Quinn got his start when his parents got Buddy Guy to let him up on stage when is 8ish. Buddy and Quinn soon formed a tight bond and when Quinn was bit older he would tour with Mr. Guy when school was out.
I them together around 2014 and Quinn, while in awe of his mentor, would get a bit cheeky on guitar. It was then that Mr. Guy what stop his clowning and school Quinn about who was the master and who pipsqueak. There love between them was apparent.
This video is from a few years later and captures Quinn with his own band. Mr. Guy taught him well and Quinn learned well. These young men crush one of Clapton's masterpieces.

So, for example I googled best progressive political meme of 2016. The first hit that matched my search was a picture of the Republicans running for president in 2016. The caption is "If Republicans don't believe in government maybe they shouldn't run for it"
Now the left wing narrative, at the time at least, was that Republicans oppose the very idea of government and want complete anarchy. This was the official narrative at the time. Do Republicans oppose the idea of government? Of course not. And within a few weeks as Trump won that primary the narrative became "Republicans are literal NAZIs!"
So is this a good meme? Well it was outdated in weeks. It doesn't point out a truth, even an exaggerated one either - put in army of Ted Cruzes or Trumps in every elected office and you'll still have a multi-trillion dollar federal government two years later.
So what does the meme do? Well it lets other leftists know what they are supposed to believe this week. And...that's a terrible meme

Ryan Borgwardt is alive and well after staging a kayaking accident in August.
Authorities believe Borgwardt has fled to Uzbekistan but they are uncertain on his exact whereabouts.
Borgwardt reportedly went kayaking on Green Lake, where he dumped his phone in the water and used an inflatable boat back to shore.
Borgwardt then used his electric bike before jumping on a bus and crossing into Canada.
Back in June, a street interviewer interviewed a man in San Diego who said he was considering moving to Uzbekistan for a woman.
It's unclear if this man is Borgwardt however their stories seem to line up.

I started taking the water taxi and got to know the guys who worked it. I know most of them by name now and it's really great to see them and nod, smile and get the occasional hug. I've brought them beer and rum and Christmas cookies and cards. I know if I ever had any trouble within their earshot, I'd be fine.

I once rode the Seattle buses from Lower Queen Anne to the Photo Center up on Capitol Hill for my shift there. If my shift was in morning I would get stuck on the bus that picked up the methadone clinic people. Maintaining boundaries was not their collective strong suit. And the one lady with the white rat she keep in her shirt was always a for sure WTF experience. Needless to say I didn't talk to anybody. I have heard that everything is worse today.

The cats Snowflake and Trumpy are inside. It's a miserable night in my part of Canada so they were happy to come in. Not our cats... But when we cat sit them in January, considering they've been basically living here 7 weeks, they'll be right at home.
Today we took the dog Ralphy to the vet. It was an ugly day so the cats were inside when we were gone and had the run of the place. Sleeping when we came back.
And Mom had an appointment and dog and cats had free reign. All was good.
'Saw 5' was good. I'm enjoying the series a lot.
My god-daughter was over and we watched 'Saw 2' and she was amused that I needed to take breaks. Man, now, compared to some of what I watched, Saw....not that bad.
I'm unjabbed in Canada. No easy feat. And I'm in an angry mood.
Except for the Mom, Ralphy, Snowflake and Trumpy.

I know my mother once told me in the night sky she suddenly saw a giant planet as she was looking up. And then almost immediately it disappeared. She could have been dreaming or it could have been an eye thing her mind interpreted as a planet BUT the atmosphere can do all sorts of weird things including lensing something like the moon even if it is incredibly unlikely.

If you have to wear glasses, view this as an opportunity. The magic words are Intra Occular Lense (IOL). Put your glasses "on" permanently. Two issues:
1) Medicare and/or most health insurance will only pay for standard cataract surgery. The cost of the IOLs comes out of your pocket.
2) You anonymous pick 2 of 3 to correct- my/ hyper opia and astigmatism OR my/hyper opia and presbyopia. If you're near/far sighted AND astigmatism AND can't focus close, it can't be corrected completely.
I chose to live with bifocals or reading glasses, and had my extreme myopia and astigmatism corrected. Went from 20/200 to 20/20. I have bifocals with plain glass and the bifocal spot when I'm going from near to far work, and nothing when outside. No "must wear corrective lenses" on my DL for the first time in 50 years, plus I get to wear the really cool shades.

Early this evening I posted a video of Quinn Sullivan from 2018 and added a few comments about (See 24 for those details).
The video for this post is from 2023 captures Quinn, now a young man, early 20s, playing at the highest levels of musicianship. This not accidental since at this point he has been playing professionally for over 10 years, maybe a bit more.
The band with him is essentially the 2018 band. This video is a performance of another Clapton masterpiece, Why Does Love Got To Be So Sad from Layla. The artistic maturation of these prodigies is stunning and special. The band has this gift to transcend making music and produce something more, sound as poetry.
Not to be missed. Quinn and company should be on your radar if you love this type of thing.

Sudden, HARD blue norther line of thunderstorms comes scudding in. 50mph winds, 6 ft. waves.
And me, solo, in a 12 ft. boat with an 18 hp Evinrude on the stern. (boat was rated for 10hp, max).
Took an hour to crab across the waves, and get back to the ramp.
Not a blue water ocean, but it would've killed me, all the same.

Simply, if prices go up, stock prices must go up too … or you are losing real value

There are a lot of tradeoffs and pluses and minuses of all sorts of things, like weight involved with using RTGs or solar panels. Close to the Sun, solar panels win. Farther away, RTGs win usually.
Juno, however, is using solar panels. Curiosity and Perseverance rovers do use RTGs.

The Nasdaq is nearly 2x where it was two years ago. Inflation sucks, but it’s not that bad.
Mostly we’re in a speculative frenzy. Markets are very disconnected from underlying fundamentals. Stocks go up in good economic data—although far out of proportion to what is reasonable—but stocks also go up on bad econ data, because it causes hope of more stimulus and accommodative monetary policy.
However, I would say this frenzy is the result of nearly four decades of easy money. The system is so flush with cash that the only thing to do is bid up the price of equities.

So we still have a visa lottery but with the added Diversity qualifier. In spite of this some Americans still have trouble getting their non-citizen spouses into the USA from Europe.

Nobody in the serious business of multi-billion dollar companies honestly thought this was a good idea.
It was all BS and it became obvious to most involved that it was affecting the bottom line but there was nothing that could be done because their customers were in the same situation.
The fact that it is collapsing so quickly is proof.

I would start with:
The smallest offices probably started with 3 people: Head, secretary and a runner so .....
- any dept. with 5 or fewer people can probably have its portfolio handled entirely by another bigger dept. Saves manpower and office resources including space.
- if the original mission of the dept. has been achieved or its inception is so far in the past that it implies it is just a dead weight then close it, regardless of any recent new "missions".

Can you call Elon and ask him to put more in the very northern hemisphere? We tried Starlink but it had to find a new satellite like, every 8 minutes or so, and had a hard time doing that. Lots of waiting. Not so great when running a meeting.

After surgery, 20/20 in both eyes. Don't need glasses for reading or driving. Never had a problem since.
