On the way, while driving through the Everglades, she wanted to see a gator in the wild. So, I pulled over, we got out and waited. Didn't take long. Not an uncommon site in Florida.

Pouring down rain, but warm.
About noon the city came by to tell me they had moved the big dead branch that fell off my maple in the side yard off the street, and I was unaware that it had fallen.
Then a friend called to tell me that the dead spruce in his yard fell down and took the gutter off his house and could I help him with it, so I took the saw over and bucked it up for him and put the branches in the dumpster for him.

Looks like it is going to rain for the rest of the week here, but it will be warm

I am pleased to nominate Herschel Walker as United States Ambassador to the Commonwealth of the Bahamas.

Herschel has spent decades serving as an Ambassador to our Nation’s youth, our men and women in the Military, and athletes at home and abroad.

A successful businessman, philanthropist, former Heisman Trophy winner, and NFL Great, Herschel has been a tireless advocate for youth sports. During my First Term, he served as Co-Chair of the President’s Council on Sports, Fitness, and Nutrition. Herschel has traveled to over 400 Military installations around the World, removing the stigma surrounding mental health. He represented the United States at the 1992 Winter Olympics as a member of the U.S. bobsled team.

Congratulations Herschel! You will make Georgia, and our entire Nation, proud, because we know you will always put AMERICA FIRST!

Just impressionistic - and official government data probably are no longer much help - but I've sensed a recent surge in prices, noticeable even after 3 years of jaw-dropping inflation.

Leaving the grocery store for less than $50 almost never happens now. Four years ago, that was once every month or two or if stocking up, protein, or alcohol were factors. Still not used to it. Unboiled frog, which means very uncomfortable.

In a bad case of deja vu, egg prices are soaring once again, rising nearly 38% between November of 2023 and November of this year.

Nationwide the average price for a dozen Grade A eggs was $3.65 last month, according to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics.

The major culprit is the bird flu. According to the CDC, about 33 million commercial egg laying birds have been killed by the disease in 2024.

About half of those deaths came since mid-October, severely cutting into the egg supply.

257 LOL, Debby!

Hubby was always taking my good sewing scissors for 'shop projects'-- ruined a few-- so I bought 2 multi-packs of cheapo scissors at homelydepot for him. More than enough, that he hasn't lost them all after, I dunno, several years... and I've hidden my Good Scissors so well that even I cannot find them now. Haha.

The cheapos are surprisingly good, at least good enough for cutting gift wrap & simple stuff like that.

Anyway, I'd help ya with your "wrapture" cos I've got plenty scissors and both kinds of tape-- the regular old shiny cello tape (which is best for foil wrappers) AND the 'invisible' kind!

Well, yeah.. but.. has anyone ever before, gotten more than one pardon from the same president? Or, even from different presidents?

Just wondering.

332 I thought Hunter and the Biden Crime Family won't just top cold.
But then again the Clinton's seem to have.

Write "president" and "precedent" in any color crayon and challenge Joe to note any difference.

My favorite crayons flavors are burnt sienna and purple. I hope you use those flavors.

336 Greetings from Southeast Asia fellow hordlings! Home for me (When not living the ExPat lifestyle in Singapore), is in Spring Texas and I can personally attest that the Louisiana lady's test for alligators is also the one we use for Texas.

Also - the Trump team response to the idiotic, completely un-serious and inconsequential Senator Warren is (*Mwhah*) the chef's kiss of perfection. These people are to be ridiculed and/or ostracized and, finally, ignored. The next four years are gonna be lit!

Lastly - I see that Kamala Harris actually thinks she is some type of party leader, or elder stateswoman, if you will, rather than the pathetic, borderline-retarded, California-Marxist, unlikeable alcoholic that she actually is. Better yet - there are a large number of leftist NPC's who also think this, having drunk from the large batch of Obama advisors' DNC Kool-Aid. I only hope that she runs for President again and actually gets the nomination so that she can be curb-stomped by JD Vance in 2028, a la Sonny Corleone beating Carlo in The Godfather. Alas, the odds of this happening are slim to none, and slim already left town, no matter what polls (polls are for strippers!) say.

A friend was the representative of the Hungarian Chamber of Commerce in Singapore.

Was not happy when called back to Hungary, even with a senior government job.

339 Hey Miklos - Yes, given the choice between Singapore and Hungary I would likely choose SG, particularly if we are talking wintertime. I was in Budapest many, many years ago and it was lovely, though (as were the women!). Not sure what goes on there these days Filia Redux has a friend there and she is going to visit her later next year - I will get a full report then and debrief the horde. Btw - feel free to come visit - I can show you around. Also goes for any hordlings. In fact if any horde members visit anywhere in Asia - please let me know. I have been to most countries in the region and done business there - so can offer advice; or I might even be in-country for a business trip - just missed Blond Morticia on her last trip to Korea! So let me know.

Pax ex!

Wish I could help BD. Tbh - chugging a few cold ones whilst assembling a piece of furniture with a fellow hordling, and shooting the breeze (of course) sounds a little bit like heaven to me right now. Feeling a bit far from home at Christmas-time and its getting me a bit blue
