Dave McCormick Defeats Three-Term Incumbent Bob Casey to Become Next Senate's 53rd Republican Vote

53 votes isn't quite enough, though.

We need more votes. We need to be able to ignore Murkowski, Collins, McConnell, Cornyn, and Bill F'n Cassidy.

And Lindsey Graham. And John Thune. And James Lankford.

Good Heavens, our party is filled with nothing but Democrats who con the rubes.

Oh well, we won't get enough for that.

Unfortunately, CIA agent and Deep State ringer Slotkin defeated Mike Rodgers in Michigan, too. Supposedly.

And they called Wisconsin for Tammy Baldwin -- despite the Republican having more votes until the very end.

And, alas, Democrat Senator Rosen supposedly defeated Republican Sam Brown in Nevada. By something like 0.2%.

People say she only pulled ahead after a -- get this -- sudden dump of "ballots" after the election:

So 53 is all we'll get.

So disappointing.

Whoops: I forgot, Lake might still win. And there could be recounts.

AZ Senate still not called.
MI is called for Duckworth but close enough that Hovde can legally call for a recount.
RNC should absolutely demand receipts in both, also NV as you note.

Posted by: gKWVE

Update: Conservatives are rallying around Rick Scott for majority leader, but conservatives are very much a minority in the "conservative" party. It will probably be Thune because the liberals like him. He's McConnell's protege and enforcer.

Jesse Kelly
@JesseKellyDC

We desperately need Trump to publicly support Rick Scott for Senate Majority Leader.

If it’s Cornyn or Thune, it's a continuation of McConnell.

And without Trump's weight behind Scott, he will not win.

This matters. A lot.

The problem with these people isn't so much that they don't vote in favor of conservative priorities, especially around judges, it's that they're overeager to show deference to Democrat presidents.

They're a bit less of an issue with a Trump as president.

It'd be overall better if they were replaced, for sure, but the turncoats to really worry about for the next couple of years are Collins, Murkowski, and Mitch.

The number only changes if I made a counting mistake (which can happen on the first or send count) or if I filtered through the bills to remove the counterfeit ones.

93 75 The only way to stop the last minute ballot scams is to require Voter ID for all federal elections as well as eliminate any vote counts from ballots arriving after election day.

This is the single most important thing Trump and his majorities have to do in 2025, nothing else is even close.

Until this happens, it's still nothing more than re-arraigning deck chairs on the Titanic.

The VRA of 2025 (written by TJM) would include provisions that required all states to finish counting no more than 6 hours after the close of the final precinct, and those that do not are stripped of their status as states, returned to territorial status, and placed under military dictatorship for 12 years after which time they much show that they have run 6 mock elections over that time that matched federal requirements.

94 My willowed comment on McCormick [with one addition]:

Two years ago, when Fetterman got into the race and McCormick faced Dr. Oz in the R primary, I was an Oz supporter (better name recognition), but skeptical on McCormick - even though his wife was in the Trump admin. Working for Trump in his first term wasn't exactly a net positive in my book, esp. after all the backstabbers were exposed. Had a sense that McC would be another Romney, as he was #2 at Bridgewater and Dalio was, at best, a RINO squish. [James Comey was Bridgewater's Chief Legal Officer while McCormick was there]. Now, however, I think that he would be a better fit with Trump 2.0. Happy he won this time.

The law in those states often have any ballot mailed by Nov. 5 required to be counted when they are received. Then there are provisional ballots, etc.

The problem is cheat by mail ballot elections and that is why no other sane country does it that way.

Slow to count and very prone to cheating as you cannot verify who gathered it nor who actually filled it out. Dirty registration rolls make cheating explode in those states.

In 2016, looking at PA, Trump won with the total vote being about 2.9 million, Trump's share a little more than 48%.

210 I don't want to give false optimism, but don't be counting out Lake.

And especially don't think she is a bad candidate, or is not liked in AZ.

She started 120K votes down, because they dumped the most Democrat tranches first. This was done to drive a narrative.

Since then she went to 57K down, and there are still over a million ballots to count. When the tranches drop, she is getting the margins she needs.

AZ was supposed to drop at least through last Friday last night and maybe through the weekend. They only dropped 24K ballots (which Lake again won).

The Turning Point guys are saying that none of the ballots they chased have been reported yet, and they focused on other counties. When the first batch of Yavapie ballots dropped, she won 76% of them.

So it will be another long process, and the longer the process the more time Richer has to find a way to cheat her out of another election. But it is far from over, and far from hopeless.

On a related note we need to immediately start encouraging all illegal aliens to relocate to the states where the governors are saying they will not cooperate with the deportations. I'm thinking public service announcements and starting the busing to Martha's Vineyard back up.

Turning Point guys also said Richer was doing that to prevent curing GOP ballots. All ballots with problems have to be cured by Sunday to count.

I think the GOP problem in Maricopa is related to the open border for big agri there, money laundering to finance development and pad bank profits, and the drug/human trafficking by cartels.

GA GOPers, due to Hartsfield and Savannah port have both trade with China and human/drug trafficking interests. Nexus to both as a transportation hub. Add in acting as fluffers for the entertainment industry in Atlanta.

Chamber of Commerce types in Atlanta have ruled the state for decades under GOP or Dems as well as the suburban counties around them.

Generic GOP candidates versus Trump. Trump like Obama is a personal constituency and many of them, like the Dems for Obama, don't give one crap about the standard uniparty party turds that get nominated from the system.

290 Trying to make congress move is a fool's errand.

Instead, make them squirm. Make them legislate. Make them cast gut-turning difficult votes.

No more continuing resolutions, spending levels by Dept held at x% below prior year, any bill that restores federal drones' lost wages during government shutdown is automatically vetoed.

Set the congress snakes and bureaucracy snakes against each other. There's no point pretending negotiating with either will work.
Posted by: 2009Refugee at November 07, 2024 05:14 PM (8AONa)

Make them fill in all of the holes they left open for the Executive Branch to legislate. Until the gaps are filled with actual legislation, they're unenforceable.

Between that, and spending bills, Congress will be busy for a decade or two.

If Trump played nice with him at this point, he's probably going to yes him to death and go McConnell's way anyway. Weighing in will at least put Thune on notice that he's being watched. McConnell at least had some wins to give him goodwill. Thune's a cipher at this point.

Also in national elections, if their candidate is a known quantity, they don't win. They need most of their leaning voters to pretend they aren't just another Democrat.

Posted by: I used to have a different nic at November 07, 2024 05:06 PM (ExV1e)

The SEbate filibuster does not always apply, IIRC. When a Party has House and Senate Majorities, a Budget Reconciliation Bill can be pushed through without being filibustered. It has to be scored by CBO as revenue-positive or -neutral. I think the Trump tax cuts were pushed through on Reconciliation. I think Biden's first big spending bill for COVID 'recovery' was pushed through via a reconciliation bill. The Inflation Reduction Act /spit/ was also a reconciliation bill I believe.

Trump, Johnson?, and Thune? can write a reconciliation bill to do a lot to the DeepState, sanctuary cities and states, and so on. Whig, if you're here correct me as needed.

No. You can do a lot via reconciliation rules but only in big package deals in the Senate. I think, unless rules change, you are limited to two of those during a session.

The first reconciliation bill will be continuation of the tax cuts of Trump (which is why the market is happy) and whatever is germane which is an obscure ruling by the Senate Parliamentarian as to what is allowed and what is not. Has to have some tie to fiscal budgetary matters--which fixing illegal migrants getting bennies in fact does as do taxes on remittances.

Ironically, Trump has a lot power already on tariffs and trade with China and other enemies of the US.

Trump has had four years to contemplate what to do and now a host of experienced officials in his admin to advise him how to do it.

Be fun to watch.

Then you have the Friends of Ghislaine Society who are all rich, the Friends of Diddy in entertainment, and probably other disgusting and deviant activities like convicted murderer Ed Buck and Adam Schiff being big pals.

During a press conference Thursday afternoon, Powell said he would not step down from his position as Fed chief even if President-elect Donald Trump asked him to.

Later on, another reporter asked Powell if the president had the power to fire or demote him from his position. The Fed chair responded that such an action was “not permitted under the law.”

India and China did a recent kiss and make up of at least some of their issues. And they are all part of BRICS and making up ways to trade without being held hostage to the dollar. So while India might like being a middleman (like they are for laundering Russian Oil for the US and Europe) they are likely to stay away from the west.

Interesting things happen when you press too hard, people find ways to get around it. Euro banks are already seeing the effects of their attempt to steal assets by governments and individuals they decide they don't like.

As long as they don't drag behind you on the ground when you walk, you're fine.

Joan Rivers had a laugh-out-loud bit on a show where she talked about sagging breasts and pretended to throw them over her shoulders to continue walking.

Ironing can be hazardous if sagging enough to get in the way but not sagging enough to flip over the shoulder.

If it’s taking a week to count, it’s a cheat

If the votes come in the next day. It a cheat.

They couldn’t replay 2020, but it doesn’t mean that paces like Nevada with the Reid machine aren’t still operating. And remember, they thought they had this in the bag.

438 424 Why the fuck is curing a ballot? Sounds like a do over. So you can change your mind. That’s bullshit and should be illegal.
Posted by: Simple Caveman Lawyer

It is more like on absentee ballots that you did not sign or date something, or it could be that you did not enclose proof of voter id, etc. Curing laws are different depending on the state as is when you can cure them. Some make it mandatory to have them cured before election day.

Then there are the federal UOCAVA ballots to the military, provisional ballots due to faults in registration, glitches, and so on (those can often be cured--not revoted), absentee ballots sent to citizens residing abroad, and emergency UOCAVA ballots for those that did not receive their state absentee ballots requested via UOCAVA postcard from their election officials in the States. They are supposed to timely send out absentee ballots in fulfillment of UOCAVA postcard requests to US citizens residing abroad.

Whole thing is a mess of conflicting state laws, conflicting federal laws, and local election office incompetence and malicious fraud.

440 People are overreading the ticket splitting in Senate races. Ticket splitting is less common than in the past, but still happens. And in a tight race even a small amount of ticket splitting makes the differences. In MI, PA, and WI, it was very, very small, but the races were pretty tight so it made the difference.

It does not appear that there was much R/D ticket splitting (i.e., Trump, and then a D Senator). There was probably some under voting (only voting for President) but not too much either. Instead, a small (but critical) group of Trump voters voted for third-party Senate candidates in WI and MI. In WI, I believe these were candidate funded by Democrats to siphon off votes, with names like the "America First" party. It wasn't that they voted for a D Senator, they didn't. Part of this is probably due to funding, some of it may be due to the candidates not hitting good themes, not exactly sure what else.

441 It is a little disheartening to know that soldiers can get their faces blown up while protecting our rights only to come back and have women cheat them out of their right to run for office without the election being rigged. Shameful of Jacky Rosen and Nevada to leave the elections open past election day.

Posted by: wferrin at November 07, 2024 06:01 PM (70Jdt)

442 A recount is not enough. There must be an audit of all post-election ballot dumps. Californians should not be able to rig Nevada elections.

443 One thing about Lindsey Graham - I don't remember hearing a peep from him the past month or more.

He porked the poodle in 2022 when, after Roe/Wade was moved out of the federal level, he went and pushed for an abortion ban... at the federal level. Rather than take a win and let the Republic deal with the change, he zoomed ahead and pissed off a lot of people. That was probably one of the factors that made "The Red Wave" mid-term election crash.

Not sure who the better angels were that kept him away from cameras, but hats off to them for preventing another soundbite that could have been costly.

444 366 I heard that Maricopa County just got a Republican in the key election role.

They replaced a Republican. The new one doesn't answer to Cindy McCain (yet).

Thanks for that clarification.

I sure am tired of "Republicans" that do nothing but deliberately weaken the Republican party.
