Soooo, Function Keys. F keys all operate as labeled, volume, screen brightness, media player controls. Have to hold the FN key to shift to the alternate Functions, like F5=Refresh, F3=Find. I would like a keyboard F functions lock, like Num Lock or Caps Lock. I web search for how I might do that. These are suggestions I ran into. Just click the FN key and the light will come on like on the Caps Lock. Ha ha, no. Hold the shift key, or the ctrl key, or the alt key, or even the caps lock or the num lock then hit the FN key. Nope, nope, nopeity nope. The one suggestion all the sources had was to reverse the default in BIOS. No, please, don't make me go to BIOS. I just want to FN-lock/unlock on the keyboard. Nope. Reverse the function keys in BIOS, or nothing, it seems. I know it's no big deal, been in the BIOS before, long ago. I was a techie once. I probably won't fatfinger some fatal setting while there. I just wanted a Fn-lock. Sigh. Always something. Back to bed. Posted by: mindful webworker - TRS-80 alum at October 04, 2024 06:14 AM (bvx1O) 51
