It reminds me of the Pillar of Skulls from the video game Planescape: Torment. A member of your party is Morte, a wise-cracking, floating skull that was ripped from the pillar. Anyone who braves the hellish landscape of the plane of Baator can receive answers to nearly any question--for a price.

At a key point of the game, you have to decide if you are going to shove Morte back into the pillar or if you want to keep him in your party and offer a different sacrifice to obtain your answer. It's actually a pretty tough moral choice.

Yes, just made some on Sunday.

The black women in the produce section when I pick up a batch seem suspicious of me (I'm rather white, and this is not in the South). I'm often asked how I cook them (the usual, except with bacon instead of pork whatevers and I toss in some red pepper flakes).

167 Everything is ruining the planet...

Rock-stacking is one of humanity's most ancient art forms. But it is also contentious.

Hike far enough on just about any trail in the world, and you'll likely spot a collection of stones placed atop each other that form impromptu sculptures. Some call them cairns. Others favor more colorful terms like "stone balancing" or "prayer stone stacks." Whatever the name, the act of stacking rocks atop each other is ubiquitous.

Over the past decade or so, for better or worse, rock-stacking has become even more popular. What many don't know, though, is that the practice is controversial, particularly in national parks and other protected areas. Depending on who you ask, it can be a crucial navigational device, a rewarding mindfulness practice or an environmental menace.

Hes got a point. The one person to bring 24 hour attention to the mass murderers in the healthcare industry is going to die in prison, while far worse criminals continue to literally make a killing.

3. What's the point of two different names for the same thing? They could all be called either stalagmites or stalactites. We could differentiate their orientation if necessary by simply saying "a stalagtite...from the cave ceiling." But no, we have to have a specific word for such a thing -- stalactite.

"Former US President Bill Clinton is blaming the “mainstream media” coverage of Hillary Clinton’s email controversy for her loss in the 2016 presidential election to Donald Trump.

For years, Democrats have accused Russia of helping Trump defeat Clinton, despite no evidence ever been found to back the allegations.

In a recent interview to with MSNBC to discuss his book ‘Citizen: My Life After The White House’ the former president highlighted the “rage” he felt after his wife lost to Trump, despite polls predicting her victory.

RT reports: The 42nd American president took aim at media outlets for their focus on his wife’s controversial use of a private email server for official correspondence instead of a protected, government-controlled one, during her time as US secretary of state between 2009 and 2013.

301 I once had a discussion with my slightly less lunatic sister-in-law. I suggested a more libertarian approach to government where she could do whatever she wanted but I didn't have to pay for it.

I made a similiar argument during the Obamacare debate.

You think healthcare is a right? Ok you and everyone that agrees can go create a healthcare collective and split the bills in whatever way you want.

The consistent answer? But then YOU wouldn't have to pay for MY healthcare

The left still hates them because they are a corporation and because they want the federal government to directly run healthcare.

309 I'm told hikers often create cairns as waymarkers to help avoid becoming lost. Shouldn't need that on a marked trail. But I could see doing so if one was marking where he crossed a marked trail.

I suppose they have to be taken down periodically to keep there from being so many that they can't serve their purpose. Maybe the ranger had just such a purpose in mind. Or maybe he was just a government employee acting like one. Hard to say.

The brilliant idea behind Obamacare:

Hey, let's take/restrict the earnings that doctors make from their labors and give it to the insurance companies and more importantly use it to build a big huge bureaucracy of lard-asses who do nothing but restrict your use of medical care.

And this big fat layer of bureaucracy laying atop the entire medical industry will ackshewallee make everything cheaper and unicorns and brontosauruses will once more frolic in the world.

The reason is that previously brontosaurus and apatosaurus were thought to be two separate dinosaur types but it was then shown that the type specimens for these two were, in fact, the same genus and, according to convention, the first found's name is used and the apatosaurus was found first. Brontosaurus is a cooler name, though.

I ackshewallee stood in quicksand to see what it was all about, when visiting Mont-Saint-Michel in France during low tide.

The pits of quicksand in the bay were easy to find. Our guide stood in one and moved his feet and legs around till he sunk over his knees then laid forward on the sand and got out easily.

I tried it. Simple, barely an inconvenience.
