Our visiting cats decided it was too cold outside to stay there more than a few minutes. Hopefully this is the start of them becoming indoor cats.

They both enjoy sleeping under the Christmas tree our friends' daughters decorated yesterday.

No. He first started losing interest in things that used to bring him joy. He quit playing with toys. He quit stealing campers' food. He stopped playing with his siblings. He stopped playing altogether. He almost never left the cave anymore. He started hibernating a month before everyone else, and stayed asleep for a month after the other bears woke up. He was eating less and less, and sleeping more and more. He started thinking about darting out into traffic, but he couldn't muster the energy to head out to the road.

Was backing the tractor out of the shop, and it ran out of fuel and quit. Right. There. Took a lot of doing to get it going again, but it is now parked.

I use the term "Yard Sign Calvinists" to describe these people because they absolutely believe in the utter depravity of man, but they also believe that they themselves are saved, and being saved, they can do no wrong. This is why, for example, when a diary is found by Biden's daughter pointing to child abuse, the person who goes to jail is the one who published it, not the perp.

It's why Obama and drone strike civilians because he's one of the Elect. They usually don't identify as Christian, but they very much believe in a Higher Power, the Arc of History, Karma, etc.

Right now, they are have an existential crisis because Trump won. Because they are Elect, they don't believe they should suffer. Funny thing, though. When Winter really sets in, Ontario gets cold, and snowy, and it stays cold. Here in Alberta, we get breaks. When the warm Chinook winds hit, temps can go up 50 degrees in an hour, and the snow melts like a mofo. Trees get fooled into budding out early.

My little shop, which is a detached 2-car garage, is well heated by radiant floor heating. Very cozy right now. Big shop, where the hoist is, is plumber for floor heating, but no heat source hooked up.

And the tractor ran out of Diesel, not gas. Which is why it was a struggle to get it going again.

What is the other side? I'm doing Calvin a favor by pointing out that his doctrines have contemporary applicability, albeit in a very distorted way. Christopher Taylor engaged with me and agreed that it had some merit and was not a shot against actual Reformed theology.

I have no idea. I've often wondered about that. While years of hunting innured me a bit to the plight of wildlife, in recent years I have become a great deal more sympathetic. Constantly looking for food, the constant fear of becoming food, constantly seeking shelter, probably frightened a good deal of the time.

We have had incredibly good, clear weather since the storm. One thing that I and the neighbors have noticed is increased activity by birds. Loss of nesting, perhaps. I'm certain that hundreds and hundreds of squirrels also lost their nests.

I know it's meant lightly and I laugh, but I have had a number of short videos on RC subjects come up.
