Sefton: sefton at cutjibnewsletter.com | Democrat Hit Man Jack Smith Discussing How to "Wind Down" His Political Prosecutions of Donald Trump With Merrick GarlandI'm sure he's got his eye on doing maximum damage. He won't get to bring Trump to trial, but he'll write a fiery, unprofessional accusation against Trump in a fake DOJ report. The Justice Department and special counsel Jack Smith's office are engaged in active discussions about how to wind down the ongoing federal prosecutions against President-elect Donald Trump, according to two people familiar with the talks. At the center of the discussions is the Justice Department's longstanding policy against prosecuting a sitting president and the need to enable a smooth transition to a second term in the White House for Trump, the sources said. Regulations governing the special counsel dictate that the upper echelons of the Justice Department, including possibly Attorney General Merrick Garland, are to be consulted on major decisions in an investigation overseen by a special counsel. Smith's office declined to comment.Remember, he's a fake Special Prosecutor. He was never approved by the Senate, and his budget was never okayed by Congress. There's a reason to require that: To make sure that a politically-motivated DOJ can't just hire a partisan hired gun to go after its enemies. You need buy-in from the other party. But Merrick Garland wanted a partisan hired gun, so he just appointed him, against the rules, on his own asserted authority. We've seen a lot of that these past eight years. Enough. Jack Smith is lucky if Trump doesn't use the DOJ to force him to disgorge all the illegal payments he's collected over the past three years. Other stuff:

From the Gateway Pundit...
New York Attorney General Letitia James on Wednesday vowed to continue to go after President Trump after he won the presidential election in a landslide. Letitia James was completely unhinged during her press conference. “So here we are. We’ve studied their platforms. We’ve identified certain possibilities, fact patterns. We’ve created contingency plans,” she said. “So no matter what the next administration throws at us, we are ready. We are ready to respond to their attacks.” After targeting Trump with a bogus civil fraud case, Letitia James accused Trump of being the one seeking revenge. “We did not expect this result, but we are prepared to respond to this result. We are prepared to fight back once again,” Letitia James said. “This is not the time to be fearful, New York. But faithful. And steadfast. Knowing that I as the attorney general, along with my entire team, we are guardians of the law. And we are prepared, my friends, to fight back,” she said. Dear Joe, you have unchecked power. Now is the time to use it. According to the U.S. Supreme Court, the president has immunity for actions taken in furtherance of his duties. Today, Biden needs to start thinking about using that power in ways that could save us from disaster.
Not gonna rec because of the implications. But I privately agree. Joe’s not gonna do shit because “norms”. America overwhelmingly wants Trump, Trumpism and MAGA. Trump has a mandate. It’s time to accept a new normal in America and survive. It’s not going to be fun. The time for Joe to have shown some backbone has long passed. He won’t do anything because of “reasons.” What he doesn’t understand is that his inaction has cemented his place in history. A year or so from now, when he has deported millions, tanked the economy, destroyed affordable health care and condemned millions of seniors to work til they drop dead, they may come to their senses, but nothing is going to happen til they at least get a taste of his “great America”. Has Trump won the popular vote? Once all the west coast votes are counted the answer will be no. America does not want Trumpism. If I were Trump, I'd do one thing - outline their illegal activities and strategies of the cases including any illegal coordination with the White House - go through every file), then pardon both of them. Have congress pass a law making it clearly criminal to appoint a special prosecutor without congressional approval. Oh, and revoke their security clearances, and make sure everyone in the government knows that dealing with either of these bozos going forward is punishable by immediate termination. Same strategy with the 51 intelligence operatives - declare they violated the trust of the American people and revoke all their security privileges. They should be ostracized because they have deliberately and with malice destroyed the American people for their politics. They have lied, cheated and conspired against the very people they should have been truthfully informing. I don’t care if Jeff Bezos lights the WaPo on fire, burns it down and rebuilds it. From Slay News. Demi Moore has the sadzzzz
Hollywood celebrity Demi Moore melted down over the US election result, declaring that Trump voters are “Puritans, religious fanatics, and criminals.” Speaking to an audience in Paris at the French premiere of her new horror movie The Substance, Moore hit out at conservative voters who backed President Trump in record-breaking numbers. The Golden Globe nominee claimed that Trump draws his support from the criminal underworld and the religious right who, according to Moore, are terrified of the “body.” She then drew comparisons between her new film The Substance and what she sees as a growing puritanical streak in American culture. “Sexuality is always taboo. And there’s a lot of fear in America around the body,” Demi claimed. “That’s something I’ve never understood or related to. “I’ve certainly stirred the pot in a few of the films I’ve chosen, which is partly because [I’ve never understood that fear] of the body. It never made sense why we can celebrate the body in art, but fear it in cinema.” Hey, Trump said pussy! Posted by: Stateless at November 06, 2024 05:48 PM (jvJvP) 154

As I said earlier this morning, they have shifted from "beat Trump" to "remove Trump's popular vote win" Think they cannot do it? Look back over the last six electoral cycles and how many times a Republican won only to be "beaten" with later "counts." Posted by: Christopher R Taylor at November 06, 2024 05:44 PM (Hh1ER) I doubt it. They will just never complete the count so we have no exact number and they can always wishcast that the Pop Vote could be overcome. They always do the reverse, stop counting military votes and such if they don't need them. Posted by: Oldcat at November 06, 2024 05:51 PM (n7h9X) 176

Hopefully I'll be dead by then but, if not, I'd laugh my ass off if, during the first election after they reached the 270 threshold, the Democrats lost because none of their voters showed up since their votes no longer mattered. Posted by: I used to have a different nic I am confident the SCOTUS will shoot it down. It is in direct conflict with the constitution. Worse, if enacted, states could just pass laws saying that if any candidate gets a majority, then all popular votes are now attributed to that candidate (at worst that would require some ballot wording to that effect.) It would not only be unequal, but it would be chaos. The whole idea is insane. My suggestion is that Republican States start pushing a "Double Majority" plan like in EU, where any legislation requires a majority of public *and* a majority of states. Not just Colorado - almost every state Kamala won has signed that compact. The only outliers are Virginia (13 electoral votes), which is considering it, and New Hampshire (4 electoral votes). 392 Dave in Fla, any idea where you find the totals from voters that are abroad?
Posted by: Ben Had ======== Not to butt in but UOCAVA ballots are for military and in an emergency can be used to vote for civilians abroad if they have not received their regular absentee ballot. Otherwise civilians request absentee ballots from their state using a fedgov post card just like anyone else. To the best of my knowledge wading around with them for a voting project I did several years ago, election supervisors do not distinguish those in reports. You might be able to file an open records (aka FOIA or other different names depending on the state) to get a tally of those. They probably do not have those for regular absentee and may not for UOCAVA ballots either. The voter history files might or might not have that flagged at county level reports sent to the state SoS. I would start with your local county election supervisor and work your way up the chain to the SoS office. US military ballots themselves may trigger some kind of reports at the federal level as far as ballot sent out but may not be linked to state level voter history files as to whether it was returned or not. Combining this thread with the sidebar Bill Whittle-
I totally understand where Whittle's coming from as a child from the Age of American optimism, exploration, and innovation. The Democrats and various marxists/progressives robbed that bright future from us for the eating bugs and the shabby vengeful world of socialism. and I feel so relieved after the Trump victory. Finally, finally after 50-60 years we stand a chance to rebuild that Age of America and seize the future that was our birthright. However, unlike Whittle I don't think we can start joining hands and tripping through fields of daisies. There are some very evil and malicious people who need to be handled with American justice and punished. Without a reckoning the Democrats/progtards/commies will continue on their criminal and treasonous paths. We don't need to wheel out Madame Guillotine and engage in wholesale revenge, but we need to punish those responsible and need to defund the left from any and as much public/government funding as possible and it needs to be done quickly even as we move forward towards bright future America. Posted by: Romeo13 at November 06, 2024 06:33 PM (QAkQ3) voter rolls get purged of dead voters from time to time. Even in CA there was a 1 million or so purge in LA county of obvious ineligible names on the rolls. Posted by: Oldcat at November 06, 2024 06:37 PM (n7h9X) 490
370 Back from work. Did anyone bother to listen to, or watch Kamala Harris' concession speech?
Posted by: Grumpy and Recalcitrant at November 06, 2024 06:16 PM (O7YUW) I saw a fair amount of it. It was a lot of generic happy talk about patriotism and unity, or whatever, which was of course inconsistent with her entire campaign, with a side order of meaningless word salad. Pledged to keep fighting (for something, I guess), blah, blah. You didn't miss anything. Posted by: MrExcitement at November 06, 2024 06:38 PM (hOOi9) 491
416 Supreme Court overturned Chevron.
Suggestion: issue exec orders voiding every last regulation decreed without specific legislation. Buh bye CAFE. That'll keep congress plenty busy. You want to be Legislators, with all the privileges? Fine. Now do some actual work. They won't have time to undercut PDT. Posted by: 2009Refugee ======== Easy Peasy. Throw in immediate termination for cause (violation of rights under color of law) of any civil servants that violate the order. Any who protest termination will either win (reg isn't under Chevon) and get backpay, or be criminally charged. That will slow down the fed gov. 444 I look for Voter ID and added security to be a focus going forward if they manage to steal a few Senate seats this time.
Posted by: Oldcat at November 06, 2024 06:20 PM (n7h9X) If you have to have Real ID to fly, you should need it to vote. /Mic drop Posted by: Romeo13 at November 06, 2024 06:26 PM (QAkQ3) Oldcat, you meant steal a few senate seas AGAIN this this time, right? And Romeo13, are we including furriners to have Real ID to fly into American territory? Posted by: Eromero at November 06, 2024 06:40 PM (LHPAg) 493
Hollywood celebrity Demi Moore melted down over the US election result, declaring that Trump voters are “Puritans, religious fanatics, and criminals.”

We stopped at the KFC in McKinney TX today after shopping and the guy manning the counter was literally crying over the election results. He was blubbering that Trump was going to put his sister in a camp and kill her. I didn't say a word because I didn't want him to spit on my chicken.
Posted by: Mister Scott (Formerly GWS) at November 06, 2024 06:22 PM (QNSds) You're a better man than I am. I would have called him a freaking idiot, and made damn sure he'd be working under a bridge selling pretzels. That's a workplace for God sake, not a preschool. And I'd find some other place to eat. Screw that. I have no patience for that childish, retarded behavior. *rant over** Posted by: thatcrazyjerseyguy at November 06, 2024 07:11 PM (iODuv) 496
Just a thought: If FL Judge Cannon is correct that Smith was unlawfully appointed, then he has no legal status? So, if he issues a report, he may not enjoy governmental immunity - and be vulnerable to a defamation suit?
