Hope everybody is having a nice Christmas Eve/Hanukah. Years ago, while stationed in the UK, I visited my sister, who was stationed in Germany. I went to visit her and off we went to the Alps. She went skiing, I got drunk. We had Christmas Eve at a friend of hers. He was Catholic, wife was Jewish. They had a combination of decorations. The Christmas tree had dreidels, Stars of David, and little menorahs on it, along with Christmas ornaments. The food was kosher and the drinks plentiful. A very memorable time.

The USA has a military base in northern Greenland. It used to be called Thule Air Force Base, but is now Pituffik Space Base. There are about 150 Space Force personnel there, plus a few hundred contract workers. The new name is often misread as "Pity F*ck Space Base".

Greenland is the largest non-continental island on the planet. It's total population is only about 56,900. Why? Because it's covered with the largest ice sheet on land on Earth.

Unless you use non-breaking spaces, most browsers collapse multiple spaces into one. It's part of the HTML standard (at least HTML4 - the last version I read).

Then opthamologist this AM… then retinal specialist to repair a large horseshoe tear in my retina with a laser treatment which was judged by doc to be a success. Perspective and gratitude are everything; it was unpleasant but I still have eyesight and it’s not invasive so no cutting. Always something to be thankful for….my eyesight is ratty and the floaters are here for a few weeks as you have to wait for them to be naturally re-absorbed by the body…
