Over 3,400 such grants were given. Disturbingly, such grants used up only 0.29% of the funding in 2021, but their number swelled each year until, in 2024, they used up over 27% of NSF funding.

Trump should take this advice from Hakeem Jeffries. Politico-

"House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries called on President Joe Biden to pardon more people convicted of nonviolent offenses amid controversy over the president’s pardon of his son, Hunter Biden.

"“During his final weeks in office, President Biden should exercise the high level of compassion he has consistently demonstrated throughout his life, including toward his son, and pardon on a case-by-case basis the working-class Americans in the federal prison system whose lives have been ruined by unjustly aggressive prosecutions for nonviolent offenses,” Jeffries said in a statement."

279 A congressional investigation into sexual misconduct allegations at a troubled Veterans Affairs facility in Tennessee revealed that at least 12 officials who worked there took part in an orgy — and one employee had sex with 32 different co-workers.

Several VA officials in the state have resigned amid the probe into the Mountain Home VA Medical Center, also known as the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center, as the investigation has intensified, according to Breitbart News.

A bargaining unit biomedical employee had sexual relationships with 32 different women who worked at the facility — and he and several of the women bragged about it on an online government communication portal that VA officials use to communicate, sources told the outlet.

He had his own fan club -- and yet he so often played villains and unlikeable sorts. See his villain in Quigley Down Under, for instance. Somehow he often gave his villains a hint of humor, too. We saw it in Hans multiple times, and in QDU as well.

I imagine him as Orson Welles' character, Harry Lime, in The Third Man, doing the famous speech:

"In Italy, for thirty years under the Borgias, they had warfare, terror, murder and bloodshed; but they produced Michelangelo, Leonardo da Vinci and the Renaissance. In Switzerland, they had brotherly love; they had 500 years of democracy and peace -- and what did that produce? The cuckoo clock!"

He was great in Quigley. He was even better as the Sheriff of Nottingham. I know a lot of people don't like the Costner Robin Hood movie but Rickman carried that film, again like a boss. And yes, there was humor in his performance. He was amazing. And no one.... No. One. died on film better than Rickman.

Yes, and as another commenter here mentioned, the cuckoo clock actually came from Germany. But it is a neat line; and Welles delivered it with panache. Imagine how much fun Alan Rickman would have had with it.

Posted by: miguel cervantes at December 04, 2024 11:09 AM (pGTZo)

368 If the shooting was an Op it had to be planned. At the critical moment a number of people had to be in certain positions and the doing specific things at a single physical location.

Timing is everything here.

Then Mr. Byrd, who is probably not a marksman considering his past negligence in handing a fire arm, had to fire a precision shot in a dynamic environment.

All this without a rehearsal.

Nobody in a position of authority would OK such a thing.

Way too risky and then someone would talk when it went bad (most probable outcome) to defend themselves.

And if you saw the pics of her face when she was lying on the floor, that was someone who was dying.
