24 Temp is 48 F., a little warmer than yesterday. I'll need to bundle up a bit for my workout.

Most of yesterday's ventures for Miss Linda's b'day did not work out well. The hair trim did; she looks good, as usual. But she didn't like the lipsticks she examined at Macy's, and neither Whole Foods nor the thrift store had anything she was hoping to find.

I'll buy her a pumpkin pie this morning on my grocery run.

30 The 1986 version of Stagecoach, aka the "Country Singers Edition," is on Grit: Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, Kris Kristofferson, and Waylon Jennings are in it, plus Mary Crosby and Tony Franciosa. This is the third version, I think, after the 1939 with John Wayne and the 1966 with Ann-Margret. This one seems to be mounted well, and all the singers are also pretty good actors.

Georgie (Soyara's Dragon Slayer) is a year-old Borzoi. The pass-fail test is to see whether a dog (of any breed) will chase a electrically-operated lure (white plastic bags tied to a line) over a straight-line course of 300 yards. An operator keeps the lure moving just fast enough to stay ahead of the dog. The dog has to finish in 90 seconds. George, because he has the instinct to chase and the structure to move fast, finished in about 15 seconds.

While conformation events are run professionally with almost Prussian punctuality, field events are exasperatingly slipshod. This drove me nuts the times I worked as a paddock master at coursing trials. I know there are inherent inefficiencies: lines break, dogs have to be retrieved, paperwork brought in from the field. That means you need to keep on top of all the stuff you can control but no ones does.

Hope everyone has a lovely day.

99 96 Lots of media reports Trumps Tariffs costing Volvo billions here in South Carolina.

State government went hugely into bringing manufacturing into the State.

Perhaps it could have been a better balance, with infrastructure upgrade costs not placed on residents tax shoulders in the process.

It's about 10 degrees warmer this morning than yesterday morning. I was cold right down to the core yesterday. I really thought I was unwell: chilled, tired and dizzy. But I took my temperature and I was just cold. I was tired from the allergy medicine I took and dizzy from the RV leaning slightly because it was parked on a small slope and the slide was out.

Came home after church, had a bowl of turkey soup and slept from 6:00 to 10:30. Staggered off to get the guys put up and fed, then staggered back to bed.

101 I'm dreaming of the first articulate leftist leader to turn. To realize that a leftist Utopia is a delusion.

Then to get on the tube and address their former compatriots and tell them to "JUST STOP". And then say why without insulting them.

To tell them that Putin and China are their real enemies.

The beginning of the conservative revolution will not start immediately but slowly as the masses are deprogrammed.

It better happen in France, Britain and Germany too.

121 Sausage Supper at Mr. S's church went great. They fed over 400 people, the food was delicious (though he thought the sausage was too spicy and I thought it was the best we've eaten since we've been here) and there was food leftover for feeding the local homeless today.

They liked the vests I worked on too, so that was nice.

There was an abundance of beautiful pies- one man made 14 lemon meringues- but those of us in the pie room agreed that the organist's coconut meringues were the best.

For reasons unknown, my video feed has been featuring sermons by Pastor Gino Jennings of the First Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ. They're funny and sad at the same time.

Like all Protestant ministers of a particular stripe, he rants and raves about the Catholic Church as full of hell-bound idolators, not realizing that proof that the Church is divinely ordained lies in the fact that any other institution so badly run would be out of business in a month.

What's sad is that his views on abortion, marriage and behavior are closer to Catholic doctrine than a lot of his (*ahem, ahem*) more liberal Protestant brethren. Abortion is evil, marriage is a lifelong pact, avoid near occasions of temptation to do wrong, modesty becomes a woman.

One of my favorite local stories in recent years occurred at one of the large black churches in town. The 5 leading members of the women’s altar guild, meeting in the Pastors office, got into a knock down, drag out fight so bad that police were called, arrests were made. Best part - pastor was present, he apparently sat in his chair and did nothing but watch. Don’t know if he had popcorn.

But the transgender medical officer and atomic tranny dogboy were fine. Although neither probably needed Senate confirmation you'd have thought the GOP would have had something to say about them.
