Big Jake, one of the World's largest horses during his time

Big moose.

Major elephant.

Big bison.

That's no king cobra, it's a Kong cobra:

kingcobra.jpg

Massive moose Elk.

That's a big bull.

Colossal cow.

Serious bunny.

More big critters in the thread.

Cat has opinions on whether or not it's time to wake up.

Dog has opinions on whether your being five minutes late to give him dinner is acceptable or not.

Blowing bubbles in freezing air. It's a little more interesting than you might think.

Otters of a non-evil nature.

Gotta keep your eye out for these rapacious Scandis.

Baby racoon wants to be involved.

Owls have +12 to stealth checks.

Some people just don't like hearing Christmas songs 24/7.

Hoosegow Honey.

Puppy obstacle course.

Friday!

Happy reindeer is limbering up for his big night!

This is strange and creepy. Fits in with the "giant" theme, though:

It's like one of those Interdimensional Cable shows they watch on Rick and Morty.

Hello, we're from the State Snausage Pick-Up Service...

27 I just learned the fancy word for "stoning to death" is "lapidated"! [Also used for "throwing insults at" as a secondary definition.]

Huh. Now I'm not certain what di-lapidated means anymore.
Posted by: Chuck Martel

dilapidate (v.)
1560s, "to bring (a building) to ruin, bring into a ruinous condition by misuse or neglect," from Latin dilapidatus, past participle of dilapidare "to squander, waste," originally "to throw stones, scatter like stones," from dis- "asunder" (see dis-) + lapidare "throw stones at," from lapis (genitive lapidis) "stone" (see lapideous). Perhaps the English word is a back-formation from dilapidation. Intransitive sense of "fall into total or partial ruin" is from 1712.

Thatch @THATCH_ARISES 2h Replying to @elonmusk
You are figuring out that the GOPe is Dem-lite and they have always been a problem given they are essentially enemy agents working behind our lines.

They fight tooth and nail to keep the base from getting ANYTHING while making sure the donor class gets everything it wants.

We despise them more than even the Democrats and they have to be purged from holding any sort of power before the country can move forward.

It is obviously meaningless to call our country a democracy if the elected leaders are unable to read legislation before voting!!

alexandriabrown @alexthechick
Mr. Musk: I humbly request that you consider putting time and energy into supporting the passage of the Read The Bill (yes, that's the sanitized name) Constitutional amendment.

The Read The Bill amendment is as follows:

"No bill may be voted on by the House or the Senate before a human being, reading at a natural pace, reads the text of the bill on the floor of the House or Senate respectively. Only one bill may be read at a time on the floor of the House or Senate.

Posted by: andycanuck (hovnC) at December 20, 2024 08:27 PM (hovnC)

109 alexandriabrown @alexthechick
Each proposed amendment to a bill must also be read by a human being, reading at a natural pace, on the floor of the House or Senate respectively before voting on the amendment. Only one amendment may be read at a time and the reading of the amendment may not take place simultaneously with reading of the bill.

After amendment or after reconciliation of a bill in conference, the full text of the amended or reconcilled bill must be read by a a human being, reading at a natural pace, on the floor of the House or Senate respectively before the amended/reconcilled bill may be voted upon."

If nothing else, this will insure that at least one human being on the planet read the bill in its entirety before it is voted upon.

Amendments (back when the Senate had those, on the floor) were often read in their entirety, most were fairly brief.

THIRD TIME’S THE CHARM? CONGRESS TRIES (AGAIN) TO AVOID A SHUTDOWN

Speaker Mike Johnson is rolling out his third plan to keep the government’s lights on, featuring:

• A funding extension until March (a.k.a. kicking the can down the road).

• $110 billion for disaster relief and farmers.

Gone is Trump’s demand to raise the debt ceiling.

Now, Republicans are bickering, Democrats are side-eyeing, and a shutdown looms at midnight.

Will this be the plan that saves the day?

Idiot Mitch further beclowned himself today as he apparently doesn't know recent history of shutdowns. Only real shutdowns were in 90s, GOP gained seats after both (and won the substantive battle involved). Beltway GOP relies on the ignorance of their own electorate on matters like this. I am in a lot of pain. A few days ago my shoulder began to hurt along the inside of shoulder blade. I was at physical therapy yesterday and it didn't help. I went to a deep-muscle massage today and it doesn't seem to have helped. The arm works all right, it's just that frequently there's a sharp, stabbing spasm.

We have to drive two hours to a Costco or Sam's. We've learned we were buying a lot of stuff we didn't need.

I loved shopping at both places but we realized we save a lot of money not shopping there.

Yeah. I know.

Here's my statistical prediction: those fake employment numbers just corrected, clearly just election propaganda of the kind they pump out every month, will be cited unchanged for the rest of his term, into retirement and in his obit. He'll never take back the lie.
