I bring this load of much needed tequila to Virginia and when I arrive at the receiver I need a delivery number for my appointment. Oh. Okay. I don't have one. Let me call the broker and get it. So the broker needs to contact XYZ people blah blah blah. I call back today and someone marked my load as delivered and whoops we stopped doing anything and long story short I need a drink.

73 It's simple, guys. Ukraine has to fight forever and Israel has to surrender immediately. We have to stop the killing by killing the maximum number of people at maximum speed and maximum cost to the American people.

Questioning that truth would be anti-American. And racist.

You know what else is racist? Not buying enough things, or voting for enough people. Keep doing that stuff.

Also: eat recycled food. It's good for the environment, and OK for you.

85 I submit that this is a major tell:

Sen. Bob Casey (D-inc; PA) did NOT show up and share the stage with Harris yesterday at her rally in... PA.

Think about that.

Speaking to Casey's absence, Harris cheerfully told the crowd, "He's out doing what he needs to do to be re-elected!"

This incident really speaks for itself. Better than words, as to the state of play in PA..

How many incumbent DEMs missed a chance to be onstage with Biden*? Or with Obama?

89 Luckily, the HOA here is decently run. My next door neighbors are ancient and dementia ridden. Their kids are working to get them into a care facility but it is hard sledding. Long story short - the HOA had fined them over $5000 due to lack of mowing and non-payment of fees. There are no secrets in this place so we found out about their HOA arrearages.

A few calls to the HOA office and they forgave it all except a few bucks for extra mailings. All is forgiven and they worked with me to switch all the bills over to the kids (out of state).

138 HOAs aren't a force for good, or evil. Just a force for officious little pricks who serve no discernible purpose, but cost a shitload of money.

They're extra government for people who can't get enough of being buttfucked by the government they already pay way too much for. They're the bear that asks you if you really come around for the hunting.

All you have to do is look at neighborhoods with no HOA. Pick one that was built prior to thirty years ago, and where all the lawns look nice. You're done. That place is fine and will continue being fine.

Yes, it has each individual lion and the sword, although as modeled it's just a regular old sword, it doesn't light up.

200 The battle park at Vicksburg is well worth the visit, especially the remains of the river gunboat Cairo.

Once I was there at a firing of one of cannon (there’s a large collection of them there) and although they fire one fairly often, they usually use the 12 pound Napoleons. This time they fired one of the 9 inch siege guns, and that was amazing. We spectators were kept about 100 yards away, and even then I felt like I’d been physically slapped in the face when it went off. In the car park another 100 yards behind us, every car alarm was set off.
Now that was a Big Bang.

I had a girlfriend who worked for a small biotech company that extracted various proteins from chicken eggs, and they kept a barn of battery chickens they bought from the local egg farm to supply the eggs. The hens only are kept a couple of years at the industrial farms before slaughtering, so the owner would get them cheap since they were not interested in volume, just that they would lay.
One of the hens he got would crow. It was very odd.

Somebody around here has a prediction that the PA Gov orders a Repub precinct official arrested for waiting to report results until all Dem districts are in. Gotta say, yeah, that sounds about right.

I am not sure whether Lake is sincere or not, but it was interesting that after hating her the establishment AZ GOP did all they could to make sure she got the nomination over Sheriff Mark Lamb, who is sincere. Everyone is bad, everyone is evil, and you want them ALL to lose. Hard.

That said? I've driven the wife of the Production Set Designer to and from Galveston Island and Houston Airports on several occasions.

The Production Crew is OBSESSED with accuracy to detail in tools, guns, clothes, EVERYTHING seen by the camera. And a damn near unlimited budget to pursue exactly that.

How cool would it be to get that kind of quality put into a Conservative themed film or TV series?

Less than two years prior, I had testified as a USAF cop before Judge Wood, resulting in a pair felony grade civilian weed dealers going to Club Fed, for trying to ply their trade on Lackland AFB, TX.

Most any bodyguard element covers only the immediate, Tueller Drill threat envelope, and maybe a bit more.

You want the 800 yard overwatch, you're either the Pres/Veep, or the candidate who has already been shot once and set up for a shot a second time, before they deign the danger enough to so protect.

Difference being, I think the USSS is compromised, and the Marshalls aren't, though limited in scope of training, staffing, equipment and support.

But don't ever fuck w a Fed Judge within' spittin' distance of a U.S. Marshall. You won't enjoy the experience.

But my larger point was that high production values should not be a "given" to the anti-conservative media.

That said, I have gained a unique insight amongst the Horde, as to just HOW EXPENSIVE the Yellowstone Productions are.

I have witnessed their producing of sequel episodes here on Galveston Island.

The lodging, costuming and catering trucks could solve a great deal of distress down in North Carolina, 'bout now.

342 Evening. I look forward to a hug from Ben in TX. What's interesting is the idea I might get to meet Mr. Humanitarian, COB extraordinaire.
Posted by: Blake - semi lurker at large at October 16, 2024 01:48

Have a blast, I so wish I could be there, maybe next yr. I'm stuck in MH's Cheeseland as Dad needs some attention at 88.

Don't be disappointed when you meet MH, he's a simple COB from America's heartland with some common sense. And when you meet Mrs MH you will realize she may be the one that keeps him grounded.

Hope you all have a rollicking good time.

344 OK, so why are Judges abrogating basic law about Elections? From who can be on the ballot, to who can vote... to who illegals who somehow registered...

They all seem to be in on the idea that THEY get to decide elections, not the American Citizens.

The credentialed have found religion in authoritarianism. DC is their Jerusalem, Rome, and mecca. Government is their god and power is their religion.

346 Charles Harrelson III, assassinated Judge John H. Wood, in San Antonio, TX. Father of actor Woody Harrelson.

.240 Weatherby Magnum, from the back-seat of a taxicab. Not shitting you, check the records. 300 yd. shot, Judge dead in his driveway. Taxi driver (duh!) lived to testify against Harrelson.

He truly thinks his father was a patsy despite all the evidence to the contrary.

That was a lie.
By that time he had been told multiple times what he was under arrest for.
Commies always lie.

356 Morning, all you insomaniacals! 'Tis Wednesday: halfway along the dusty, winding road to the weekend.

How's fall so far? Our promised cool front has moved in, though their promises of temps dropping after midnight to the fifties has not materialized: currently 67 F. w/ 45% humidity, and a stiff (21 mph) NE wind. The wind and the humidity would be enough to make a perceptible change. My workout should be . . . interesting.

357 I think Trumpy started to try to bang Snowflake, his sister. It was mildly dramatic. I separated them. Snowflake, beautiful cat seemed pissed.

Trumpy's not fixed yet. Snowflake will be soon. Two of her cats look exactly like Trumpy. There has been a lot of speculation as to whether or not the cats 'are married' as my friend's young daughter's called it.

Were they playing or was I watching a cat version of Bratty Sis videos.

Stateless, there was no question about the scenario when young Stirling met young Dagny, a female but not his real sister. It was "Helloooo, baby!" and "Let me stand next to your fire!" And Dagny hadn't gone into heat yet. I made sure to have one or the other stay at Linda's until I could get Stirling altered.

358 Mills Brothers, huh? As late as 1967-68, they charted with a neat song called "Cab Driver." This was the tail end of the days when Dean Martin, Sinatra, Louis Armstrong, Al Hirt, and other "old fogies" could still get a hit song on the Top 40.
