Garrett, if you are still here, wanted to respond to this but I had to leave for a bit:
>>> Can you Imagine 50 years of 'Imagine' if that asshole had lived? Actually, from what I've heard he was changing as a person at the time of his death. He had shacked up May Pang in an on again, off again thing. The media diminished it as an 18 month fling, but she claims it lasted until his death. Who knows if he would have stayed married. And he was leaning more libertarian and starting to question the left's teachings, like Malcolm X did before his death. (I joke that any icons of the left, when they go right, the only solution the deep state has is to kill em.) I kind of wish we could have heard the music he would have made, had he continued in that path. His son Sean has followed in that sort of unorthodox, libertarian sort of thinking. (Room #1601 at Disneyworld's Polynesian resort was where John was staying with May in 1974 when he signed the papers to officially dissolve the Beatles.) Hah, true! We had some relatives from Europe visit us out West, and they didn't realize cattle drives are still a thing for ranchers. We were driving in a canyon, and suddenly we had a herd of cattle around us on all sides, and cowboys on their horses with the Stetsons and spurs and everything. They were in absolute heaven! Taiwan's Defense Ministry said Tuesday that it has detected a dozen Chinese naval ships and 47 military planes in the past 24 hours but no live-fire activity as in previous military exercises. The deployment covers a wider area this time, with additional ships going beyond Taiwan into other parts of the Pacific, defense officials said at a news conference. Lt. Gen. Hsieh Jih-sheng said China’s navy is creating two walls — one at Taiwan's perimeter and another outside the first island chain, which extends south from Japan and through Taiwan to the Philippines. “The message they are sending is very simple: The Taiwan Strait is ours,” he said, referring to the waters between Taiwan and China. One tale before I go.
Walking to the elementary school this afternoon, I saw one small black knit glove on the sidewalk. At full spread it was smaller than my palm. It was cold and windy. Took the single glove into the school, and placed it on the Lost and Found trestle table. Which was overflowing with garments, bags, and water containers. Truly a First World Problem of today. I used to support the classroom technology, so I'd have to go around and check out the classroom podiums. Found all sorts of things: umbrellas, calculators, "clickers," glasses, etc., that students had left behind. One of my students this semester almost left his *wallet* in class, but another student turned it in to me and I turned it into the campus police. He recovered the wallet just fine. I am pleased to nominate Ronald (Ron) Johnson to serve as the United States Ambassador to Mexico. Ron will work closely with our great Secretary of State Nominee, Marco Rubio, to promote our Nation’s security and prosperity through strong America First Foreign Policies. During my First Term, Ron served as the Ambassador to El Salvador, where he worked tirelessly with Salvadoran authorities and our team to reduce violent crime and illegal migration to the lowest levels in History. He also served our Country for over twenty years with the Central Intelligence Agency after a distinguished career in the U.S. Army as a Green Beret. He graduated from the National Intelligence University with a Master of Strategic Intelligence. Congratulations Ron. Together, we will put an end to migrant crime, stop the illegal flow of Fentanyl and other dangerous drugs into our Country and, MAKE AMERICA SAFE AGAIN! I’m heartsick right now. I was just informed that an innocent woman died today in an auto accident involving a member of the Rome Police bomb squad who was responding to the threat at my home. My prayers are with Tammie Pickelsimer, her family, the officer who was injured, and the entire Rome Police Department. These violent political threats have fatal consequences. It’s an undue strain on our law enforcement who must treat them seriously. The officer was responding to protect my life. And now, a woman has lost her life because of this despicable act. The perpetrator of this crime has committed murder in our small community of Rome, Georgia. The police shouldn’t have to respond to these threats and there should not be deaths caused at their hands. I’m so thankful for everything the Rome Police Department does to protect our city and for putting their lives on the line to do it. I’m sick to my stomach, but I’m also angry. This should have never happened and I pray it never happens again. Posted by: andycanuck (hovnC) at December 10, 2024 09:41 PM (hovnC) 190
