All I knew at an early age was learned from 'The Lone Ranger' so that later in life when I had an Injun girlfriend, a summer romance that went on for years. Anyway, because 'Tonto' was short I assumed all Injuns were. My girlfriends parents were quite tall, while she was average in height.
I didn't discern any shame from her or her parents. I felt nothing but normal about her. But her love of firewater eventually turned me off.

These betting markets aren't huge. Reportedly, a few million dollars. It's not the stock market.
So, 10,000 people betting an average of $200 each, and you've got millions of dollars on the line.
1. That's incredibly easy to manipulate, but lets just assume it doesn't happen because no one would ever try to manipulate betting odds. It just isn't done.
2. There's heavy self-selection going on.
3. If these are small dollars without big dollars manipulating things, what information do they have that they're operating on?

The realistic result of the election is that one will get more than 45 and the other less than 55.
It's probably closer to 47 and 53. Maybe even more narrow.
If I threw darts at a board with the integers from 47-53, one dart for each candidate, and said I polled and got that result. I'd be within the margin of error of any pollster and be considered one of the most accurate pollsters in America.

I put traffic cones in my driveway in order to get my daughter comfortable with parallel parking. First 30 feet apart, then 25 feet, then 20 feet. In about an 18 foot long S-10.
When she went off to live in a college town parallel parking was the only option. She excelled at it. It does take some practice.

greed - betting sites measure current Hype, which has a relationship to the state of the race but is not the measure of the actual race. A better mathematician could probably explain it's the second derivative of the function, which is interesting but just an indicator. (It shows a big jump at any small change)

I can only think of one physical thing I've had since I was a teenager. And that was a set of Craftsman's tools I purchased when I was 19. Those tools have been with me since I didn't know shit about fuck to the point where I'm pretty handy on almost anything. What does tools could tell you about growing up and becoming a man has nothing to do with gender or politics. It has everything to do with being willing to take chances, be responsible and see a job through until it is completely done.
The other thing it could tell you about me a man, is how you take care of things that are important to you. I've only lost one socket in all the years I've had that set. And I kid you not, it was the 10 mm. But by taking care of those tools I've been able to take care of myself and the people I love when they needed me the most. Whether it was changing my son's battery in his car when he was stranded at Florida State or repairing my house after one of the hurricanes. But most importantly they've been able to help me maintain what I've worked for my entire life.
