Early Exit Polls Released

I listened to the Ruthless podcast. It made me a little nervous. Big picture: Trump had a choice to make in 2024: Do I spend half a billion dollars to try to appeal to the Suburban Wine Moms who hate me, or do I gamble that there's an untapped voting block of disaffected young male low-propensity voters I can turn out instead of chasing the cat ladies?

He chose the latter. The Ruthless guys didn't say this, but if Trump wanted to make a play for the Wine Moms, he'd have chosen Nikki Haley as his running mate. Awful. Instead he doubled down on the male vote and went with JD Vance.

The trouble is, this is a gamble. Those young male voters are rarely targeted because they don't turn out. They think they're above party politics, and, I guess, don't mind too much being perpetually targeted by the left as monsters who must be Corrected and Minded by old white women.

Will they turn out? I dunno. The early vote so far is mostly female, though the female vote is down from 2020.

Though the Ruthless guys also pointed out is not a good measure of success. 2020 was a very odd year in which many, many people voted early. Liberals especially, as they were all wearing eighteen masks and refusing to leave their homes. So the fact that the Democrat early vote is down from 2020 doesn't prove all that much. 2020 was a very strange year we shouldn't take as a baseline.

Now the exit polls are hot garbage and always have been. It's important to remember the exit polls always favor the left, and by a large percentage, too. People just do not want to admit to the media they voted for Trump -- or George Bush.

CNN reported earlier that Trump voters were running from their own attempts to interview them.

So whatever the exit polls say, remember, the reality is probably 7-10% better.

These exits, about the current state of the country, do not look good for Kamala.

Then again, she's bizarrely claiming to be the "change" candidate who will "Turn the page" on her own record. And also: Many Cat Ladies are angry about abortion and want to "turn the page" from Dobbs.

Seems bad for Harris, though.

I saw someone reporting that the early "prelim exit polls." He claimed that those who consented to be interviewed by the hard-left Robspierre Media were 53% female, compared with 52% in 2020. That's not so great, but it's not terrible, either. Men prefer Trump a little more than women prefer Harris. It can make up that 1% deficit.

The early vote is 71% white, as compared to 67% in 2020. The black vote is down to 12% from 13%, and the Hispanic vote is down by a point as well. I forget the exact figures on that, but it's something like 13% down from 14%.

I know that doesn't add up all the way but what are you going to do, there's rounding involved.

Update:
NBC's exits showed that 36% of those willing to talk to the media said Muh Democracy was their top issue, with abortion at 14%. Put those together and it's 50%.

But... remember these exits skew liberal, AND those are NATIONAL exit poll results. What we really care about are the results in the battlegrounds.

As they say, "I’m cautiously optimistic ". My son is 24. He and his friends are gun owners (he owned a one long before I did). My daughter's boyfriend is 22. He and his roommates are also gun owners. All of them have voted. I hope it's a trend.

Doesn't work like that in most states. Covid was a one off opportunity for the big cheat due to mail in ballots deluge. That has been cut off and primarily why Dem turnout is down.

Dems had big EV and absentee ballot submissions AND still had to result to the ridiculous stopping in all states and inserting ballots directly without the paperwork to prove they existed. That is why Fulton is fighting so hard to keep 2020 under wraps--there are no ballot images of thousands of votes as if they never existed.

If they try it this time, it will be so obvious that even a majority of Dems will see it because it will not be tied to any existing absentee ballots--those numbers have already been reported.

I know some Christian people who think the same way. They believe that focus should be on God and not Men and think God will ultimately save them. That's true and false at the same time. Sure, on an existential plane, their belief provides Salvation, but their lives will be relative Hell if they don't fight in the realm of Man to protect their Earthly origins.

But the Amish voting, for example, (as I've read) is significantly increased which gives me hope that the populations of more religious people have been awakened to immediate threats by their government.

I'm hoping that translates to many other demographics who have usually sat things out.

Not really, you are assuming polling has somehow fixed its issues with polling Trump voters which is now 8 long years and they haven't solved it.

Part of it is that red voters living in blue states tend to be pessimistic and over time that resorts into simply dropping out. What you see around you is not the US and you should not assume that every place is like your home state. NoVA has a very high percentage of government workers and contractors (which is going to crash in the near future due to debt driven cutbacks btw) and educated service industry voters like tech that vote blue. Outside urban areas, VA is ruby red but swamped by the newcomers.

That set of circumstances is not present in every swing state nor is the cheat by mail system used on the West Coast, Colorado, and AZ. So take heart, media cannot help gloating if the exit polling and results were good.

That’s not what I’m hearing. I’m actually hearing that in some critical swing states they are not getting the numbers they thought Election Day would bring. It could be the early vote cannabilized the Election Day vote more than people thought. That means the early vote margins people were crowing about should be viewed in context of the total vote and compared that way against past performance. It’s math, not feelz. This is how Republicans always get into trouble. They build expectations without fully thinking through total vote model. This is far from over. In fact, a lot of Dems are starting to feel better about their chances and saying goodbye to MAGA. Either way we won’t know shit until at least midnight if not later.

I tend to ignore the exit polls and other "feelz" indicators, and care about hard numbers.

We have very good hard numbers today, but we only got them from 3 states because they are the only ones that report during election day.

It would be surprising if other states weren't voting similar to what is going on in Florida (not by the same 1.2 million vote margin, but similar enthusiasm by Republicans and lack of caring by Democrats)

We will know soon.

Kamala never had an agenda and her campaigning was all negative. It was and is a fear, uncertainty, and doubt. Even now, trolls are crawling over with fake man on the street crap, etc. here like flies on shit.

That sort of campaign works okay when the challenger is new but not when the guy was the previous president with a track record of a good economy and peace.

What is important is the swing states and the EV/absentee plus election day turnout in key states like Pa and Ga. Arizona is a funky state but the EV absentee is probably insurmountable for Kamala there this time and NV may fall as well.

Virginia is still Virginia. Most of the state is for Trump and the swamp is still in Virginia, and they are not going to vote against themselves. The key is close Republicans come to winning if they come close enough then we’re gonna win the blue wall.

North Carolina and particularly Georgia concerned me because those states have been warped over the last 10 years. That It is even possible to lose Georgia should scare the crap out of us, but also show how much that state is changed for the worse. They are because they are likely to report results faster than Pa and their polls close soon in NC and are now closed in GA. IF they are called for Trump early, then it will probably reflect a wave election this time. Each swing state that falls narrows the path for Kamala to win.

It will be later for Pa, Mi, and Wi and much later for NV and AZ (possibly--GOP has a very large EV/Absentee cushion there).

If that is not legal in some states, then leave a single vote uncounted and tell the SOS that you are still counting.

Post 2020 election and off year to boot (2021), lowers the turnout. Youngkin had the money to run and the GOP in general was well funded. Came up short in regaining the legislature.

It helped that McAuliffe was a vile sleazy retread gov politician that was not that popular in his first term and the tranny blowup in Loudoun County and the coverup of rape, etc. by its schoolboard created a strong non partisan push to stop that shit.

Ran no candidates for Family Court. All the other Courts showed the same candidates on all lines ... and these are incumbents D's.

I've been canvased by multiple Dem operatives over the last month, and not one GOP call / text / mailer.
