/s But seriously, we watched him shoot an "unarmed protestor" to death on livestream. Is that not the bigger issue here? In what other context does a cop getting trigger happy and killing an "unarmed protestor" (to use the lefts term) not lead to a real big problem for that cop? OT, carried forward from below Back in the early 90s, the Analytical Services Group (ASG) in DuPont of which I was a member underwent a reduction in force. Each employee was asked to write out what they did in their present assignment (yes, "What is it you say you do here?"). Then those in charge took in all those job descriptions and cut out those things that they felt ASG no longer needed to do or which could be directed to other portions of the Company. It was brutal, and it certainly was stressful, but it had the patina of being legally valid because "we are choosing no longer to do these things". There were severance packages offered to those release to "pursue new opportunities", of course. There also were stern warnings of "... and do NOT think that you will return those released under this program back into the fold by turning around and hiring them as contractors." > How the fuck do you fail a shotgun qualification?
He's a fuckup. But seriously, whenever I hear someone advise a newbie that they need to buy a shotgun for home defense, I cringe inside. A pump shotgun is one of the most difficult guns to handle properly. Between the difficulty of loading one under stress, clearing failure to feed / failure to fire issues, difficulty unloading, different safeties across models, and the extremely common issue of newbies short stroking it, it's a terrible recommendation. On top of all of that, it's ridiculously common for people to falsely claim you don't need to aim and the sound of racking a round will magically scare away bad actors. Some will be scared away, yes. But teaching newbies that that sound is some sort of talisman against having to use a gun defensively is really dumb. Meet Dan Hodges, one of the J6 celebrity cops. In never-before publicly posted footage from Hodges' body camera, Hodges is seen randomly assaulting J6 protesters outside the Capitol at 2pm. This is about 40 minutes after DC Metro and Capitol Police launched their first assaults on the crowd gathered on Capitol grounds. Police improperly used "non-lethal" munitions including stun grenades, rubber bullets, pepper balls, and tear gas on peacefully assembled protesters, which enraged the crowd. Hodges and other DC Metro officers arrived in head-to-toe riot gear ready for a fight. Listen to the reaction from Trump supporters who had already witnessed one fatality and several injuries at the hands of police. Some called them "storm troopers" and "traitors." It is necessary to understand the widespread use of excessive (and unnecessary) force by police officers that afternoon that in many cases led to physical clashes between cops and protesters. https://tinyurl.com/ub5n8bn2 thread as an ordinary webpage -- no X account required Posted by: andycanuck (hovnC) at November 22, 2024 05:36 PM (hovnC) 91

It upsets some people to suggest this, but every video I've seen of Babbitt's murder looks fake to me. Actually, the fact alone that there just happens to BE video of it - lots of video - makes it kind of suspicious.
How come we never hear about why Ms Babbitt happened to be right there, with notable trouble-makers, instead of hanging with family, or whatever. Her background struck me as being not so different from that of Carter Page, who was spying for the CIA. Obviously, it's just a coincidence that this occurred just outside Nancy Pelosi's office, which is where Special Forces went in and grabbed Nancy's laptop (something the Speaker's office essentially admitted). It's not like they might need a diversion, or something. How come nobody talks about that, BTW? The Speaker's laptop is stolen by the military, and nobody freaks out? Hmm... Michael Byrd demonstrated repeatedly over 16 years that he is the proverbial loose cannon: rash, confrontational, possessing poor judgement at best, and at worst used firearms with zero regard for public safety and disregard for most basic rules of using deadly force. It is almost as if his unhinged character reached its apex destiny when he murdered Ashli Babbitt on January 6, 2020.
And that the Federal government, long past being for the people, by the people, a mafia government whose prime directive was to serve those in power, those with extreme wealth, and their imported 3rd world horde whose main purpose is to cement their power, would ensure that a murderer would never stand trial or consequences. And, as if to rub our collective noses in all their corruption, he was promoted to Captain while citizens who committed, at best nothing more than misdemeanors, were tossed into prison for years. Trump and his barbarians cannot get here soon enough. Posted by: Altaria Pilgram at November 22, 2024 05:54 PM (vO42M) 164

So let me see if I have this straight: the notable troublemakers, i.e., the leaders of Antifa and/or the Proud Boys are ... Feds? Do I have that right?
Posted by: Deplorable Jay Guevara at November 22, 2024 06:01 PM (YqDXo) Working for the Feds. Either undercover or simply being paid off. Try to keep up. But you seem to be really fixated on pretty unimportant part of the story, so that's interesting. Trying to divert attention away from the other stuff, perhaps? Trans activist calls on LGBTQ people to get guns to threaten anyone who doesn’t let men in women’s bathrooms. Democrats want men like this to invade women’s spaces. https://tinyurl.com/w9pucrrj 1:29 minutes; I only lasted 30 seconds but at least he doesn't use the fake high-pitched girl voice many affect. ... The whole day was weird. They instigated and then allowed a lot of damage, not just this incident but broken windows and similar stuff all over the Capitol. They wanted some level of damage so they could create the narrative they did.
Posted by: JackStraw at November 22, 2024 06:17 PM (LkLld) It started with the fake pipe bombs. Those were to get the Capitol police riled up against the protestors. Magically, the FBI couldn't track down the perp or perps (LOL). Then the Capitol Police, in turn, basically attacked the assembled crowd, trying to get them to turn violent. Not only was it all clearly orchestrated, but everybody KNEW it was going to happen. Kamala went full victimhood, saying "I was there" at J6, but she wasn't. "Somehow", she felt the need to go visit the DNC HQ (with the fake pipe bomb that she oddly never talks about) instead of attending the joint session that was certifying her to be VPOTUS-elect, and she never returned. It probably took weeks to plan the Special Forces Op in the Speaker's Office, and Trump would have had to OK that. The objections to the Electoral College votes was only going to be 2 states, while 3 were need. The whole thing was FAKE. Posted by: MrExcitement at November 22, 2024 06:29 PM (hOOi9) 242
Was the State of the Union that Pelosi angrily tore up AFTER J6, where Trump stole her laptop? I forget.

>>>The issues in officer Michael Byrd's background included a failed shotgun qualification test, a failed FBI background check, a suspension for a lost weapon and referral to prosecutors for firing his gun at a stolen car.

178 Babbitt gets shot, nobody in the crowd panics that they're being shot at, and somebody from the crowd simply steps forward and takes charge of evacuating Babbitt's unconscious and dying body. Everybody else in the crowd is either obviously MAGA, with MAGA paraphernalia, of some sort of uniformed cop, but not the guy who took charge - he's just a guy in a suitcoat. What's a guy in a suit coat doing there? And why is he taking charge? Beats the hell out of me.
Posted by: MrExcitement at November 22, 2024 05:42 PM (hOOi9) Bullshit. That's not what happened. There's video, so there's no good reason you're lying about it. Posted by: BurtTC at November 22, 2024 05:58 PM (lH8E4) Everybody has seen it, so a better question is "Why are YOU lying about it?" What part would any reasonable person take even exception to, to the point of calling "BS"? I'm not even pointing out the really suspicious stuff.
