laughing. Studio audiences cost more, and they require a different set-up for filming and production. It is also less forgiving for errors or edits. Modern shows seem to have found a new way to connect with the viewer without the social aspect. Or maybe the viewers are changing. I don't know but back in the day I think laughtracks served a purpose but you all are right that they really stink if the jokes aren't laugh-worthy in the first place. They jumped the gun on the homeless stats. The typical Leftist plan is to wait until January 21.

The media delivery tech has changed, but the old saw still rings true: "If you don't read the papers (follow the media), you are uninformed. If you do read the papers (follow the media), then you are misinformed."

This is the same cope that Disney-friendly media has been using for years to explain away the MCU's increasingly miserable performance at the box office. There is, they say, a heretofore unknown phenomenon called "comic book fatigue," in which objectively fantastic films are hated by the public, for no other reason than that they are sick and tired of all the excellent family-friendly films the MCU keeps producing. (The American public is well known for having a limited tolerance for that kind of thing.)
It cannot be that the movies themselves suck balls, or that the people making them are tiresome, puritanical leftists whose only really obvious priority is to shove as much alienating political detritus into the script as possible, it must be that there's something wrong with the *genre* that wears on people after a while. They juxtapose the homeless stats next to articles about billionaires and record profits. Because everyone knows there's only so much wealth in existence and if a billionaire (not Soros) hoardes all that wealth Smaug-like, then that causes thousands of non-billionaires to become poorer and more-homeless, somehow. "Smaller percentages of Americans are limiting their intake of news about overseas conflicts, the economy or climate change"
I agree. I can live without a lot of news, but I couldn't go a day without the newly breaking climate change news! Posted by: Kevin at December 27, 2024 11:15 PM (UaIRk) Processing 0.04, elapsed 0.0494 seconds. |
