Gen Z Likes Trump More After McDonald's Shift
Update: Democrats Begin Going After McDonald's

McLovin approves.

Donald Trump's McDonald's Shift Went Down Best With Gen Z

Donald Trump's shift at a Pennsylvania McDonald's was most popular with Gen Z, a new poll shows.

...

A total of 39 percent of Gen Z (people born between 1997 and 2012) said Trump's stunt made them like him somewhat or much more.

This is significantly more than the 23 percent of Gen Z who said the shift made them like Trump less, while 38 percent said it did not impact how much they like Trump.

The 39 percent who said they liked the 78-year-old Republican presidential candidate more after his stint comprises 21 percent who said they liked him much more and 18 percent who said they liked him somewhat more.

Brian Stelter, who is a potato, is still seething that Trump oil-fried and salted members of his extended family.

Update: America is a gulag run by gangster socialists.

Posted on October 22, 2024 by John Hinderaker in Biden Administration, Inflation
Nice Restaurant Chain You've Got Here

Too bad if something were to happen to it.

You can tell how badly Trump's McDonald's coup worried Democrats by the fact that they immediately threatened the fast food chain. Senators Ron Wyden, Bob Case, and Elizabeth Warren sent this letter to McDonald's CEO Chris Kempczinski.

I won't go through it line by line, but here are some observations. The left-wing senators write:

We write with concern regarding increases in fast food prices over the last several years and seeking information regarding McDonald's pricing decisions.

Scott Johnson patiently explains that price increases are rampant throughout the Biden-Harris economy, due to Biden flooding the country with greatly devalued dollars. Kamala Harris provided the key tie-braking vote to pass this economy-wrecking scheme.

But Democrats know that. This is about using government power -- backed by the resort of actual government violence -- to crush their opposition.

========

It probably all boils down to Trump actually being interested in people. He showed up, listened to the kid telling him how to do it, and followed his example on a simple task that requires the smallest amount of training to get right. He didn't assume he knew how to do it, he learned.

And it's all on video in a setting that a large portion of America recognizes, a fast food kitchen.

Of course, this isn't the first time he's done that (video of him walking hotel guest dogs from nearly 20 years ago have floated online recently), but it's the sort of uncomplicated thing that most politicians just don't have any idea how to do.

All I can think of is Will Smith at the end of Men in Black when Edgar reverts to giant Bug form, and cockroaches and whatever are all over the place, and he's stomping them saying things like, "Oh, my bad-- was that your Auntie?"

Like, if that was a GIF or meme, there'd be identifying text of "Brian Stelter" and "French fries" and "potato wedges" and the like.

There was a section of wall that Biden did build. It was a small gap that they seem to have filled for political reasons and I think I heard him make the claim a couple times that he helped "finish" "part" of the wall.

Here's the thing -- they did not use the steel tubes Trump had selected. They used a triple chain link design (because cutting 3 layers with a bolt cutter takes 3 times as long.) It appears they did this just out of spite to not use any of Trump's wall. The wall they built is complete crap and useless since it is so easy to cut chain link. That is how petty they are.

45-65ish: Boomers
65-80ish: GenX
80-95ish: GenY aka Millennial

Fried okra is actually pretty darn good with a cornbread breading. If deep frying, have to use clean oil and do it right. Air frying is easier and the Pictsweet brand of breaded okra is pretty good for that. Done right, it is better than tater tots.

I agree with you on boiled okra though. Nasty.

251 Vance podcast interview with Theo Von yesterday. Salient points Vance made:

1) Polls aren't very accurate because they under sample people who won't respond to polls. Twenty years ago, Vance says, 1 in 10 answered pollsters' questions. Today it's 1 in 30.

2) A newspaper poll typically costs $10000-$20000. To get an accurate poll, such as a campaign internal, costs appx $70000, per Vance.

3) Vance says betting markets have more predictive value than public opinion polls. Vance says that the polls yesterday, which showed Trump with a 20% or so better chance of winning than Harris, are "about right."

Five Guys and Wendy's are also pretty good. Sonic is good if you want to go fully mediocre fast food.

Sonic's headquarters are in Oklahoma. I do not know the politics of the owners but I could guess.

Not locally owned. Sold to a big multinational long ago. Stereotyping is wrong anyway.

Wendy's is subject to a CIW boycott. They refuse to sign on to an agreement for fair wages/conditions for the farmworkers to ultimately source them. BK, McD, Walmart and others have signed on.

That McDonald's was owned by a franchisee. It's not really the company's fault and there are probably plenty of other franchisees who would never have him in the door.

Who cares? The public impression will still be Corporate approved of it because of the big yellow M outside. Overpriced and now bacteria ridden. That's the impression people get, franchise owner or not.

333 The McDonald's thing was great, like the Jimmy Fallon hair gag. Everyone is told Trump is a blowhard and an elitist, and while he may act like an egomaniac, he still is willing to goof on himself.

I thought about it the other day, Trump is someone who pumps his own ego and always says he's the greatest, because he probably does have that doubt and compares himself to what his dad did. There's ego, but there's still that question, which makes him relatable and human.

On the other hand you have Obama, Hillary and Kamala, who actually believe they are the greatest and the second coming.

It's why Trump, despite being a billionaire, seems like a guy who could be fun to just sit and talk to, like we saw in the interviews with Andrew Schulz and Theo. But the Dems are so high on their own farts, and would spit on anyone who they don't see as elite as them.

Posted by: NaughtyPine
--------
The deficits the US ran from 2000 to today along with the borrowing necessary to fight wars and do benefits have basically destroyed a lot of wealth primarily for the benefit of Social Security and Medicare recipients. Inflation from that has raised prices of homes relative to flat incomes to an unaffordable level compared with twenty years ago. Bringing in hordes of immigrants and sending a lot of good paying jobs abroad (or bring in H1Bs) has destroyed a lot of ability for younger generations to get a job and raises.

I am not big on generational warfare but the older generations voting the way that they did for several generations have shifted poverty from the elderly to the young since the Great Society got started in the 60's. Even my Gen X generation was n't able (due in part to millions of its cohort being aborted) to right the ship of state.

391 Onion rings are awesome. Frying is stinky and makes a mess. I think maybe a Coleman stove and cast iron in the garage or someplace out of living quarters would maybe allow one to make the sale.

It’s fun to make your own batter or spices to drench flour with. Baking powder, baking soda, paprika, garlic powder, Cayenne pepper, nutmeg, brown sugar, the list is endless. Lots of fun to customize. Maybe some panko type bread crumbs, or crushed Ritz, or cornflakes.

I guarantee many ingredients became staples simply because some poor SOB didn’t have the right stuff and decided to try it. “That’s what we got, so that’s what we’re having”.

Harris’ old summer job? They’re lovin’ it.
By MYAH WARD, ELI STOKOLS, LAUREN EGAN and BEN JOHANSEN 08/14/2024 05:24 PM EDT

When campaign aides in Wilmington presented an early cut of a new KAMALA HARRIS bio ad to the vice president’s team, staffers quickly spotted a minor error about her short stint working at the country’s most popular fast food chain.

The ad’s narration asserted that Harris worked at McDonald’s to “pay her way” through college. But that wasn’t quite right: She really took the summer job just to earn a bit more spending money.

The ad was quickly re-cut, just another wrinkle to iron out amid a fast-moving presidential campaign that has reconstituted itself around a new nominee. But the mix-up aside, aides agreed about what they saw as a small but important piece of Harris’ backstory: They wanted voters to know she worked at McDonald’s.

Harris worked at a McDonald’s in California in the summer between her freshman and sophomore years at Howard University, according to her campaign. ...

The vice president mentioned it in several speeches last week...

437 Onion rings are awesome.

471 Trump's shtick - look he genuinely likes McDonalds. He's served it to guests at the White House. So, him serving fries...it's just a perfect Chef's kiss.

That's just it, Trump, for all his faults, seems genuine. He says what the fuck he wants, and you have no doubt where he actually stands. If Trump appears to be enjoying himself, it's because he's enjoying himself. If he's angry, he's actually angry. He seems like a real person, which is shocking.

I don't think Kamala has had an honest opinion or thought in her life. Her laughs are fake. Her answers are non-answers. She just seems like she's stalling for time. "Vote for me and I'll make things...better...somehow..."

They want to think of themselves as the elite while providing no service anyone wants. People line up in their cars at the drive thru so the young people there can give them some decent food with a friendly greeting and off you go. Nobody wants what the carping class sells.

503 Are Gen Z people the ones bringing their parents to job interviews?
That "stat" was misleading; the question made to the sample of employers was "have you had a prospective Gen-Z employee bring a parent to the interview," to which some sizeable number (X%) responded yes. But that does not mean that X% of Gen-Z interviewees brought a parent, just that X% of employers had at least one Gen-Z interviewee bring a parent.
