Moar Tea Leaves

Is this a tea leaf? Israel's Minister of Defense has pushed the Biden line on Netanyahu, telling him he couldn't "escalate" the war with Iran.

The day of the American election, Netanyahu fires his ass and replaces him with a stronger man.

Almost as if he doesn't have to appease the Obama-Biden-Harris Iran Chorus any longer.

Ron M.
@Jewtastic

Long time coming..

Israel's Defense Minister Yoav Gallant has been removed, Israel's Foreign Minister Israel Katz will take the position.

Gallant has been on the outs with the Prime Minister and the entire Likud Party for months, acting like a free agent for Benny Gantz, Biden etc. Gallant accomplished some great operations with the IDF but a Defense Minister needs to have a proper relationship with the Prime Minister in Israel, or else he goes.

Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu fired Defense Minister Yoav Gallant on Tuesday, citing statements that "contradict the decisions of the government and the decisions of the cabinet." Gallant's firing comes after months of deteriorating relations between him and Netanyahu, including Gallant criticizing Netanyahu's management of the Israel-Hamas (and now Hamas and Iran) War in media interviews and in the Knesset.

RedState:

"In the midst of a war, more than ever, full trust is required between the Prime Minister and the Minister of Defense," Netanyahu stated, as he laid out his rationale for Gantz's removal while the country was over a year into a war with Iran and its proxies; chiefly Hamas and Hezbollah.

"Unfortunately, although in the first few months of the campaign, there was such trust and very fruitful work, over the last few months, this trust has cracked between myself and the Defense Minister," Netanyahu said.

...

On the other hand, Gallant's cozy relationship with Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin may explain why Israel has refused to share military plans with the Pentagon.<

Guam flips; Hank Johnson worries about all the people now drowning.

Exit polling suggests GOP has flipped the Guam legislature for the first time in nearly 2 decades.

Supposedly the mood on CNN is grim.

Shem Horne
@Shem_Infinite

CNN is trying to put on a brave face but they know.

I just heard someone say "this thing is not over" and it's not even 2PM yet lol

CNN is reporting that Trump voters don't want to be interviewed. Because they fear the social terrorism of the left, of course.

So one point for the theory that Shy Trump Voters are causing pollsters to miss Trump's true level of support.

Two possible answers jump immediately to mind:
1. Presidential election years are much bigger and see much more turnout than midterm elections.
2. It isn't. The winner will be whoever the Party decides will be the winner, and it could be Trump because it will happen if the Party just lets nature take its course, and there are numerous upsides for the Party if the bet works and they can contain Trump as easily as last time.

Aww. I'd have done it differently, enough though no one likes a smelly guy on the subway car. I'm okay with homeless people who recycle cans for an extra buck.

My grandma drove a late-model Mercedes and she always saved the tons of cans that the grandkids used. (Her place was Grand Central.) When a big garbage bag got full, she'd toss it in her trunk and if she saw a homeless person with a load of cans while she was out, she'd pull over and give hers to them.

It was probably kind of funny at times, because sometimes she'd just pull over for any homeless person who was pushing anything on wheels.

Older affluent woman: "Hey! You!"
Bum: (points to self, looks around befuddled)
OAW: "Yeah! Do you collect cans?"

Republicans are outperforming in red states, swing states and even blue states like yours. Still early but trending good for Team Red.

Lest we forget, Trump isn't the only person on the ballot today. There are Senate and House races across the country. Turnout is key in every state.

I do not see that being repeated this year.

There were doing the pre-requisite to an updated trade agreement with Argentina, but it's currently on hold. You could make the argument that Biden shunned them due to Milei's political views....but I think it was Argentina that put it on hold to see if Trump got in...

Such a move would be gold since Argentina' primary trading partner right now is Brazil (which has been feuding with Musk and run by an idiot)...and China. So a new trade agreement sticks it to China and maybe influences a change in regime to Brazil if the Brazilians end up sitting there watching Argentina prosper while losing market share to the US. That's how Trump operates on foreign policy, and why the Pentagon hates him.

Pollsters are dumb. They use the last similar election (2018 midterms) and most recent election (2020) to try and model the expected turnout. Trump brings in a shitton of low-propensity voters, skewing results to the right.

The 2020 results showed a LOT of Republican voters (about 18% more than 2016), so pollsters expected a lot more Republicans...but it was just a regular, slight advantage Republican midterm.

🚨CNN'S CHRIS WALLACE: KAMALA WIN A "MIRACLE" IF POSSIBLE

Early CNN exit polls reveal a grim mood in the U.S., with 72% of voters feeling dissatisfied or angry about the country's direction.
Only 7% are enthusiastic, and Biden’s approval rating sits at 41%, with 58% disapproving.
Chris Wallace remarked it would take a "miracle" for Kamala to win given these challenging numbers, noting that if she does, it would signal her ability to position herself as "part of the solution, not part of the problem."

She collects cans to buy food for her kitties (no, not a crazy cat lady) and to supplement her limited income. She often stops by here to give me the most delicious baked goods on the planet, which she makes from scratch. So, I save cans for her, and when I buy pet food from Chewy, I always order an extra bag to leave on her porch.

I might note at this point that the lady, who is really on the edge of not quite getting by, has a brother a couple years younger who lives nearby. He is quite wealthy and enjoys collecting classic cars and traveling all over the world, while his sister has to collect cans to buy cat food.

Eh, same ole same ole. Probably a bit less accurate because exit polling has still not solved the fact that they use female grad students to do it.

That was a documented reason for why the exit polls predicted a Kerry win over Bush in 2004.

Interviewers go to people that will talk to them and conservatives of all stripes and a lot of independents don't like questions aimed at how they voted. Men in particular.

The first thing that always jumps out at me is that despite being civil servants and representatives of the citizens, these guys and gals are sitting on a raised dais so as to project their importance.

566 Two things need repeated:
1) where are our trolls?
2) The GOP has been lights out on GOTV this year. I've gotten multiple texts and calls compared to nearly none in years past.
(And that's with tanking my "reliable voter" rating by not voting in 2022)

567 Re Brian Williams + Amazon, yeah, saw that puke on their commercial and shook my head. Really, Amazon? You're trotting out that fucking lying scumbag retread for election night coverage? Good lord, these people are retarded.

568 LizLem: "But keep in Simon Ateba, he's great."

Agreed. I'd place him in the "Helen Thomas" seat. Not because they're in any way comparable integrity-wise, but because the Biden WH went out of their way to ignore and humiliate the man and his beat. So, give him the first question for the first couple of years. First, it would expose the malice of the Left for this man. Second, it would make up for the extended slight from Biden/Harris WH. And third, (politically) it would show Trump embracing a Black man - an actual African - and recognizing his ignored constituency. Win, win, win.

569 "Nah, I think it's actually fear of their vehicles being trashed, their houses vandalized, and facing organized campaigns to get them fired from their jobs.

Plus having their tax returns and other confidential records all being leaked, of course."

yeah, we need an equivalent to the 1/6 "Insurrection persecution", but for all those that participated in the vote fraud, and intimidations. All those "shenanigans" were actually felonies, or whatever the appropriate criminal charge is.

They were not "protesters", they were part of a decades long criminal action. Long sentences for all of them is the only way to "Save the Republic".

570 >>> I haven't decided about dinner tonight - seared democrat with a side of vindication would be nice....

Hah, yes! With a side of revenge soup served cold. Since Morons have informed me that soup is not a meal.

574 In a few hours we're going to feel pretty stupid for being worried about whether The Luckiest Guy Who Ever Lived would lose to the only person in the World who possibly could have been a worse candidate than dementia-ridden basement-dweller Biden.

Stand by to be amazed, and eventually maybe we'll even learn why the hell 2020 was allowed to happen.

By the end of it, maybe Biden will no longer even be in the record books as #46.

575 Rocky Horror Picture Show. It's an audience line when the body I'd revealed.

Think I'll drop that in the DVD player tonight and watch that instead of the election stuff. Crank up the stereo system and enjoy. It used to be a blast watching it in a theater back in the 80's with an audience having fun.

578 Someone mentioned in last thread that their wife surprised him by saying she'd never vote for a woman. She doesn't trust women in power[i/]

It's tricky. They have to be old enough to have outgrown PMS, but young enough to have not gotten bitter.

I would never rule out voting for a female president, but they need to prove to me that they will govern logically,
