The Morning Report — 12/24/24

JoeDolf.jpg

Good morning kids. Considering tomorrow is Christmas as well as Hanukkah, which are supposed to be, and indeed are joyous occasions, it pains me to have to bring you news items such as many of the ones below, which are not only not uplifting, but in the main, depressing and in some cases truly revolting. After yesterday's immolation of a NYC straphanger by a subhuman Guatemalan savage illegal alien in which the only thing people did was quite understandably quake in abject terror and horror, or worse, whip out their cellphones to film the barbarism.

No one helped.

The bystanders were too busy filming. The cops? Well, instead of wrapping their jackets around a burning woman in an F train stopped at the Coney Island-Stillwell Avenue Station on Sunday morning, they walked by.

Then there was Sebastian Zapeta-Calil, the animal charged with lighting the match that set the innocent subway rider on fire — thus igniting a hellscape that feels like a metaphor for New York City’s decaying underground.

The footage itself is a dystopian horror show: a female figure standing like a zombie while her sadistic torturer sits on the platform and watches her body be eaten by flames.

Not merely a metaphor for New York City, sad to say. Given the nature of the anti-American, anti-Civilization Left, which have spent over 200 years attempting to utterly destroy the pinnacle of Western and human advancement – the American nation as envisioned and established by our founding fathers. from its epicenter in the Democrat Party, in its drive for absolute power and control.

That is why what happened on that subway train to that poor woman happened, and just as tragic why no one lifted a finger to try and stop it. And why someone like Daniel Penny had to be destroyed by the aforementioned political party and movement of Evil incarnate. The psychotic fiend he accidentally dispatched while merely trying to restrain him is their creation. via LBJ and the dissolute parents that gave birth to him and then abandoned him to his fate, and ours. That multiplied by how many million since the Great Society? If not before.

I mean it when I write that every disaster, all of the ills, all the misery, suffering, dislocation waste of blood, treasure and human potential is the fault of or has been made exponentially worse by the direct action of the Democrat Left compounded by their attempts at "correcting" the problems that they themselves caused in the first place. The historical record is quite clear.

Remember, Joe Biden is not merely demented. Before his brain accelerated its rapid degeneration in front of our eyes over the past four to 12 years as both VP and puppet of Obama and Obama's puppet masters, Joe Biden was a perverted, venal criminal who spent half a century in public life selling his office to the highest bidder, including some of America's greatest foreign rivals and outright enemies.

Putting all of that aside for a moment, considering that his own daughter confirmed that when she was 12-years-old he bathed with her! Does this story really surprise you?

Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas said on Sunday that he is “aware of reports of children being trafficked,” but that stopping it is “outside the responsibility of the Department of Homeland Security.”

More than half a million illegal immigrant children have been knowingly let into the country in recent years — about 120,000 a year — under a policy shielding “unaccompanied alien children.” The New York Times found that one-third could not be located thirty days later.

Mayorkas shrugged aside the high numbers of children that disappear, saying some could just be illegal immigrants refusing to cooperate with the conditions they agreed to. “Individuals do not comply with the reporting obligations, or otherwise, I think it is inaccurate to say that all of them are trafficked or victimized,” he said on Face the Nation.

If it were merely ONE single solitary child that faced the monsters among us – the vast majority unleashed on us by Biden, Mayorkas and those who demand open borders and the dismantling of prisons, it would be a crime against humanity in my humble opinion. If only that Guatemalan savage set Mayorkas on fire, then we'd have justice because, speaking of one child left to fend for himself:

An illegal alien accused of causing the crash that killed 12-year-old Travis Wolfe in Hazelwood, Missouri, last year is now out of jail without paying any bail. Endrina Bracho, an illegal alien from Venezuela, was charged in March with one count of first-degree involuntary manslaughter, two counts of second-degree assault, two counts of child endangerment, and one count of driving without a license after allegedly causing a December 2023 crash that left Wolfe dead and his parents, Timothy and Stephanie Wolfe, injured.

¡De huevos y tortillas! You xenophobic ingrates.

And while we're on the subject of depravity and exploitation, I give you Leftism unbounded in all its raw glory!

A gay Georgia couple convicted of sickening sexually abuse of their two adopted sons will spend the rest of the lives behind bars.

William and Zachary Zulock, 34 and 36, were each sentenced last week to 100 years in prison without the possibility of parole, the Walton County District Attorney’s office announced.

“These two Defendants truly created a house of horrors and put their extremely dark desires above everything and everyone else,” said District Attorney Randy McGinley, according to WSB-TV. “However, the depth of the Defendants’ depravity, which is as deep as it gets, is not greater than the resolve of those that fought for justice and the strength of the victims in this case. The resolve I have seen from these two young victims over the last two years is truly inspiring,” he added.

You don't necessarily have to be homosexual to abuse children. But it sure does seem as if the overwhelming majority of horror stories like this feature homosexuals as the perpetrators. Of course, they are aided and abetted by deviants in and out of government who demand orphaned children be placed with homosexual couples.

As I have often stated,I don't care what two consenting adults do in the privacy of their own home, so long as children, animals or unwilling participants are not involved. The propaganda that 20 per cent to upwards of a third of the population are homosexuals is ridiculous. It's an evolutionary dead-end; Humanity would've buggered itself into extinction thousands of years ago. Can you say "grooming?" Sure, I knew you could.

That puts all those thousands of unaccounted for children Mayorkas refuses to acknowledge in a different and very chilling light.

But wait, there's more. A whole lot more!

As one of his final acts as president, Joe Biden is commuting the death sentences of 37 of the federal government’s 40 death row inmates, giving them life sentences instead. These 37 men include some of the most violent killers in the United States.

Given that the decarceration movement, the defund the police movement and the blood-libeling of America as founded as an illegitimate, racist, white-supremacist society built on the blood and bones of oppressed blacks and indigenous natives where only the dismantling of a criminal justice system that evolved from the savagery and carnage of human history into Magna Carta and its precepts that came to our shores with the Brits can redress those dangerous, mythological lies. I am shocked that infamous cop killer Mumia Abu Jamal was not pardoned by Biden. Meh, there's still three weeks or so to go before he departs. Given he barely knows who he is, let alone where he is at any given moment, He'll sign anything that whoever his puppet-master du jour is tells him to sign. As I had suggested in a previous column, How great would it be if Trump or Kash Patel, or whoever winds up at the top in Foggy Bottom and Langley can engineer the capture and/or repatriation of Joanne Chesimard (aka Assata Shakur)

where she can stand trial for murder and then hold a publicly televised execution. While I say to hell with this "restorative justice" claptrap, what I suggest above would indeed be both restorative for our collective American soul and Justice! Too long delayed though it may be. Give bipedal vermin Jamaal Bowman a front row seat, since he publicly hailed this scum cop-killer a hero.

On a separate note, even if a fraction of what Matt Gaetz is alleged to have done is true – and given the nature of the forces arrayed against him, and and us, and from past experience vis a vis the persecution and kangaroo court charges against Donald Trump, it's likely 100% of it is either total bullshit or exaggerated and distorted beyond all recognition to the truth. In comparison to any Democrat or Leftist, Matt Gaetz is as pure as the wind-driven snow.

All of that said, that this is both Christmas and Hanukkah, it is a season that celebrates great joy and of hope. Of deliverance into the light from a protracted epoch of darkness and uncertainty. Have faith, dear friends. Because together we shall indeed overcome!!!

Lastly, a shout-out and thank you for your continued support in hitting our tip jar. It truly is appreciated more than you can know. Have a great day! See you tomorrow on Christmas Morning and the remainder of the week.

God bless us, everyone!!!

21 Democrats aren’t so keen on the tariff idea, with 24% supporting and a majority 62% opposing the idea, with 14% not sure.

Two reasons... Trump proposed it and it doesn't punish their fellow citizens - queue article about India linked in the tech thread.

It’s been a long-held idea among most economists that tariffs are a bad idea, a tax on consumers that hits hardest those with less income. And it affects countries that depend on exports the hardest.

Why would I give a fuck if our taxes make it better for us at the expense of another country. Everyone on Earth has been ripping off the US, or pissing down our necks, or both, for decades. Fuck them.

While there is definitely more pathology here than just this, keep in mind that most human beings are wholly unprepared to deal with someone on fire. Or a largish conflagration even if there isn't a human involved. I could deal with it if I was near my car. Just tackling a person engulfed in flames - without benefit of a fire or wool blanket - to try and smother the fire would take an active decision of the will.

My favorite Christmas song. This one ran into my ocd as I tried to find one that matched the version in my head. Not quite, but close enough. It is a difficult song as most guys trying to sing it get wrecked by that high note.
Christmas is my favorite holiday. It is the perfect encapsulation of hope and of trying to make things better, of fixing them. I do not always succeed and often times my attempts are ham-fisted as hell. But the hope is you keep trying and do better, be better.

63 3. Replace Welfare With Work

Growth will require more able-bodied Americans getting off welfare and into jobs.

I read a study the other that pointed out there is no difference in spending power between the bottom 20% of earners and the next level of earners.
They both have around $60k to $70k of spending power. The bottom 20% uses govt funds to make up the diff.
The higher earning person in the household in the next 20% works around 42 hrs/wk. The higher earning person in the bottom 20% works around 40hrs/mth.

97 >>Fortunately, that wouldn't have happened anywhere else in the remnants of the USA. Would it?

Probably most places. In my experience it's apathy or indifference. Most people are not conditioned to act when an emergency happens. They assume someone else will take care of it or they just don't want to get involved.

Look at the Daniel Penny situation. There were a train full of people being threatened by a lunatic who was threatening to kill all of them and only one person stepped up.

Years ago when I was living in Boston a woman collapsed in front of me as I was walking home from work. She was having a seizure of some sort. Another woman walking next to me and I stopped to see if we could help her, everyone else just kept on walking and trying to not make eye contact. It's gotten exponentially worse with everyone having a camera in their phones. Now it's vitally important to film everything not do anything.

FJB now says in a written statement he officially commuted these death sentences out of fear Trump would have these convicts executed, per judicial sentencing. Rhetoric and disingenuous.

This nation has been run more or less 50/50 by both parties for my entire life.

When Republicans enter office they don't defund PP. They don't stop forever-war. They don't dispose of usury. They don't scuttle agencies and mothball government policy, They don't close borders. They don't do shit, frankly.

This "everything would be great if it wasn't for those guys over there" bullshit is just that, bullshit.

This is a full-blown, four-alarm holiday emergency here. We're gonna press on, and we're gonna have the hap, hap, happiest Christmas since Bing Crosby tap-danced with Danny fucking Kaye. And when Santa squeezes his fat white ass down that chimney tonight, he's gonna find the jolliest bunch of assholes this side of the nuthouse.

Correct. The attack happened at night, was partially concealed, no one ran out because it was hard to see (was it a gang?) but they shouted, called the cops and at that time NYPD did not have a central system, you called the precinct and the line was busy.

Almost totally mythical, but it served the necessary purpose: blaming society rather than criminals.

Dems R EVIL, their base BRAINLESS!

"There's a scene in the classic Sci-Fi film, The Time Machine (1960), where the time traveler (Rod Taylor) comes upon a futuristic society comprised solely of apathetic young people who sit around all day basically doing nothing.
He then hears a girl screaming, looks and sees that she has fallen into the river that they are all gathered around. Although she is clearly struggling for her life, not one of them does anything to help. Rather they just sit there silently and watch. That scene has always reminded me of our society over the past few decades, where few people today do anything to help someone in trouble, instead taking out their phones and taking videos which they will then post on their social media accounts.
Anyway, the time traveler immediately jumps into the river and pulls the girl to safety, as her "friends" look on in dumb amazement, appearing very confused over his actions.
I guess you'd have to have seen the film to know what I'm talking about."

A contractor who worked with DHS did testify before a House committee looking into this and the number she reported at the time was north of 320,000 children that have been "lost" by this administration. They turned them over to sponsors whom DHS promptly lost contact with. I assume the number is probably closer to 500,000 by now.

There really is no other reasonable conclusion. The Biden administration along with the UN and various NGOs have been trafficking children from around the world into the US.

She was maybe four at the time. I still hear her doing this 5-6 years later.
She's actually very nice and always says hi when I bike ride down her street. I once broke down in an old car I've been working on further down her block and she rode her bike down and was concerned that I needed help and asked if she should tell her Dad. In the late '80s and early '90s, I volunteered to take the Christmas Eve shift at the Christian radio station, as I was alone and most of the others had families. It was never a hard shift, playing mostly pre-recorded or network shows, and later classic Christmas music -- carols and choir performances, plus some modern Christian singers' material. I'd close down the station at at midnight. Usually I drove down to my old "home town," the Quarter. It was the quietest night of the year then, and I could always find a parking place and someplace open late to have dinner, and to remember my mother and my childhood.

I agree 100% with your assessment.

The scenarios you spell out are a prefect example of the secular viewpoint of whether one should or should not assist a person who is dying and in urgent need of saving.

"I care that that person is burning to death, and I think it's awful. But the consequences of doing something might involve some personal hardship and ramifications for me or my family."

That's pretty reasonable.

But the Christian holds the unreasonable position that there be no greater love than to lay one's life down for a brother or sister and that what one does for the least of these, they do unto the Lord.

That is why I say, outside of the Christian paradigm, there is no "ought" that justifies an obligation to help a stranger in need. Christianity calls us to forsake the concerns of this world, of our health and welfare, of our very lives, out of servitude to Christ.

285 The Great War?

Time for obscure history lads and lassies.

The first time England suffered an aerial Blitz occurred on Dec 24, 1914 when a German seaplane from Zeebrugge flew to Dover to try and bomb Dover Castle. Instead, the 22lb bomb fell and exploded in a cabbage patch causing some damage but no casualties.

Dec 25, 1914, the same German aircrew tried to bomb the docks on the Thames River near London but was chased away by RFC fighters.

287 @199 Bulg-you intervene to put the fire out on that lady......who has your back? You start to put out the perpetrators handy work while he's still standing there, guy has a weapon and uses it on you while you're focused on undoing his handwork. You don't know if he has buddies with him nearby.......

It's possibly a life n death decision. Even Daniel Penny was vulnerable if the perp had had a knife while he was on the ground or vulnerable to attack if the guy had had friends to help him.
I have a friend that I help on occasion with self-defense classes and these are all things you have to consider when getting into a physical altercation or intervening on something like this. Situational awareness. Laws. Consequences. Not trying to dissuade anyone from being a Good Samaritan but you better be aware of what you're getting yourself into if you are going to escalate things. It's a shame you have to think like this but its reality.

293 On the next street, backed up to my backyard, I would periodically hear piercing screams of an obviously young girl. Sounded like she was being hit or stabbed.

------------

After I graduated from college some *mumble mumble* years ago, I returned home to Las Vegas to take care of my unemployed, alcoholic mother.

I had little money (and was looking for my first professional job) so had her stay with me in one of those crap-hole apartments where you can pay weekly or monthly.

One night I heard sustained, horrific screaming coming from the room above (through the stove vent); my first instinct was to rush up there, but I also heard other voices so knew that the person wasn't alone.

Long-story short: I called 911; the police arrived in about 5 minutes; I directed them to the room. I waited for them to return to the parking lot, at which time they informed me that I'd heard somebody performing an exorcism. That was a first ...

My father was a copy editor for 30+ years. He started out working the night shift and got all the holidays, because he lacked seniority. His days off were Thursday and Friday. As a result, his parents served the holiday dinners early, because he had to go to work by 3.

As time wore on, he should have moved up the ladder, but newspapers were declining and while he gained seniority, no one came in behind him, so he basically was stuck there, but didn't mind it. He finally got Christmas off during the 1990s lockout/strike, went back to work for a bit, and then took a buyout. Until I was an adult, Dad always worked on the holidays, but it was no big deal. You get used to it.

315 Tyrus was recently on The Five and commented about the burning murder. I like him, but disagreed with him in a big way this time.

He mentioned that Daniel Penny was found not guilty, so that gave promise to the future for good Samaritans.

My thought - the verdict didn't matter. The process was the punishment. How much of Daniel's life is ruined, how much of his time spent in jail waiting trial, and how much of his wealth was destroyed to hire lawyers to fight Bragg?

How many "Good" liberals of New York would go and assassinate him? Then turn around and cry for cops when they get stabbed and bleed out on the very next subway ride?

Daniel said he would do it again. He's a good man in a shitty, shitty world. New York doesn't deserve him.

BTW - "Bragg", double-G, sounds like the dopey villain of a Saturday-morning cartoon.

So 60 years later, we're still 'discussing" Kitty Genovese's murder and The Bystander Effect, yes?

Story Corps, 'Remembering Kitty Genovese'
In part, "On March 13th, '64 one of the most infamous crimes in American history occurred in the Kew Gardens neighborhood of Queens, New York. At around 3 AM, 28-year-old Catherine "Kitty" Genovese was attacked, sexually assaulted, and murdered as she walked from her parked car. The assault lasted thirty-five minutes and occurred outside of an apartment building where a reported 38 witnesses either heard or saw the attack and did nothing to stop it. A front-page article in the New York Times* sparked an avalanche of press and weeks of national soul searching. The case has lived on in plays, musicals, TV drama - it even spawned a whole new branch of psychology.

Today the name Kitty Genovese remains synonymous with public apathy, although almost nothing is known of who she actually was. ..."

* Weeks later.

319 History, 'Kitty Genovese, updated May 21, 2021, presents a more comprehensive piece on her murder & its results.

OTOH, Mother Jones, September 19, 2024, 'The Tragic Inevitability of Overpolicing New York’s Subways'
How an allegation of fare evasion escalated into a horrific police shooting.

In part, Can overpolicing backfire? How do outsize police presences affect communities, particularly communities of color?
The approach that this administration has taken since day one is overpolicing.

"They’ve identified police officers as the be-all, end-all, sole solution to every societal ill. Fare evasion? Send a cop after it. Homelessness? Send police to conduct sweeps. Mental health crises? Instead of sending peers and EMTs, send a cop instead.

It’s a formula that this administration seems wedded to, but it’s not improving community safety for New Yorkers. Police are primarily concerned with enforcing criminal laws, making arrests, and issuing summonses. They have an enforcement mindset, not a delivery of services or addressing root causes mindset."

^Also interesting article.

And, of course, there's Daniel Penny who wasn't a bystander & has paid a very steep price.

Posted by: L - Rooster one day, feather duster the next at December 24, 2024 11:35 AM (NFX2v)

320 Years ago, Good Samaritan laws were enacted & publicized to reduce bystanders' hesitation to assist. Don't all states and D.C. still have some form of Good Samaritan laws?

But whatever side we're on, it - society - is NO better than what it was 60 years ago. We're a more populated, louder, older, diverse nation; increasingly ducking personal responsibility and social morality, emphasizing individualism for some...depending.

We're losing cohesion, common goals, our culture. Few pats on the back are due for 2024.
