Evening and morning to all the Thor's Day early risers and later toilers!
Specialised devices like this from small startups will always be high-risk. It's a bit like complaining that you can no longer buy ribbons for your 1923 Underwood typewriter, except faster. *** Yes, but at one time the Underwood and other typewriters were everywhere in the business world and even in homes. This robot represented a small portion of buyers. There was once a typewriter with a more logical keyboard arrangement of letters and numbers. The creators claimed that it was easier to learn and would be faster to type on. The world plumped for the QWERTY keyboard. So if you have one of these robots now, it would be like complaining that you can't find service for one of those specialized keyboard machines from 1895 or whenever. My cough drags on. It vanishes for a while, and I think Im fine, and then I'm barking like a rabid seal again. The Tussin DM cough medicine I bought yesterday does not seem to help much. It's ntt the sleepy kind, so I'll take it to work with me today and dose myself at appropriate intervals.

The Dvorak keyboard layout.
Posted by: Ciampino - The good ones taste nice at December 12, 2024 *** Was that the name? I'd forgotten. Yes, it was a pioneer effort. From what I recall, businessmen actually wanted to *slow down* the speed of their typists (??), so they preferred the layout we've come to know. Wolfus: How long have you had this cough and how long have you been treating it with a DM cough syrup? If it's longer than 7 days, see a doctor and ask about a hydrocodone (vicodin) based cough syrup to quiet the chest. It's much more effective, and DM (more correctly, DXM) has nasty mental side effects (paranoia and nervousness increases pretty significantly) if taken longer than 7 to 10 days. Saw someone go through that when they were taking a DM cough syrup for 4 weeks straight. It ... wasn't pretty.

The Killer Kittenz From Outer Space are having fun. The big black male chases the little gray girl, and then she gallops around him. Posted by: Grumpy and Recalcitrant at December 12, 2024 *** G & R, the cough just began. The sore throat cropped up on Saturday evening, and I was sneezing and sniffling Sunday through Tuesday. Once that cleared up with the help of DayQuil, the cough began. So it's only been a day or two. It just seems longer. And I haven't been sick in more than two years, so it seems even more onerous. @9/Wolfus: DVORAK keyboard history -
https://tinyurl.com/5t4daryx Long ago, in high school, I had a typing teacher (yes, they had classes for stuff like this back then, I gather they don't anymore) who knew both the QWERTY and DVORAK keyboard. His speeds were 120 wpm for QWERTY and ~200 for DVORAK. To this day, I'm still amazed that he managed to learn to easily "switch gears" mentally between the two systems. I've been typing on QWERTY for decades, and the thought of learning a second system? Well, let's just say I find that idea daunting at best. Some nitwit here in Las Cruces jumped in his Suburban, put it in reverse, stomped on the gas and smashed into a hotel room injuring one and killing another. The perp claimed he was trying to pursue some other perps who were harassing him. Video surveillance showed he jumped in the, fired it up, and smashed into the unit without ever touching the brakes though he claimed he did. The judge gave him $5000.00 bail which it can't make, so there is that. Note to self: commit crimes here.
