I've seen that movie so many times but I always enjoyed it. A time when we had Hollywood actors who outwardly were great people. Not everyone was a star for playing in some bit movie, only top billers got to be called that.
Eva Marie-Saint was hot but too young for Grant. The movie also had another favorite of mine, James Mason.

In my wife's case, her reviews are chock full of all of the druggies that have come to her complaining about pain and her refusing to write narcotics scripts for them. Which is ripe because she's a sports med doc and doesn't write scripts for opioids for *anyone*.

Here in seacoast NH, the number of yard signs is down from 2020. There was a noticeable uptick in Harris/Wallz signs, but in the last 2-3 weeks more and more Trump/Vance signs are appearing. NH has a close race for governor as well - Kelly Ayotte vs. Joyce Craig. Congressional seats will remain blue, sadly.

Deep blue New England here and out of the 20 houses here in my neighborhood, half of them have Kamala signs up. No Trump signs despite the fact that I know that 5 of us are supporting Trump (one of them less than enthusiastically)
I've only seen two Trump signs in my community.
Also, the Kamala signs are objectively annoying as piss. "We're not going back", "Vote for Kamala - Of Course".
The faux intellectual and moral superiority of these people makes me want to plow over their shrubbery with my brush guard. But I'm better people than they.

It's relatively cool here, about 65 F., going up to a humid 77 (so the weather mavens say). Since I did not work out earlier, at lunchtime today I plan to walk the circuit of the park across from my office; I'm wearing jeans and have brought my running shoes and socks to change into. A brisk walk for 1.7 miles (I think that's the distance) should be quite nice. Then I'll have lunch at my desk -- and before I know it quitting time will be here!
(This gives you some idea of what I think of my job, and how much I *loves* it.)

I don’t know who this accurate 2020 pollster is, but those results make zero sense. Trump winning PA and MI but not NC and AZ?? If Trump wins PA he wins the election plain and simple… and all indications in that state show a huge groundswell for him.
No one thinks it’ll be a blowout. Reagan 84 and Nixon 72 type landslides aren’t possible in the country now with the divided retarded electorate we have… but I suspect Trump will get around 310 EVs and may come close or even eke out a popular vote win (which is meaningless legally but will shut up a lot of lefties so I hope it happens).

The polls ALWAYS say "it'll be REAL close". That's because they have no f-ing clue, and are just taking a guess down the middle. It also supports the narrative for results like 2020, where Biden magically had a razor-thin majority in several "swing states", after a week of manufacturing the necessary number of ballots behind closed doors. The 2020 polls weren't accurate, if they said it was "close".
AZ isn't a genuine "swing state" - it's solid red. NC, VA and even PA might be the same.
It's all about how they're going to undermine the election fraud. It was undermined in 2016 (which also had BS polls), and it's pretty obvious that it will also be undermined in 2024.
The only question is what kinds of shenanigans we'll see as they try to steal it again. It won't be allowed this time.

I don't know why anybody pays attention to Nate Silver, after how far off he was in 2016. But with that being said, he's clearly biased towards the Dems, so if even HE says 100% Trump, the writing is on the wall. Unless they're just trying to make MAGA complacent (good luck with that).

But PA and WI have voted the same way in the eight elections since 1992. And in five of those eight, the GOP vote % has been within a point in the two states. I'd be pretty surprised if they don't vote the same way again, although of course it's possible. And if Trump does win PA, MI, and GA while losing AZ, WI, NC, and NV, and wins ME-2 while losing NE-1, that is an EC tie, I believe. (Someone can correct me if that is wrong.)
And Atlas Intel's polling may have been the most accurate nationally, but some of their state polls were off in 2020, e.g., they had Trump trailing in Florida.

I live in a blue area. In the working/middle class areas there are way more Trump signs then Harris ones. Its only once you go into the wealthier towns/areas that you see many Harris signs.
It was not like this in 2020.

The standout was sparked by a "Trump 2024" sign that was projected on the town's water tower at night.
When Hanson officials heard about the political ad projected on the municipal water tower, it started fining the anonymous neighbor, now known as Mr. X, $100 a day.
"We just wanted to show our support for Mr. X and his light projection," a supporter said.
The town now uses flood lights to wash out the Trump 2024 projection, adding “the town is going to continue its efforts in trying to dim the image with spotlights and fining the resident each day that the image continues to be projected onto town property.”

3% odds are terrible
I think we get the votes & he gets an insurrection that will be unimaginable & steals the office. I do not trust this fascist majority supreme court to do the right thing and stop this.
I'm somewhat confident of a Harris victory, especially with Trump having a very bad last few days.
I don't like seeing national polling under a 2% lead, but I see small but significant leads in the Blue Wall. I'd say I'm cautiously optimistic.
Harris has worked way harder the last two weeks, and polling is not indicating that her work is helping.
I am PRAYING to be pleasantly surprised this time. Please any benevolent god(s) who may exist, and be listening to an anvowed agnostic like me, please let/help Harris win.
I have to admit I'm way more confident than i was when Biden was the candidate, & I say that as someone who defended him in the race to the end.
There's more energy in the Harris campaign like Obama's campaign!

The paper labels Trump’s…claims about Harris’s alleged McDonald’s gig the new birtherism. “Lacking a shred of proof, he has charged that she never actually worked under the golden arches — recalling his earlier false claim that President Barack Obama was not born in the United States. Mr. Trump’s latest allegation also appears to be false,” reporters Heather Knight and Nicholas Nehamas write.
Left out of the Times story is the fact that the Harris campaign’s claims about Harris’s job have shifted—first, they said she worked at McDonald’s to put herself through school. Then, aides were forced to concede she worked there for a summer “to earn a bit more spending money.” The piece makes no mention of the fact that, as the Free Beacon reported, one of Harris’s biographers was unaware of the job.

Speaking of Google and PA, looked up the house on Google maps because I recalled seeing the filming vehicle drive by July 2024. I knew there'd be a picture from three months ago and then also *Nov. 2020, Oct 2018, and Sept 2007.
What I found was yet another new picture, Oct. 2024, showing the 4 PDT v. Harris signs on the front lawn - NOT a July 2024 picture - in addition to the Nov. 2020 pic - that had also been flipped to show the PDT signs after* the last presidential election - and the 2018 & 2007 pics w/o any political signage.
Overnight, wrote Google and asked, "Why did Google go back and take more pictures of the outside of my home after I put Trump signs up? Was it contracted by my Pennsylvania county?"
Early this AM, the most recent pic was from July 2024, as are the closest neighbors, but for: When I 1st call up MY address, Google flips to a different address (just three #s off) but showing my house, my lawn with the Oct. 2024 PDT signs until my actual address reappears with the July 2024 picture.
FYI: The state’s highest Court adopted a new Congressional redistricting map in time for the 2018 elections.

Why does it matter? Ethics. Me & others of my ilk are problems in this county with political signage & should it affect, perhaps, even the sale of our homes in the future?
