Good Morning Kids. So Israel continues a massive and far-reaching counterstroke that for sure is both in part a response to the barbaric Hamas invasion from Gaza almost one year ago, and also as a preemptive strike against Hezbollah that likely was planning some sort of operation against Israel as that anniversary loomed. I'm no expert on Islam, although everything I need t o know about it I learned in Munich '72 and NYC on 9/11/01, as well as Beirut 1983. For those wholly unaware, Hassan Nasrallah who Israel vaporized was responsible for the planning of that attack that wiped out nearly 300 US Marines. Though his body count over the years is considerably higher. But here's what you got from the AP:

The Associated Press previewed the likely death of Hezbollah terrorist leader Hassan Nasrallah with a lengthy biographical article that rivaled The Washington Post — which famously referred to Al Qaeda terrorist leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi as an “austere religious scholar — in its effort to frame the Islamic extremist in a positive light. The original headline was posted on Friday, and it read, “Charismatic and shrewd: A look at longtime Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah.” But Saturday morning, the headline had already been edited to read simply, “Who is longtime Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah?”

It should be noted that the "religion" in question seeks to annihilate the State of Israel and every single Jew on the planet, on its way to enslaving everyone else left standing. Something it has been preaching and practicing the world over for about 1,500 years now.

Speaking of an evil force that seeks to cut out the tongues and blot out the eyes of anyone and everyone who stand in their way of creating their own version of paradise on earth. I give you none other than loping, lying heiress-boffer John Kerry:

Saw a story about a Dallas PD officer (female) back in 2018... while off-duty she somehow entered the wrong apartment and (claiming afterwards) she thought she was in her own apartment, she killed the guy living in the apartment thinking he was the intruder. The reason it became news: He was black and she is white. She was found guilty of manslaughter. Anyway, the story was about how she now has her first opportunity for parole (original 10-year sentence, she's been in prison for 6).

Here's the rabbit hole. The story quoted a professor from University of Texas, Dallas (or Arlington) saying basically "this lady should not get parole"... it was a more heavy-handed statement than you usually see from impartial university professors, so I looked her up (an aside - in this case, I think this lady should stay in prison; outrageous to go into someone else's home and shoot them dead). I've forgotten the prof's name at the moment, but it really doesn't matter... it led me to a house of horrors. Her department at the University of Texas is a bunch of radical freaks. 1/2

I'm looking at these photos, reading the bios and seeing what their "research" is all about and it's total freaky, unacademic nonsense. Many list their pronouns... almost all specialize in "LBGTQ+ studies" (whatever the hell that is)... and if you dive into some of the curriculum vitae they are total jokes. Their "publications" are talks they gave a some random place (not even a conference). One of these jokers was teaching a communications course; I looked at the syllabus. I kid you not: the "reading" material for the class was watching old Scooby Doo cartoons and other old shows (apparently looking for clues about queer stuff).

The punchline is: These people are loons and they're all getting paid by the state. And this is frickin' Texas! Supposedly rock-ribbed red Texas. Governor Greg Abbott, Lt Gov Dan Patrick (who does seem to be a great guy). What is going on here folks? This is a system failure....

It sucked. But we refused to leave. No place to go, really.

It was quite the storm. I have photos of two state or county snowplows laying on their sides in ditches after sliding off the road.

I only pay attention to Twitter Weather. Many of them were calling well in advance that a massive storm was brewing with the potential for significant loss of life, both along the coast and flooding inland and the system would stall.

Listen, I've lived through so many hurricanes, that yes, weather prediction is rife with scaremongering. Helene affected a part of the country that's never affected by hurricanes except as the detritus of dying storms. This is unusual. It doesn't excuse the whole weather narrative system of its constant fearmongering about literally every storm, nor the fact that they actually did get this one wrong. They said it would kill FL and GA, not NC and VA.
